probleme de resolution (xorg)

Bonjour a tous,
Voila j'ai beau lire des poste, esseyer de trouver une solution a mon probleme , mais impossible, rien ne marche, tous d'abort j'ai un ordinateur portable :

HP OmniBook xe4100 - C 1.2 GHz - 14.1" TFT
Ordinateur portable - Mémoire vive: 128 Mo - Disque dur: 20 Go - DVD-ROM

j'ai installer ubuntu 7.04 sans aucun souci tous a etais reconnue par deffaut sans probleme, la resolution etais donc de 1024 x 768, aprés quelque heur, j'ai reusie a installer ma clef usb wifi, un onglet me signale que 340 mise a jour son possible, je les effectue tous.. et au redemarage ma resolution est de 840*600, des lors impossible de la changer en 1024*768. l'ecrant est illisible, j'ai esseyer de reconfigurer l'ecrant (via la reconfiguration de xorg) , mais a chaque fois au redemarage il y a un soucy, les log me dise que l'ecrant n'a pas etais trouver :
