Installation dual-boot sur ASUS X55VD Altec - comment booter ?

Bonjour

Un ami possède un portable Asus avec Windows 8 préinstallé.
J'ai voulu l'aider à installer en dual-boot Ubuntu version Linux Secure Remix téléchargé et gravé sur DVD
Pas de boot et pas de démarrage possible depuis le DVD!..

Le Bios AMI (Aptio Setup Utilities)
n'indique qu'une entrée dans Boot options Priorities
Boot option #1 Windows Boot Manager
Est-ce suffisant pour pouvoir booter sur le CD ?

Questions:
Comment réussir à booter sur le CD/DVD ?
Est-ce que GRUB va réussir à s'installer en cohabitant avec WIN 8 ?
Quelle partition est-il souhaitable de redimensionner pour faire de la place à Ubuntu ?

Je pense qu'il faut que tu "disabled" la ligne Secure Boot Control de l'onglet Security.

Tu veux dire pas de nouvelle entrée dans Boot options Priorities ?
C'est un lecteur interne ou externe ? Tu es sûre de l'iso ?
As-tu essayé avec une clé USB ?

C'est un lecteur interne et je sûr de l'iso (linux-secure-12.10-64bit.iso)
J'essaie demain avec une clé USB...

Oui, oui, testé sur une autre machine qui elle, accepte de booter sur le DVD
(essayer ou installer Ubuntu 12.10 secure)

Modifie le paramètre "launch CSM" qu'on peut voir dans la vue de ton Bios que tu as collée dans ton premier post : il faut le passer en Enabled (au lieu de Disabled). Si ça veut bien démarrer sur le liveDVD après cela, je te prie de répondre à cette demande avant de chercher à installer : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/boot-info
Le but, c'est de faire un état des lieux avant travaux.

Edit : il semble que d'activer  "launch CSM" ne suffise pas : Ph3nix_ recommande également d'activer le paramètre "Launch PXE OpROM" : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.ph … #p12004841
Donc si passer  "launch CSM" ne suffit pas, il faudra que tu passes aussi  "Launch PXE OpROM" en Enabled (mais essaie quand même de faire sans pour voir)

Question 1 résolue avec les deux options activées :
"launch CSM"  et "Launch PXE OpROM" Enabled
Boot ok , petit souci d'accès réseau, carte ethernet interne Atheros pas (encore) détectée... On verra après !

N'installe pas. Windows est installé en mode EFI et si tu installes Ubuntu maintenant, il va s'installer en mode Bios. Il faudrait que tu arrives à démarrer sur ton liveDVD en mode EFI alors que là, on voit ça dans ton Boot-Info :

Dans ton Bios, il faudrait que ne ne choisisses pas Legacy only mais un choix "UEFI and Legacy" si c'est possible. Débrouille-toi pour que ça démarre en EFI sur ton liveDVD : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/efi#identifier … n_mode_efi

J'ai fouillé dans le Bios et je ne vois aucune option UEFI and Legacy

Et effectivement au démarrage, j'ai bien vu l'écran classique non-EFI...

Dans le résultat du post, le modèle de ton portable apparaît comme étant X55VDR. Peux-tu confirmer que c'est bien le nom de ton modèle? Dans le titre de ton premier post, tu as écrit "Installation dual-boot sur ASUS Altec" : qu'est-ce que ça veut dire "ASUS Altec" ?
Moi, je suis un peu sec pour t'aider là : pourrais-tu demander de l'aide sur le forum Asus pour savoir comment booter en mode EFI sur ton LiveDVD ? J'ai vu que phiphilou - du forum-des-portables-asus.fr - semble posséder le même modèle que le tien (il mentionne le X55VDR) : http://www.forum-des-portables-asus.fr/ … post-71855
C'est un expert et si tu t'adresses à lui sur le forum forum-des-portables-asus.fr, je pense qu'il saura te guider pour que tu arrives à démarrer en EFI sur ton liveDVD car il pratique Linux également. Et installer "Ubuntu en mode EFI", lui il sait ce que ça veut dire.

Oui effectivement c'est un ASUS X55VD (affiché sous la machine) avec un logo Altec landing près du clavier.
Le portable en question n'étant pas le mien, je ne vais peut-être pas poursuivre s'il faut se lancer dans des MàJ du Bios !...

Oui, j'ai cru comprendre en furetant avec Google que ce modèle est équipé de haut-parleurs Altec, d'où le logo.

Dans le bios, jette un un œil dans l'onglet "advanced", si le lecteur y est, il se peut que le paramètre "legacy" et compagnie soit là.
