dès mon arrivée tardive j'ai essayé la solution : je n'ai pas eu la possibilité de "rétablir", bouton grisé ; cela a même provoqué le bug suivant :
"nautilus crashed with SIGABRT in raise()"
Donc, sur ce je vais me coucher, la nuit portant conseil....

Merci mille fois alca94,
après remise en ordre de ma source.list et suppression des doublons, l'install a pu se lancer sans obstacle. Par contre, il y a une tonne de fichiers qui sont entrain d'être installés. Je croise les doigts.

je suis de retour sur cette discussion pour évoquer le non fonctionnement de mon scan (imprimante DCP 195 C).
après toutes mes précédentes misères que tu avais réussies à me solutionner, je n'avais pas tester le scan ; aujourd'hui, je m'aperçois qu'il ne marche ni à partir de l'imprimante, ni à partir de l'ordi (xsane ou simple scan ou gimp ne trouvent pas mon périphérique).
J'ai désinstallé tout ce qui touchait à Brother, brscan, 195 C, et réinstallé le script plusieurs fois, rien n'y fait.

sudo sed 's/trusty/saucy/g' -i /etc/apt/sources.list.d/yannubuntu-boot-repair-trusty.list

réponse : impossible de lire /etc/.... aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type.

Bonjour,
depuis mon passage en version 14.04, l'indicateur d'applications a disparu. J'ai essayé divers paramétrages avec unity tweak tool, compiz, dconf, mais je n'ai pas trouvé de solutions. Sur le forum, je n'ai pas trouvé non plus l'évocation de ce problème.

ça donne rien de bon : Je n'ai toujours pas d'indicateur d'applications, mais j'ai aussi perdu le pointeur de souris, et mon lanceur réduit à sa plus simple expression.

avec la session invité mon bureau est vide, j'ai mon lanceur en fonction de l'interface choisie, Gnome ou Cairo, ou cinnamon, avec unity, je n'ai toujours pas d'iindicateur d'applications. Pourrais-tu me donner la manip pour reconfigurer comme c'était avant le "mv  .config" ?

J'ai posté il y a 2 jours mes pbs de disparition de tout le répertoire X11 sur mon ubuntu 13.10, mais je n'ai pas eu la chance d'être lu par un contributeur du forum et je suis assez désespéré.
Donc actuellement, pour résumer, pour essayer de régler quelques pbs de pointeur de souris, j'ai alternativement opté pour pilotes propriétaires (NVIDIA) et "nouveau", sans grands résultats. J'ai ensuite décidé, comme je l'avais lu sur le forum de supprimer le fichier xorg.conf ; cela m'a supprimé carrément le répertoire X11 entre autres.
Une nouvelle install du xorg me répond que j'ai déjà la nouvelle version installée ; une reconfig me répond que le répertoire/etc/X11 n'existe pas ...
et je tourne en boucle (et en bourrique). Quand je relance l'ordi, je tombe sur l'invite au login, la demande de mot de passe, mais la session graphique ne se lance pas.
Question : y-a-t'il une commande console qui permette de lancer une session graphique ?
sinon, quelle méthode de reconstruire répertoire et fichiers Xorg sans avoir à réinstaller ubuntu 13.10 ?

procédure suivie jusqu'à la réinstall de xerver xorg, et, miracle !!!!, l'interface graphique est relancée. Je conserve toujours quelques menus soucis, mais ça marche.

Hier, je vous écrivais ça :
Depuis mise à niveau 13.10, je rencontre de nombreux problèmes, entre autres :
- le pointeur de souris qui disparaît et que je ne peux repérer que par appui de la touche CTRL et faire réapparaître en lançant "écran" de "paramètres système", Il m'a été diagnostiqué sur le forum, une origine dans le pilote de la carte graphique (NVIDIA GT 220) ; je suis passé alternativement des pilotes propriétaires  aux pilotes "nouveaux" sans changements (visibles, tout du moins);

Aujourd'hui, à force de bidouiller, et ayant lu que le fichier xorg.conf pouvait être supprimé, je l'ai fait, et certainement très mal, car au démarrage, plus d'interface graphique, juste une invite au login... j'essaie une tentative de reconfigurer xorg.conf, il ne trouve plus de répertoire X11. Je vérifie en console et dans le /etc, pas de /X11;

Enfin, voilà, quoi, c'est le bazar et j'aimerais trouver une solution :

depuis ma dernière mise à jour ubuntu 13.10 le pointeur de ma souris a disparu; j'en vois la trace grâce à la touche ctrl.

Bonjour Vikin712,

Pour expliquer par comparaison on peut dire que ma souris se comporte comme si le pointeur était entièrement transparent : lorsque je survole par exemple un icône de bureau ou un bouton, ces objets réagissent de la même façon qu'avant et je peux les activer normalement par 1 clic ou un double-clic, sauf que pour aller sur le bon, j'y vais en aveugle. J'ai bien sûr essayé de changer les aspects du pointeurs, les thèmes, mais aucun résultat.
voilà ce que je peux en dire en espèrant avoir été assez clair.

peux-tu me dire la manip ?
d'autre part, j'ai un nouveau pb. : j'ai désinstallé par erreur gnome-session et ubuntu desktop et je ne peux plus accéder à aucun menu donc impossibilité de faire quoi que ce soit. pas d'accès à aucune application et donc pas de synaptic non plus.

merci pour cette solution, mais hélas, je ne peux ouvrir le terminal par le clavier ; ni alt F2, ni alt ctrl T ne génèrent de console. Y aurait-il un moyen d'y accéder par la console administrateur à partir du mode recovery ?

après l'upgrade du pilote nvidia à partir de synaptic, j'ai toujours le même pb de pointeur que je peux cependant corriger en lançant à chaque démarrage l'application "écran" présente dans les paramètres.
