Comment configurer clavier externe pour portable sous feisty ?

Bonsoir à tous. En ce moment j'ai de gros problèmes avec mon ordi qui s'éteint tout seul. Je dois pour le maintenir allumé mettre une pile de livres sur le clavier et le repose-main lol car sinon il y a un faux contact qui se déclenche. je ne peux donc pas utiliser le clavier de mon portable. Cependant j'ai un vieux clavier ps/2 de pc de bureau chez moi que j'ai branché à mon portable via un adaptateur ps/2-usb ( je ne peux pas emboîter la prise ps/2 de ce clavier dans l'entrée ps/2 de mon ordi qui est légèrement différente). Mais voilà ça ne marche pas j'ai un msg hub 1-0:1.0: Cannot enable port 1.  Maybe the USB cable is bad? qui s'affiche au démarrage de la machine qui ne semble pas reconnaître le clavier. Ce clavier n'est pas de marque ce qu'il y a de plus basique. Mais j'en ai vraiment besoin là car un pc sans clavier c'est comme....:rolleyes: bref ! voici mon dmesg:

je me rends compte qu'ubuntu est dépourvu d'assistant d'installation de périphériques en gros c'est du hit or miss.  bon c'est vrai aussi qu'il y a pas de drivers mais pourtant ma souris optique donc usb marche parfaitement en hotplug. Qqun a -til une idée sur ce que je peux essayer de faire ?  J'ai déjà essayé un

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg

sans succès...:/

une question simple a tu testé avec un autre adaptateur ? parce que j'utilise une config similaire a mon travail et j'ai pas de problème.
