En cherchant un peu du coté graphique, je tombe sur une application Xdiagnose installée d'office dans le 12.04 avec des cases à cocher pour désactiver le pilote framebuffer VESA ou le chargeur de démarrage graphique, le Hic c'est que les cases cochées se retrouvent décochées à chaque démarrage...

Le 04/02 :
J'ai fini par comprendre qu'il fallait pour que les modifications soient prises en compte lancer dans un terminal : 

gksudo xdiagnose

Après avoir fait coché "désactiver le pilote framebuffer VESA"  et  "désactiver le chargeur de démarrage graphique" on obtient ceci dans le fichier  /var/log/dmesg  :

[   22.922328] init: udev-fallback-graphics main process (691) terminated with status 1
[  129.087398] init: failsafe main process (724) killed by TERM signal

Ça n'a donc pas vraiment amélioré les choses... il y a d'autres options dans Xdiagnose mais je ne sais pas si elles peuvent aider !

Je sais pas... C'est juste une éventualité, au cas où...

Malheureusement là je ne sais pas trop vers où te guider.
Peut-être que le framebuffer est bien activé dans la 12.04, peut-être que ton matériel fait que le framebuffer est automatiquement utilisé...
Peut-être que le ralentissement n'a rien à voir avec le framebuffer...

Si tu me dis que tu n'as rien fait de spécial, je ne pense pas que ça soit ça... C'était juste "au cas où"...

Ok pour laisser tomber les 15 secondes et essayer de voir à quoi correspond fb0: VESA VGA frame buffer device. Pour autant que je me souvienne, l'installation a été simple à partir d'un CD 12.04 : une mise à jour, la prise en charge des langues, ubuntu-restricted-extras depuis la logithèque, puis l'utilisateur a continué les mises à jours périodiquement... Les framebuffers peuvent-ils être bricolés inconsciemment ?

Y-a-t-il d'autres fichiers que je puisse essayer de récupérer sur cette machine pour avancer ? Ce PC est maintenant un peu loin de chez moi mais je vais essayer d'obtenir quelques infos de plus, il y a probablement un adaptateur vidéo sur la carte mère + une carte AGP, un setup a revoir dans le BIOS ?

Moi de mon côté je n'ai aucune ligne qui ressemble à "fb0: VESA VGA frame buffer device".
As-tu installé quelque chose de particulier pour l'affichage ? Des mises à jour inhabituelles ? Des PPA exotiques ? As-tu modifié quelque chose lié au framebuffer ?

j'ai le même démarrage lent sur une machine que j'ai configurée pour des amis avec Ubuntu 12.04, j'ai récupéré le fichier /var/log/dmesg qui montre 15 sec écoulées entre ces deux lignes :

et surtout presque deux minutes entre ces deux lignes :

Que puis-je faire avec ces informations ? Est ce le texte  < fb0: VESA VGA frame buffer device >  qui doit m'aiguiller ou celui de la ligne suivante ? je suis dans le brouillard...

Regarde dans /var/log/syslog où il y a un grand espace en seconde entre deux séquences du boot et tu pourras mieux ciblé ce qui le fait booter lentement et ce qu'il cherche, ex (ici normal):

Le démarrage dure 2 à 2:30 minutes. c'est beaucoup !

En effet, c'est beaucoup.
Je ne saurais plus te guider, comme ça de tête, pour afficher le détail de la séquence de démarrage.


Pour le problème des "duplicate source", dans le fichier /etc/apt/sources.list la ligne suivante est redondante (les lignes équivalentes sont déjà existantes).
Il faut la supprimer.

Qu'appelles-tu "énormément de temps" ?
Tout est relatif :-)

Il faudrait essayer de démarrer le système en affichant l'avancement des actions de démarrage pour savoir ce qui coince. Par contre je ne sais plus comment faire ça, ça fait bien trop longtemps que je n'ai pas eu de problème à ce niveau... Peut-être quelqu'un d'autre pourra-t-il t'aiguiller.

Cela veut dire que tu as configuré tes dépôts Ubuntu en double. Peux-tu exécuter les commandes suivantes ?
