ca marche en filiaire mais pas en wifi...

Salut !
J'ai deux pc à la maison. Les deux avec ubuntu 12.04. Le netbbook marche nickel en wifi mais je suis obligé de passer par une connexion filiaire avec le deuxième (celui avec lequel je poste). Merci de votre aide.

et voilou je crois que je n'ai rien oublier. En fait je vois la box dans la liste des réseaux sans fils et quand je m'identifie rien ne se passe. L'ecran de demande d'identification revient au bout de 1 mn sans me dire qu'il a échoué !

Désolé, je reformule.

Il est possible que ta box n'accepte une connexion wifi que pour une machine dont l'adresse MAC est renseignée dans la mémoire de la box.
En fonction de ta box, il est possible d'accéder à son panneau de configuration de différente manières pour pouvoir modifier cette configuration si besoin.

C'est une possibilité.

Donc vois si tu peux obtenir cette information, aide toi de la doc d'ubuntu (cherche y des infos sur ton type de box, routeur, etc.) et éventuellement modifié ta config au besoin.

ok suite à consultation du forum , j'arrive à rentrer dans ma configuration de box par l'adresse http://192.158.1.1 A l'intérieur dans le menu wifi j'ai une ligne "filtrage par adresse mac : non " donc je pense qu'il n'y a pas de souci de restriction à ce niveau là.
Toujours sur le forum, j'ai cru comprendre que peut être l'adresse IP du pc n'était pas comprise dans la plage d'adresses ip que fournit la livebox. Je pense avoir identifié la plage réseau DNS primaire et secondaire 192.168.1.10 , 192.168.1.150 , ( c'est bien ça la plage réseau ? ) Par contre je ne trouve pas la manip pour choisir l'adresse IP utilisé par mon pc ! bref comment renseigner manuellement cette adresse dans ubuntu ...

j'avance toujours ... mais ça marche toujours pas quand même. J'ai accés à "modification des connexions" , je trouve ma box dans le réseau sans fil, je peux modifier les paramètres, mais là pour le coup je suis vraiment larguer !! ipv4 , masque de reseau passerelle, DNS .... C'est trop fort pour moi ! help !

Si ta plage est 192.168.1.10 - 192.168.1.150 alors le serveur DHCP de ta box va fournir les adresses automatiquement dans cette plage.
Là, tu as comme adresse locale : 192.168.1.19

Donc ton problème ne vient pas d'une restriction par adresse MAC.

Le driver de ta carte wifi est ath5k et il est chargé donc je vois pas de raison à ton problème.
Tu es sûr de ta clef WPA ?
Tu as une antenne sur ta machine ou pas ?

pourtant 192.168.1.19 est bien en dehors de la plage 192.168.1.10 à 192.168.1.150 non ?

je suis sûr de ma clé wap de box car elle marche avec l'autre pc et je l'ai vérifié .
je n'ai pas d'antenne externe au pc , c'est un pc portable tout simple.
j'ai repris le fil du post et pense avoir répondu aux questions ...
