ca fonctionne bien aussi pour moi sauf une option importante qui manque dans catalyst-control-center voir ici
a part ca, ma machine est stable et de plus, je constate un abaissement de la temperature de l'ordre de 15 a 20 deg.c.( fait tres chaud ici) par rapport a l'utilisation des pilotes mesa qui font monter la temperature du prosso a ...71deg.c.!!!!!!

bonjour a tous,
mon avis, qui n'engage que moi, c'est que unity c'est vraiment de la bombe!
les avis different a ce sujet ,mais sont influences par les habitudes et experiences de chaque utilisateur;
et ce qui fait la force de la communaute d'ubuntu, c'est justement le fait que ses users viennent de tous les milieux: widow,macos,linux, unix..et autre amigados;
loin d'etre un 'guru' mais quand meme un peu experimente, ayant debute sous apple2e et ibm sous unix, et decouvert l'environnement graphique et le sacro-saint mulot sur amiga1000, ce qui a l'epoque etait une veritable revolution, je pense etre a meme de constater que l'evolution des systemes linux depuis les annees 90 et la sortie de la premiere distri mandrake, est tres interessante:
alors que billou nous remet sans cesse le meme menu mais avec des sauces differentes depuis la sortie de w95, qui a l'epoque etait quand meme une grosse evolution ,nous faisant passer des environnements de bureau a des environnements graphiques performants et stables, il faut le reconnaitre.., mais depuis la sortie d'ubuntu les choses ont enormement evolue sous linux :
la prise en main est devenue accessible a tous (avant ubuntu, en post-install par default, il manquait toujours soit l'image, soit le son); et le plus important, nous avons le choix entre plusieurs environnements stables possibles et proposes. desormais tout un chacun peut personnaliser son systeme dans des proportions bien superieures a ce qu'offre widow et macos.
familier et fervent user de gnome, j'ai eu un peu de mal a me faire a unity, ca fait vraiment bizarre au debut...
puis je trouve que compiz etait moins 'sensible' sous gnome, plus 'tolerant'...sans crashs...
mais si on prend en consideration que unity vient juste de naitre ,laissons lui le temps de se developper et essayons d'imaginer ce que ca donnera dans quelques annees...ca va faire tres mal a billou! et c'est tout benef pour nous, utilisateurs basic ou advanced mais utilisateurs libres nous sommes.
unity a pour lui la simplicite de prise en main alliee a la puissance de unix.
bon, il faut continuer a utiliser la console pour quelques taches, ca peut desapointer les users qui migrent depuis widow ,mais a ceux-ci je dis 'patience, insistez, le monde libre a besoin de vous aussi !'
si unity engendre pour certains de nous un trop grand depaysement, kde est toujours maintenu !
en bref, vive gnome et unity , Linux encore merci ,tu es notre sauveur ,notre guru !
et a tous les developpeurs merci aussi de nous proposer quelque chose de nouveau, de simple et de performant avec unity ! you made a good job, give us a nice stuff;
je suis donc pour le maintien et l'evolution de unity a 100% !
ceci dit ,en toute objectivite ,bien sur; mon avis n'engage que moi;
...c'est unity qui m'a fait basculer dans l'esprit communautaire, ..apres 30 ans passes comme ghost-user.,
..je suis newbe sur le forum, et je vous adresse a tous les cordiales salutations d'un pinguin parmi d'autres;

bonjour a tous,
apres installation des pilotes catalyst 12.06 telecharges depuis le site d'ATI/AMD et installes selon la methode manuelle decrite ici   (grand merci Alexislavie!)
j'ai un petit souci, ce qui motive ce post :
dans " catalyst-control-center" je n'ai pas les options de gestion d'affichage  .....
...c'est un peu genant car l'option pour empecher le crenelage des fenetres pendant leur deplacement devrait s'y trouver...(?)
et c'est cette option en particulier qui m'interesse ici .
de quelle maniere, donc, puis-je soit avoir ces options dans le gestionnaire-catalyst, soit le cas echeant une autre solution pour guerir mes fenetres de cette...tremblante....?

je suis sous precise en 32 bit, install fraiche, ma machine portable samsung prosso intel, ram2goDDR3,
...et une @#$%!^&# de carte ati/amd radeon HD6400M 1goDDR3,
les pilotes sont bien installes, le direct-rendering fonctionne, openGL ok.

merci d'avance si quelqu'un peut me donner une solution !

(avec les proposed-drivers ubuntu, sous toutes les versions ubuntu avec noyau stable depuis la 05.04), dommage que ma vieille machine ait crame il y a peu de temps(pendant un championnat de supertuxkart!) car je constate un abaissement des performances 'soft' avec ma nouvelle machine(2012) en comparaison de l'ancienne (2002).....
alors que je suis passe de la DDR2 a la DDR3....et de 256mo(graphique) a 1gb/ ce n'est pas tres logique: il y a du boulot sur le soft pour les developpeurs...
de meme, je me suis laisse dire ici et la que les cartes 'optimus' c'est plutot moyen en termes de performances graphiques;

faucon50>     pour en revenir a mon probleme, ce qui me pose souci, c'est l'absence de l'option 'gestionnaire d'affichage' dans catalyst-ctrl-center', option fort utile pour empecher le 'dechirement des fenetres'...
de quelle maniere peut-on afficher/activer cette option..?
a part le dechirement des fenetres tout fonctionne.

j'ai installe le catalyst 12.06 distribue par amd/ati, obtenu par wget et installe par la methode manuelle;
la version de catalyst est bien 12.06 mais celle du driver 8.98...
..est-ce..'normal' ?

autre chose aussi ,peut etre un indice..? dans le gestionnaire de drivers proprios d'ubuntu, fglrx s'est active a la suite de l'install de catalyst...je ne sais pas si c'est 'normal' ; dans ta config qui semble bien fonctionner est-ce aussi le cas ?
(l'install manuelle de catalyst est-elle normalement reconnue dans jockey-gtk ou alors catalyst doit-il by-passer jockey ?)

c'est le meme et unique catalyst pour les 32 et 64bit. le probleme vient pas de la.
sinon, effectivement ,on dirait bien que ce qu'il me reste a faire c'est de tout virer en bloc, jockey compris et de reprendre a zero.....
j'ai l'impression que bien qu'ayant invoque l'install de catalyst ati en manuel, jockey m'a incruste son #$@^!driver...
bon, j'ai du menage a faire...
merci de ta collaboration ,Faucon50, je posterai le resultat apres la reinstallation de @#$!%^&$ati/amd

bon....je suis un peu....desapointe....;
j'ai tout vire et j'en ai profite pour aussi virer les paquets jockey....
j'ai refait l'installation en manuel....reconfigurer xorg.....et je me retrouve dans les memes conditions qu'auparavant...
....toujours pas de controles de l'affichage dans catalyst cc.....!

voila mon /var/log/xorg; ....(tiens, kernel i686, je suis pourtant bel et bien en 32b...je pourrais toujours changer mon kernel ,mais vu mon probleme, ca devrait pas venir de la..(?))...et normalement c'est 'fglrx' et pas 'glx' qui devrait se charger dans 'modules'..? (et si je configure mon module avec fglrx= black-sceen au demarrage, sans acces a la ligne de commande)
mon ecran c'est lcd de base ,pc portable;
