Plus Rien ne boot apres install Feisty Fawn

J'ai tenter pour la premiere fois d'installer ubuntu sur un disque dur contenant deja un windows xp.
J'ai suivi le tuto , pour ce qui concernait le partitionnement et l'installation , tout s'est passé sans pb jusqu'au reboot.
La j'ai eu la premiere fois droit a une erreur  21 qui , en suivant les differents posts , correspondait a un pb de reconnaissance du hdd par grub.
voici ma config de grub

Ne pouvant non plus boot sur ma partoche win , j'ai voulu faire un fixmbr qui m'a donner ensuite un "joli"

Dans ton Grub on voit ça 

title        Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.20-15-generic

Or il semblerait que cette partition corresponde à ta partition swap ; je pense que ton système Ubuntu se situe plutôt sur une de ces deux partitions :

/dev/sda8           35211       36426     9767488+  83  Linux
/dev/sda9           36427       38250    14651248+  83  Linux

Au démarrage tu peux tenter de rentre dans le Grub et éditer la ligne correpsondant à ton noyau Ubuntu en appuyant sur e puis modifier la partition sur laquelle ilo doit booter.

C'est seulement une piste, je suis pas un grand spécialiste.

Salut cassini et Astier

Le menu.lst est bon :
(hd0,7) pour grub correspond à /dev/sda8.
Ce qui manque pour booter windows c'est une partition active /dev/sda1.
Pour l'activer tu peux le faire depuis le livecd :
sudo parted /dev/sda set 1 boot on et
sudo parted /dev/sda print pour vérifier. Tu devrais pouvoir booter sur windows.

j ai tenter ce que disait astier effectivement ca ne change rien  vu que ca ne boot pas du tout sur grub
je test ce que tu indique jeanjd63

Merci Jeanjd63, j'ecris ce message depuis windows , ca boot sans pb dessus
par contre je n'ai plus grub au demarrage now , j'ai tjrs pas pu tester ubuntu sans passer par le live cd , une soluce ?

Avec le livecd tu peux remettre le boot secteur de grub par la manip suivante :
sudo grub -> grub> la taper :
grub> find /boot/grub/menu.lst ce qui devrait donner maintenant: (hd0,7)
là tu tapes :
grub> root (hd0,7) et pour écrire le Boot loader de grub sur /dev/sda :
grub> setup (hd0) et enfin quitter par :
grub> quit

Si tu as à nouveau une erreur 21 tu peux toujours restaurer le mbr windows.
