Comment obtenir une résolution de 1400x105?

Bonjour à tous

Je voudrais régler la résolution de mon écran à 1400x1050, mais je ne sais pas comment faire.

J'ai inscrit cette résolution directement dans /etc/X11/xorg.conf[
et je suis aussi passé par la commande

aticonfig --resolution=0,1600x1200,1400x1050,1280x1024,1024x768

(qui apparemment ne fait que  modifier le xorg.conf)

Rien n'y fait, après redémarrage du serveur X,  gnome-display-properties ne me propose toujours que les résolution 1600x1200 et 1280x1024 mais pas 1400x1050 (qui me semble pourtant beaucoup plus logique que 1280x1024 qui ne correspond même pas à un format 4:3).
Actuellement, je fonctionne en 1600x1400 mais c'est écrit un peu petit quand même...

Voici les caractéristiques de mon PC:
-écran: Iiyama LS902UT Vision Master 1451 (19' résolution max 1600x1400)
-carte graphique: Radeon R350 [Radeon 9800 Pro]
-CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3200+
Coté soft:
-Ubuntu: 2.16.1 - Ubuntu (2006-10-02)
-Xorg: 7.1.1

Comme je ne sais pas à quoi correspondent tous ces nombres, je n'ai pas essayé de recopier ça dans mon propre xorg.conf. Peut-être faudrait-il que je le fasse?

C'est pas vraiment une réponse à ta question, mais c'est une alternative pour garder une grosse résolution et augmenter la taille des polices dans gnome.

Tu vas dans le menu polices de préférence de gnome, et dans les options avancé, tu augmentes la résolution.
