Mon imprimante HP 3520 a depuis des années ce même problème, presque systématiquement, l'impression s'arrête au premier tiers où à la moitié de la page. Les têtes d'impression ne travaillent plus (plus de bruit), mais l'écran laisse la barre de chargement comme si le travail continuait à se faire. La page reste alors dans l'imprimante
Cela dure généralement 5 à 10 minutes, après quoi généralement, la page sort et le reste n'est pas imprimé. Il arrive parfois mais c'est rare, que l'impression reprenne et se termine correctement.
Bien entendu, j'ai eu ce problème sous 18.04, 20.04 et 22.04. J'ai installé et désinstallé les pilotes hplip, mis à jours, réinstallé / désinstallé, j'ai utilisé ou non les pilotes, le problème est toujours là. Peut importe que ce soit du pdf, du libre office, du jpg, peut importe le logiciel qui demande l'impression.
En ayant marre de ces Nièmes linuxeries irrationnelles, je ne compte pas élaborer de potion magique à base de mandragore et de portière de Renault 5, ni m'en remettre à des incantations chamaniques sur fond de pentacle tracé au sol.

Bien, après les diverses manip réalisées dans mon précédent post, plus rien ne sort de l'imprimante, si ce n'est un message d’erreur apparu une fois. Tout désinstallé et réinstallé. L'impression se lance, et bloque à nouveau, cette fois ci aux trois quart.
la commande systemctl restart cups-browsed fait juste sortir le papier de l'imprimante, mais ne termine pas l'impression.
Aussi, fait notable, il arrive qu'au bout de 5, 10 ou 15mn, des impressions antérieures sortent de la machine, impression totale parfois, partielle aussi. Ce qui vient de m'arriver ici.
La lecture des liens me laissent à penser que certains des problèmes abordés peut-vent être réglé par la commande systemctl restart cups-browsed. Dans mon cas, le problème est mois l'impression capricieuse que l'impression partielle. Ainsi, sur un paquet de 500 feuilles, j'estime à au moins 300 le nombre d'impressions partielles, qui finiront au brouillon / bac de recyclage.

Bonjour
Ma vieille nvidia 760 ne faisant plus vraiment l'affaire, j'ai récupéré une amd 6900 XT, afin d'avoir beaucoup de marge avec les drivers pas parfaitement optimisés, et ce pour longtemps.
Et là, bien entendu, ce sont les "linuxeries" habituelles :
- Ventilateurs qui tournent plus après le BIOS[
- Driver invisibles dans les menu des paramètres du système
- L’installation du deb officiel d'AMD ne produit rien (en même temps, c'est un installeur de 15ko
- Les updates et upgrade remettent des drivers nvidia, quand bien même ceux ci ne soit pas visibles dans les paramètres systèmes
- Les posts et tutos disponibles m'ont déjà fait perdre une heure dans de multiples directions
- ...
N'acceptant plus de perdre des dizaines d'heures chaque années pour faire des choses simples, et refusant de retourner sous windows après 10 ans, je requière de l'aide.

Visiblement, la procédure est arrivée correctement à son terme, mais je n'ai aucun logiciel installé, aucune trace de driver nul part, et mes ventilateurs ne tournent toujours pas. Ça va pour du bureau ou de la navigation, mais je vais pas me risquer à d'autres usages.

Soit, mais en quoi ces mises à jours ont un lien avec la thématique des drivers?
En utilisant radeon profile, je constate qu'il détecte bien que les ventilateurs sont à 0% en réglage automatique. Ce qui semble normal finalement compte tenu de la charge quasiment nulle. En effet, en passant à 20% via ce logiciel, les ventilos tournent bien. Un problème de réglé semble-t'il.
En revanche, la mise à l'échelle fractionnaire du bureau à 150% est interprétée par radeon profile comme étant une résolution de 2560x1440. Idem sur steam par exemple. Lourd.

Bon, merci des efforts. Je vais peut-être à encore et encore avoir a faire une réinstallation complète d'ubuntu, enfin deux ou trois vu que généralement ça fonctionne jamais correctement du premier coup.

Dans ce cas, je ne vois qu'une dernière solution, comme d’habitude, raser le système d'exploitation et repartir d'une installation ubuntu depuis zéro.

Le lien que tu m'apportes m'a permis de paramétrer le monitoring plus correctement. J'en conclue après une heure d'utilisation que :
1) le ventilateur auto est généralement éteint, et tourne occasionnellement à 15/20% quand il y a une température supérieure à 50%
2) Les centaines de mo téléchargés n'ont aucune interface graphique et ne sont pas affichés dans le menu pilotes des paramètres ubuntu
3) Radeon-profile sert d'interface graphique aux driver
En l'état je vais suspendre mon formatage, mais ça ne règle pas le problème de la mise à l'échelle fractionnaire.

De retour du taf où j’enchaîne les journées chargées, me revoilà avec un écran bloqué dans cette résolution. Alors bon, ayant déjà eu une fois ou deux ce problème, j'en ai eu marre d'écumer les forums à la recherche de solutions ésotériques, j'ai rasé le système, formaté le disque et réalisé une fresh-install. De retour à la normale pour plusieurs sessions pendant 2/3 jours.
Après une nuit de 3h la veille, je reviens chez moi à 23h au lieu de 18, et là, c'est reparti pour un tour. J'ai ai vraiment marre des ces "linuxeries" improbables qui me contraignent, depuis une dizaine d'années, à réinstaller mon système environ une fois par an pour ce genre de délire, quelles que soient les configs. Bonjour
J'ai pas mal joué à L4D2 avec une installation propre via steam, mais depuis mon passage sous 22.04, même en configurations graphiques minimales, lorsque je lance un niveau, je suis à 1 frame toutes les 10 secondes voir un arrêt sur image avec le son qui fait du sur place. Même une fois le jeu réinstallé sur une fresh install de 22.04.
Pourtant : j'ai largement la config recommandée pour ce jeu ancien (6800K + 16 go DDR4, aucun overckocking), et la GTX 760 a les derniers pilotes.
Je ne souhaite pas bricoler les pilotes, ne serait-ce que via l'interface système. La dernière fois j'ai eu le droit à 3 ou 4 réinstallations système, un post sur ce forum et les linuxeries habituelles qui font perdre une journée et qui en arrivent même à me faire désosser l'ordinateur... D'où ce post si quelqu'un saurait vraiment annuler toute manip aggravant la situation.

Après divers essai, je peux lancer GTA 5 et y "jouer", même si le nombre de FPS affiché ne correspond pas à ceux de l'écran. Mais HL2, qui date pourtant de 2004, n'arrive même pas à faire tourner le menu d'accueil. Comment est-il possible que Ubuntu soit incapable de lancer un jeu de 18 ans d'âge !? On parle de titre pourtant compatibles sans bricolages exotiques, wine ou autre...

Les trois jeux cités ont été téléchargés via steam, qui a été installé proprement sur mon système. Ces derniers ont été installés sans heurts.
Je penche pour une inadéquation des drivers. Ils fonctionnaient correctement sous 20.04. Et sous la 22.04 ça me semble pas optimisé ou même fonctionnel.
