Beryl + carte vidéo ATI X800 (dsl...) + driver "radeon"... Encore !!!

Bonjour à tous et désolé pour cet ènième forum sur beryl mais si j'en crée un nouveau aujourd'hui c'est que je n'ai pas trouvé la solution dans les existants (et j'ai cherché...)

Mon problème est le suivant :
Cela fait déjà un petit moment que j'essaye d'installer beryl et j'ai a peu pres essayer toutes les combines :
drivers libre, proprio, XGL pas XGL sans succès...

Voici ou j'en suit :
J'ai configuré mon xorg.conf avec le driver libre radeon (j'ai entendu dire que AIGLX était compatible et comme XGL buggait...) et installé beryl. Lorsque je lance beryl cela donne :

Salut,

Juste une petite remarque, quel foutoir ce xorg.conf yikes

Commentes

load "glx"

et

Option "DRI" "true"

Ré-essayes de lancer beryl.
1/ Si ça passe, mais que tu as toujours des problèmes, colles ton Xorg.0.log.
2/ Si ça ne passe toujours pas, redémarre et colles le contenu de Xorg.0.log.old

Pour le xorg.conf désolé il me l'a sorti comme ca à l'installation et je l'ai pas nettoyé...
Sinon j'ai fait comme tu m'as dit et du coup il me marque

Au passage plus de bordures sur les fenêtres... j'ai longtemps vu ce problème sur les forums...

Je précise que le Direct Rendering fonctionne...

Bonjour,

J'ai, je crois, un problème similaire.

je viens de passer sur Ubuntu, tant j'étais impressionné par beryl en vidéo.

J'ai donc suivi les tutoriaux qui expliquaient comment l'installer.

Bref, après quelques heures, beryl était fonctionnel en utilisant les pilotes proprio conseillés d'ubuntu et un serveur XGL.

Tout marche bien, mais, toujours en quête de "mieux" j'ai voulu passez au serveur AIGLX mieux conçu pour beryl.

J'ai aussi fait ce choix quand je me suis aperçu que World of Wacraft via Wine, ne se lançait pas avec une session XGL (Seulement en Gnome) et me met le message d'erreur "Impossible de démarrer l'accélération 3D" ou quelque chose comme ça.

Donc, pour installer AIGLX, il ne faut pas utiliser les drivers fglrx mais des drivers libres. J'ai donc suivi le tutoriel pour les installer, quoique je ne sait pas si on peut parler d'installation vu qu'il suffit de changer un mot ("fglrx") par un autre ("radeon") dans le fichier xorg.conf (Je pense plutot que ces drivers libres doivent déjà être installés sur la machine et sont appellés par "ati" et "radeon").

Mais des que je change ce mot par celui la, et que je reboot, mon écran devient noir avant la page d'ouverture de la session :/

La première fois, j'ai réinstaller tout Ubuntu, la 2e je me suis aperçus qu'on pouvait accéder au terminal sans lancer les pilotes graphiques x) et j'ai donc pu rechanger le xorg.conf via le terminal.

Quelqu'un connait-il la réponse à mon problème svp ?

Ce n'est pas XGL qui me gêne, mais c'est de ne pas pouvoir faire tourner de jeu 3D quand il est activé.

PS : Carte Graphique X800 Pro
AMD 3400+ 1Go DDR PC3200
Ecran : Hyundai en DVI (c'est peut être de la que vient le problème ?)

Sinon, dans la foulé, un autre désagrément, ma carte son ne fonctionne pas et je ne sait pas ou trouver les drivers :/, c'est une Audigy 2 ZS.

Pour ceux qui ont installé les drivers proprios:

lorsqu'on installe les drivers proprios, il remplace un fichier (libGL.so) par le fichier proprio d'ATI. Hors, le driver libre "radeon" ne permet pas la 3D avec ce nouveau fichier libGL.so. Si vous souhaitez utiliser le driver libre, il vous faut donc d'abord désinstaller le driver "fglrx" avec la commande suivante:

sudo apt-get autoremove --purge xorg-driver-fglrx

Ensuite remplacer le driver fglrx par radeon dans le xorg.conf et redémarrer. Après redémarrage, pour voir si vous avez la 3D:

glxinfo | grep rendering

Si vous avez la 3D, vous pouvez utiliser AIGLX et Beryl.

Sinon, ben désolé... ça veut dire que le driver libre ne permet pas la 3D avec votre carte graphique, et vous êtes obligés d'utiliser cette m**** de driver proprio.

A d'accord, merci, j'avais déjà fait ça mais en passant par Synaptic (supprimer les paquets fglrx).

Mais c'est normal d'avoir un écran noir juste parce que j'ai changé fglrx en radeon ? La c'est pas que j'ai pas la 3D, c'est que plus rien ne s'affiche ! :/

Je me demande si c'est à cause mon écran en DVI et pas en VGA :/

Sinon je vait essayer avec ta méthode de apt-get remove et voir ce que ça donne. je suis a 99% sur du black screen mais bon ... j'essayerai de mettre un ecran vga voir ce que ça donne.

Mais ya pas de pilotes libre à installer ? faut juste changer la ligne et ça suffit ?

Bonsoir !

J'ai donc remove fglrx et changé fglrx par radeon ....

Je redémarre et black screen après le chargement d'ubuntu :/

J'ai branché mon écran vga mais la il dit que le signal est hors-limite :/

Donc, j'ai fait un

sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg

pour re-configurer le xorg.conf...

Il y a eu un menu ou il fallait séléctionner sa carte et sa résolution, j'ai donc mis ati et 1280x1024 mais au redémarrage, black screen après le chargement d'ubuntu. :(

J'ai donc regardé le log et comme je n'y connais pas encore grand chose, je vous met tout le log et svp ne soyez pas effrayé par la longueur, ça se lis vite ^^ :

Heuh Merci de votre participation mais je crois qu'on s'éloigne un peu de la préoccupation initiale de ce post...
A savoir, résoudre le problème du freeze de beryl au lancement !!!
Je n'ais toujours pas trouvé la solution, et attends désespérément (peut-etre pas quand même) votre aide !

j'ai la meme configuration que toi (radeon x800 + beryl + aiglx) mais pas le problème du freeze.

essaie avec le minimum d'options pour la section device, et remt les une par une si tu veux les tester.

pour les tutos, j'ai suivi celui de la documentation du site:
http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/beryl
avec navigation sur les liens annexes  de la section cartes ati
pour le xorg, je te l'enverrai lundi soir.

Pour ton problème avec beryl, lorsque j'ai fait l'update de edgy à feisty, j'avais presque le même problème

beryl: Failed to manage screen: 0
beryl: No manageable screens found on display :0.0

Pour moi, j'ai du downgrader beryl à la version 0.2.0 et maintenant tout marche nickel, je crois qu'il y a un bug avec beryl et feisty. Il devrait être fixé à la prochaine upgrade.
