sauf que je n'ai pas de moyen d'avoir une licence windows 7 même d'essai pour tester... ou alors il faut me dire comment obtenir cela sur Paris

et je ne souhaite pas acheter un PC avec OS en raison de l'horrible galère que cela représente ensuite (je me suis traîné pendant des années un Toshiba sensé 100% compatible Linux mais qui en écrasant Windows c'est trouvé incapable de gérer et le wifi et la caméra et plein d'autres trucs)

je suis assez déçue de LDLC car j'avais fait acheter un Vulcain sans OS chez eux par ma dernière boite et cela avait bien fonctionné l'installation d'Ubuntu, mais ce coup ci, là, c'est vraiment la galère

A ta place je reproduirais le problème sous Windows7 avant de les blamer, tu peux installer une version d'essai de Windows7 pour tester.

Sinon Asus fait des 13 pouces vraiment pas cher en ce moment.

Normalement, tu pourrais récuperer dans les 40 euros de licences W8 mais pas clair si c'est toujours possible.

je voyais pas ça comme cela... trop centrée sur l'idée de dépanner le LDLC Vulcain SM1-2-H50 sûrement

de toute façon leur machine préconisée ne correspond pas à mes critères (qui sont là : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1130681)

un écran 14" c'est intransportable pour moi : autant acheter une machine fixe... et il n'y a plus de machine correspondant à mes besoins sur leur site en ce moment où au double du prix !

c'est nul d'indiquer les pages de dépannage pour une autre machine que celle déjà vendue !

bref, renvoyer la machine c'est ne plus avoir de PC pendant un bout de temps car difficile d'en trouver un sans OS sans avoir internet.

je préférerais donc dépanner le clavier si c'est possible... ou avoir un début de preuve que c'est matériel pour qu'ils changent ce clavier ce qui n'est probablement pas insurmontable...

Bonjour , le LDLC Vulcain SM1-2-H50 n'as rien a voir avec le Clevo W540EU, D'ailleurs LDLC ne dit pas que c'est la meme machine, ils disent que si besoin tu peux renvoyer ta machine et acheter leur variante du W540EU, ce qui n'as rien a voir !

de façon general, ils n'assurent aucun support logiciel de leurs machines et c'est pour ça qu'ils les vendent sans OS.

on me propose aussi de tester les touches par un truc appelé showkey en utilisant tty : j'essairai ainsi que les trucs proposés par Eudes de LDLC ce soir...

par contre, se serait sympa d'avoir la suite vis vis des résultats de xev: quel diagnostic docteur ?

Je suggère de rechercher de ce coté. Nous n'avons ensuite pas d'infos sur le clavier du Vulcain retourné car un clavier n'est pas géré comme un périphérique avec un driver à part en général sous Linux. Il s'agit plus d'une question de configuration pure (charset/keyboard layout) et d'associer une réponse aux différentes touches de fonction. Si vous ne parveniez toutefois pas à les configurer le retour reste effectivement la solution la plus simple.
Si vous deviez repasser commande chez nous je suggère plutot le LDLC Aurore BS3, qui fonctionnerait correctement sous Ubuntu après quelques manipulations/configurations. Il dispose pour sa part d'une documentation dédiée sur le site d'Ubuntu :

Un changement de référence direct n'est ensuite pas possible; mais le remboursement de l'autre machine vous permettra de repasser une nouvelle commande si vous le souhaitez, tout en rentrant dans vos frais.
Notez qu'il s'agit là à peu près des seules informations que nous aurons pour les systèmes linux hélas. Nous n'avons en effet pas d'expérience très poussée sous les systèmes alternatifs; et ne pourrons donc pas l'installer/configurer pour vous. Nous restons toutefois disponible si vous avez des questions simples; et vous répondrons si nous en avons la possibilité.

"aucune ne correspond" c'est ennuyeux ! Bon, déjà s'il y a bien des informations qui s'affichent quand tu appuies sur chaque touche (ou combinaison de touches) ça veut dire que ce n'est pas un problème matériel.

Ce que je constate dans ton retour après la phrase "les autres touches qui ne vont pas bien...", c'est que l'ordinateur a compris que tu as successivement tapé les touches suivantes du pavé numérique, sans le verrouillage numérique activé : 7, 8, 9, *, 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, +, -, 0.

C'est exactement ce qu'il se passe quand je tape sur mon clavier (de portable aussi) avec Fn + le "pavé numérique virtuel" - les caractères en bleu sur les touches autour du "i".

Je constate également qu'il n'y a aucune référence au fait que tu auras appuyé sur la touche Fn.

Fn semble fonctionner sans problème. Peux-tu confirmé que tu as tapé Fn-7 puis Fn-8 puis Fn-9 etc etc jusqu'à Fn-? ? Si oui tout marche bien pour cette partie-là du clavier. Pour avoir les chiffres, il faut utiliser Verr. Num. (Fn-Inser sur ton clavier).

Peux-tu réessayer xev avec les combinaisons Fn-W et Fn-Maj.-W ?

Comme tu peux le deviner, je ne suis pas devant ton ordinateur et je ne peux pas valider ou pas que telle ou telle touche fonctionne.
Je vois que tu as tapé sur plein de touches... ça ne m'avance pas à grand chose.
Il faut que tu vérifies que ce qui s'affiche correspond à la touche que tu appuies... en regardant notamment la partie "keycode" et la parenthèse qui suit, ainsi que potentiellement la ligne "XLookupString".

As-tu bien pointé la fenêtre blanche avec la souris et non le terminal ?

Le truc intéressant est la partie "keycode" et la parenthèse qui suit.
On n'a pas besoin du contenu (en tout cas pas pour le moment). Il faut juste que tu vérifies, par toi-même, que le comportement et les réponses correspondent à ce qu'on attendrait, en t'inspirant de cet exemple.
