bonjour,
bien, merci pour la liste "scorpio810" ça me permet de resserer le problème car effectivement il m'en manque 2: "directfb et dfbmga" si quelqu'un pouvait m'aider à déchiffrer ceci merci bien.
Pour Automatix je l'ai installé avec cette procédure (http://www.getautomatix.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installation#Ubuntu_6.06_.28Dapper_amd64.29)
aucuns problèmes d'install nickel, puis je l'ai lancé ,installé les codecs en 64 bits, mais par la suite j'ai eu des problèmes de son car j'ai eu le temps de voir dans son terminal qu'il installait un paquet avec gstreamer et sur mon ordi j'ai totem-xine d'install' et qui sont incompatibles donc j'ai tout désisnstallés car même avec automatix je ne suis pas arriver à lire le wmv.

Chez moi je n'ai aucun soucis avec AutoMatix.
Quand ma Ubuntu fut installé proprement, j'ai installé AutoMatix, puis sélectionné les éléments qui m'intéressait et voila, ca marche...

quel que soit la solution install manuelle des codecs , install avec Automatix ( j'ai désinstaller les medias vlc , mplayer , totem , xine pour ne pas avoir de conflits audio puis je je les ai installés avec atomatix aucun problèmes jusque là) les différentes façons d'installer fonctionnent mais au moment de lire le fichier wwmv j'ai toujours le message que se soit avec mplayer vlc ou totem comme quoi il me manque le codec....bien je vais laisser un peu murir les choses ... au fait merci pour les listes la dernière de "scorpio810" j'ai 40 codecs de moins !! c'est bien la preuve qu'il ne les trouve pas alors qu'ils sont installés je les ai installés manuellement..!

oui , ça m'interresse beaucoup de voir où ils sont et si ils ont des liens symboliques et à quels endroits; de mon coté je vais continuer à chercher ( pour info j'ai les codecs win32 dans /usr/lib64/win32 et /usr/lib/ win32, normalement il devrait aller les chercher là mais...).

au risque de me répéter - j'ai les dernières versions que me propose mon système cela ne veut pas dire que se soient les dernières versions existantes- pour info voici les versions qui sont installés sur mon système:

OUF!! j'y suis arrivé, je n'ai pas la solution que je désirais au départ et j'ai du me rabattre sur l'install de mplayer32 avec des modifs car il y avait des choses qui ne fonctionnaient pas sur mon ordi; je vais essayer d'être clair et précis dans mes explications :
tout d'abord lire ce post et ce tuto ( auxquels je dois tout)

1) télécharger les 2 packs de codecs "all-20061022.tar.bz2" et "essential-amd64-20061203.tar.bz2 " ( pour moi seulement le pack essential n'a pas été suffisant -pas de video-)

2) les détarer (tar xvjf alll...tar.bz2 , tar xvjf essential....tar.bz2)
3)copier leurs contenus dans /usr/lib64/win32 et /usr/lib/win32 , si ces répertoires n'existent pas les céer:
#mkdir /usr/lib64/win32
#mkdir /usr/lib/win32
#cp /home/sona/all-20061022/* /usr/lib64/win32
#cp /home/sona/essential-amd64-20061203/* /usr/lib64/win32
#cp /home/sona/all-20061022/* /usr/lib/win32
#cp /home/sona/essential-amd64-20061203/* /usr/lib/win32
j'ai essayé uniquement sur /usr/lib/win32 ça ne marche pas il va chercher dans lib64 aussi ( en fin ça ne coute rien et on est jamais trop prudent..)
4)faire maintenant une install des paquets suivants :
# sudo apt-get install ia32-libs lib32asound2 libasound2-plugins lib32ncurses5 ia32-libs-sdl ia32-libs-gtk lib32stdc+
il se peut qu'il yait déjà des paquets déjà installés, c'est mon cas, car j'ai installé firefox2 (32bits avec le flash9beta) , il se peut aussi que le paquet lib32stdc+ n'y soit pas , pas grave, ça fonctionne quand même, j'ai vérifié)
5) télécharger et installer le paquet mplayer32, avec la commande qui va avec ici:

je répétes:
$ sudo dpkg -i mplayer32_1.0pre7-1_amd64.deb
maintenant vous pouvez lancer mplayer32 en mode commande , il n'y a pas interface graphique, pour les plugins de mozilla et firefox et l'interface graphique suivre l'excellent post et tuto cité au- dessus (http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=63787)
pour ma part, comme le dit Drake en compilant on peut s'épargner toutes ces manips, mais cela ne me dérange pas car je fais un usage restreint de la video (en particulier les wmv) et je n'ai pas vu dans toutes mes périgrinations de paquet dont il parle.
je tiens à remercier toutes les personnes qui m'ont aider dans ce post et les autres aussi car je n'ai fait que reprendre avec des ajouts minimes ce qui est indiqué dans les post et tutos que je cite au-dessus , je les ai reprises à la file juste pour faciliter la lecture de la solution que j'ai retenue.
en faisant cette commande on obtiendra le fichier en plein écran pour d'autres options consulter le man de mplayer
$mplayer32 monfilm.wmv -fs (j'ai essayé aussi avec un .mkv c'est nickel)
autre précision je n'ai pas remarqué de conflits entre mplayer(64) et mplayer32 que ce soit en graphique ou en mode commande ( j'ai bien vérifié plusieurs manips et commandes sur des fichiers audio et video)

Pour ceux qui sont intéressés, j'ai fait un paquet permettant d'installer une version 32bits de mplayer/mencoder (avec tous les codecs) sur amd64 et qui devrait fonctionner au moins pour jaunty/karmic.
