Installation Ubuntu Studio 13.10 ne reconnait pas windows 8 (RESOLU)

Bonjour, j'essayes d'installer Ubuntu Studio sur un PC ou est installé (pas préinstallé) windows 8.1, mais Ubuntu ne reconnaît aucun OS installé ?
Que faire dans ce cas ?

Ubuntu ne sait pas détecter la présence de Windows 7 ou Windows 8 quand ils sont installés en mode EFI*. C'est le Bug #1265192
La solution : quelque soit l'opération - première installation de Ubuntu en dual-boot, réinstallation de Ubuntu, installation d'une autre version de Ubuntu - il faut toujours, toujours sélectionner "Autre chose" à l'étape 3 de l'installation
Sinon, Windows 8 sera écrasé.

* le problème a été révélé après la sortie officielle des machines préinstallées Windows 8 (à l'automne 2012) parce que Windows 8 est toujours préinstallé en mode EFI

Autre solution possible : installer Windows 8 en mode non-EFI puis installer Ubuntu en mode non-EFI également

Bon, le disque est en 2 partitions, la libre en NTFS (partition principale) fait 231,66 Go. Si je comprend je dois diviser celle-ci en trois, swap de 4go, EXT4 de 100go et le reste en ntfs ?

Pour que je puisse mieux te conseiller, je te prie de faire un Boot-Info : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/boot-info
Avec ce Boot-Info, j'aurai des infos essentielles sur ta configuration actuelle et aussi sur le mode de démarrage (EFI ou non-EFI) de ton ordi sur ton support live de Ubuntu Studio.
D'après ton dernier post, je crois comprendre que tu souhaiterais adopter une Partition de partage de données avec Windows. Est-ce bien le cas ? Et est-ce que tu souhaiterais regrouper à terme toutes tes données dans cette partition de partage ou bien non* ?

* l'enjeu, c'est la taille à donner à cette partition commune. Si elle regroupe toutes les données, il faut faire maigrir la partition Windows (le disque C: ) de même que Ubuntu doit utiliser le moins de place possible afin de dégager le maximum de place pour les données.

Je découvre que ce que j'ai raconté dans le post #2 ne s'applique pas à ton cas parce que Windows 8 a été installé en mode non-EFI. Et de plus, je ne suis pas convaincu en étudiant le Boot-Info que ta machine est équipée de UEFI. Tu peux confirmer ? Si c'est un ordi du commerce, peux-tu donner le nom complet du modèle ainsi que le fabricant ? Sinon, donne la référence de la carte-mère si c'est une machine assemblée.

Ben pourtant ta carte-mère est UEFI. Tu as désactivé le mode UEFI au profit du mode Legacy ?
EDIT : dans la doc de ta carte-mère, je trouve ceci :

Boot Mode Selection
Allows you to select which type of operating system to boot.
UEFI and Legacy : Allows booting from operating systems that support legacy option ROM or UEFI option ROM. (Default)
Legacy Only : Allows booting from operating systems that only support legacy Option ROM.

This item is configurable only when CSM Support is set to Always.

Qu'as-tu sélectionné parmi les 3 possibilités :

Non, je ne me suis pas préoccupé de l'UEFI, en fait cette configuration devait servir à monter un hackintosh, mais Mlle ma fille en à marre de la "dictature Mac" !
Dans la Bios il y a " UEFI dualbios  " je ne vois pas où changer d'option ?

A cette adresse, j'ai trouvé une doc sur ta carte-mère qui parle du contenu de l'onglet "BIOS Features" de ton "Bios" dans lequel se trouve la rubrique "Boot Option Priorities" dont le descriptif est le suivant :

Ce que j'en comprends, c'est que tu as un système UEFI performant qui est capable de démarrer sur un périphérique en mode EFI (il faut qu'il y ait  "UEFI:" en tête) ou en mode non-EFI. Par exemple pour une liveUSB Ubuntu réalisée avec une clé USB du fabricant Kingston, tu peux avoir deux lignes de choix qui apparaissent :
UEFI:Kingston
Kingston
Si tu sélectionnes "UEFI:Kingston", l'ordi va démarrer en mode EFI sur la liveUSB et tu vas faire une installation en mode EFI --> ce n'est pas ce qu'il conviendrait de faire dans ton cas puisque Windows 8 est installé en mode non-EFI
Si tu sélectionnes "Kingston", l'ordi va démarrer en mode non-EFI sur la liveUSB et c'est ce qui convient à ton cas.

A noter que ce sera pareil pour un liveDVD Ubuntu introduit dans ton lecteur optique: si ton lecteur de DVD s'appelle samsung_xxxx, tu peux avoir deux lignes suivantes au démarrage :
UEFI:samsung_xxxx
samsung_xxxx

Pour que tu aies une proposition avec "UEFI:" il faut qu'il y ait un DVD à l'intérieur et que ledit DVD soit bootable en mode EFI. Mais en fait, on s'en fout que tu n'aies rien en UEFI puisque je t'ai expliqué plus haut que justement il faut que tu démarres en mode non-EFI sur un support live (liveDVD ou liveUSB). Ce que je te propose de faire, c'est de démarrer en mode non-EFI sur ton support live de Ubuntu Studio et de faire un Boot-Info depuis ta session live. Cela me permettra de vérifier dans ce Boot-Info que la session est bien démarrée en mode non-EFI et que tout est prêt pour installer en utilisant ce support live.

Ce serait l'idéal. Moi, je trouve que la solution un OS sur chaque disque est vraiment bien adaptée à une utilisation en mode non-EFI (installation classique en mode Bios) : ça s'installe facilement et ça s'utilise facilement. A contrario, je trouve que la même chose en installation mode EFI est délicate à l'installation : l'installateur Ubuntu veut toujours absolument placer les fichier de démarrage dans la partition EFI existante, ce qui met tous les yeux dans le même panier et va à l'encontre de l'intérêt de la chose qui est d'assurer une indépendance de chaque OS.

Bon, "Grub-amd 64-signed n'a pas pu être installé dans /target/ ?
J'ai fait une partition Swap de 16000 mb et une racine du reste  soit environ 145000 mb (disque de 160 gb)
le disque de démarrage doit-il être celui d'ubuntu ou de windows ?

qui signifie que la session live de Ubuntu Studio depuis laquelle tu as réalisé le Boot-Info était démarrée en mode EFI. C'est ça qui ne va pas : il faut absolument que tu ailles dans ton "Bios" au démarrage de l'ordi pour sélectionner le démarrage en mode non-EFI sur le liveDVD. Ce paragraphe de la doc explique comment reconnaître si la session est lancée en mode EFI ou en mode non-EFI : toi si tu vois un écran comme ça au démarrage, ça ne va pas : l'ordi démarre en mode EFI sur le liveDVD. Tant que tu démarreras avec cet écran, je te recommande de ne pas retenter l'installation.

Re : Installation Ubuntu Studio 13.10 ne reconnait pas windows 8 (RESOLU)

Bonjour, je suis une "clenche" , je viens enfin de comprendre comment démarrer en non EFI ! OK, dois-je faire l'install à côté de windows où choisir "autre".
Si je choisi "autre"  avec les 2 partitions citées plus haut (swap et racine) cela suffirait-il ? ou faut-il une autre partition pour le partage avec windows ?

Je doute que tu sois une véritable clenche. Pourrais-tu expliquer ce que tu faisais jusqu'ici (et qui faisait que tu démarrais en mode EFI) et bien expliquer ce que tu fais maintenant pour bien maîtriser la chose et parvenir à démarrer en mode non-EFI (donne des détails : pour ceux qui ont le même modèle d'ordi que toi et qui tomberont sur cette discussion, c'est important)

De toute façon il faut toujours prendre "Autre chose", y compris si tu devais réinstaller dans quelques jours ou quelques mois parce que l'installateur de Ubuntu est bogué comme je t'ai expliqué dans le post #2. Quant au choix avec ou sans partition de partage, ça dépend de chacun : certains veulent cloisonner entre leur install Ubuntu et leur Windows parce qu'ils estiment que par la mise en commun des données, on peut refiler des virus à Windows (Ubuntu, porteur sain de virus Windowsiens, les transmet aux données communes et Windows est infecté). Moi, je ne sais pas si seulement c'est théoriquement possible mais personnellement j'utilise depuis des années la partition de partage en NTFS commune à Windows et Ubuntu et je n'ai eu à supposer qu'une seule fois que ce pb de contamination par Ubuntu porteur sain avait pu se produire, et encore je n'en suis pas du tout sûr (comment être sûr de quelque chose dans ce domaine). En bref, oui je te conseille une partition de partage en NTFS qui soit de la taille la plus grande possible, quitte à faire maigrir toutes les autres partitions...

C'est simple, la Bios étant réglée pour démarrer sur le lecteur optique, je n'ai jamais pensé taper F12 au démarrage pour choisir UEFI ou autre chose !

Enfin ont y es arrivé les deux OS cohabitent . Je dit "ont" car sans toi Malbo j'y serais jamais arrivé ! Je viens de l'univers Mac , j'y suis depuis 1995, mon premier Mac. Windows et moi ça date du 3.11 et dos 6.22 ! J'ai installé plusieurs fois des linux mais comme OS unique.
