Tu ajoutes ceci à ton fichier /etc/rc.local avant l'instruction exit 0 :

INITTY=/dev/tty[1-8]
for tty in $INITTY; do
    setleds -D +num < $tty
done

Bon, finalement  je vais rester en mode ligne de commande.
Il me reste à régler numlock on avant l'invite du login (sans le serveur X ça risque d'être compliqué - pas de gdm ni de lightdm ni de nautilus).

Je monte un serveur FTP et je suis confronté aux problèmes courants de vsftpd.
A celà s'ajoutent  des problèmes de configuration de :
grub
numlockx
réseau.
maj dépots.
Usb
shutdown now.
ufw.
Je me suis replongé avec délice dans la ligne de commande mais là, j'en peux plus.
J'avais déjà installé sur cette machine  une Ubuntu 13.04 et un FTP fonctionnel sans les "petits" ennuis évoqués ci dessus.
Ce que je veux, ce n'est pas de démarrer en mode graphique mais de pouvoir lancer startx quand je désire.

Mais alors, quel est l'intérêt d'avoir installé Ubuntu Server, vu que Ubuntu Server c'est Ubuntu sans environnement graphique ?

à ce moment, il m'ouvre une fenêtre minuscule comme une boite d'alumettes.
dans cette petite console, j'ai accès à toute les commandes mais je n'ai ni l'affichage graphique ni un écran en taille normale.
Me faut-il installer gdm ?
