Bonjour,
Il m'est impossible de configurer correctement le second écran connecté au port VGA de pc portable.
Voici le détail de mon analyse. Désolé pour le contenu c'est du texte brut.

Ma configuration :
Portable Dell D430
Dual boot: Windows 7 et Ubuntu 12.04
second écran : DGM L-2266WD (1920 X 1080 H:30-80Hz V:56-75Hz) - http://www.digimate.com/france/productD … p?prod=506

Après plusieurs années de satisfaction avec Ubuntu 10.04 entre noël et le jour de l'an j'ai offert à mon D430 une migration vers la nouvelle LTS 12.04. Tout c'est bien passé sur le portable seul.

Le 3 janvier j'utilise mon portable au bureau en le connectant avec le second écran sur la prise VGA. La galère commence, impossible de régler la résolution. je ne parle pas des rotations d'écran avec impossibilité de revenir à une position normale.
Avec ubuntu 10.04 tout était normal, je n'ai jamais rencontré de problème d'affichage avec les doubles écrans.

Je part à la recherche sur le net. Visiblement je ne suis pas le seul à avoir de déboir avec les résolutions non reconnues.

A CE STADE JE PENSE QUE LA CARTE GRAPHIQUE EST BIEN RECONNUE PAR CONTRE L'ECRAN SUR LE PORT VGA N'EST PAS BIEN IDENTIFIÉ ET LORSQUE LES 2 ECRANS SONT EN FONCTION. l'OS MET PAR DÉFAUT LA PLUS HAUTE RESOLUTION COMMUNE SOIT (1024 x 768) SUR LES 2 ECRANS.

L'écran LVDS seul permet bien l'affichage en 1280X800, mais impossible de l'utiliser si le second écran est branché sur le port VGA.

Si je tente de modifier la résolution de l'écran LVDS par le menu affichage voici les messages d'erreurs

Premier message d'erreur
La taille souhaitée (2304, 800) dépasse la limite matérielle 3D (2048, 2048).
Vous devez redisposer les écrans pour qu'ils soient contenus dans un rectangle (2048, 2048)
ou choisir une session Ubuntu 2D lors de la connexion.

Second message d'erreur
GDBus.Error:org.gtk.GDBus.UnmappedGError.Quark._gnome_2drr_2derror_2dquark.Code3: La taille souhaitée (2304, 800) dépasse la limite matérielle 3D (2048, 2048).

Le résultat est bizarre, la résolution a bien changée mais la dalle de l'écran  est partiellement rempli et le PC est impossible à utiliser car le temps rafraisisement de l'écran est abominablement long. J'ai rebooté le PC pour revenir à ma confuguration initiale.
