GRUB, dual boot et 2 disques durs
Bonjour à tous,
Je dispose d'un ordinateur qui dispose de deux disque durs, l'un SSD (Windows est dessus) (sda) et un disque dur mécanique (sdb).
J'ai voulu installer Ubuntu (version 12.04 LTS) sur ma machine et, comme un génie (en fait non), j'ai cliqué sur l'option "installer Windows et Ubuntu côte à côte". Ubuntu s'est donc logiquement installé sur le disque dur mécanique, sdb (j'ai vérifié avec GParted en Live CD).
Le problème, c'est qu'au démarrage de mon ordinateur, GRUB ne s'affiche pas et Windows boote directement.
J'imagine donc que GRUB s'est installé sur le mauvais disque, mals lequel ?
Et surtout, comment faire pour 1) avoir GRUB opérationnel et 2) pouvoir booter Ubuntu OU Windows ?
J'ai envisagé d'utiliser l'outil boot-repair, mais je ne veux pas me retrouver avec un ordi que ne plus démarrer Windows, j'en ai besoin pour mon travail !
Que me suggérez-vous de faire ?

Windows installé en mode BIOS classique, pas UEFI (j'ai déjà vérifié dans le BIOS et dans Windows)

Peux-tu préciser le nom complet de ton modèle d'ordi et son fabricant ?
Depuis une session live(*) de Ubuntu, peux-tu faire un Boot-Info : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/boot-info
(*) utilise le support live qui t'a servi pour l'install de Ubuntu 12.04

C'est un ordi que j'ai monté moi-même... Ce que je puis te dire, en tout cas, c'est que la carte mère est une Gygabite, le processeur un i3, que je n'ai pas de carte graphique et que j'ai installé 8 Go de RAM. Le SSD est un Samsung (EVO 840, je crois), et le SSD un Seagate de 1Go.
Je te poste le Boot-Info dans quelques minutes !

Je t'écris depuis une Live session, d'où j'ai lancé le Boot-Info. Le rapport est ici : http://paste.ubuntu.com/8121357/ .
A noter également, pendant le processus de Boot Info, il m'a sorti un message d'erreur à propos d'un de mes disques durs externes :
"Unable to mount Seagate Expansion Drive
Error mounting: mount exited with exit code 16: Mount is denied because the NTFS volume is already exclusively opened.
The volume may be already mounted, or another software may use it which
could be identified for example by the help of the 'fuser' command."
Veux-tu que je te fasse un autre boot-info sans aucun disque dur externe connecté ?

Avant toute chose, si tu n'as pas de DVD d'install de Windows 7, il faut te faire un CD de récupération comme expliqué là : http://www.zebulon.fr/astuces/248-creer … ows-7.html
Motif : il faut pouvoir remettre le chargeur d'amorçage de Windows 7 dans le SSD si d'aventure Boot-Repair l'écrase.
Quand ce sera fait, tu pourras faire la "Réparation recommandée" de Boot-Repair. Puisque Boot-Repair affiche ses intentions dans cet extrait :

C'est correct. Tu fais donc comme tu as fait pour faire le Boot-Info mais cette fois tu cliques sur "Réparation recommandée". Mais attention, il faudra que tu veilles à avoir l'accès internet.

Soit je me re-crée une clé USB d'installation de Windows 7, soit je ferai un CD de récupération comme indiqué dans le tuto que m'as indiqué.

J'espère que tu as noté que c'est facultatif : si tu as installé Windows 7 toi-même, tu dois disposer d'un DVD d'installation de Windows 7 et avec ce DVD, tu peux faire la réparation du démarrage de Windows 7 (tuto ici). Je veux dire que tu n'es pas obligé d'avoir un CD (ou une clé USB) spécial pour la récupération de Win7.

J'ai juste une minuscule question : en utilisant boot-repair, je ne risque quand même pas de me retrouver avec Ubuntu opérationnel mais Windows qui ne booterait pas ?
J'ai un peu peur de me retrouver sans Windows, j'en ai besoin pour mon travail !

A ce moment là, tu déconnectes physiquement ton Samsung SSD 840 qui contient Windows, comme ça la réparation par Boot-Repair ne pourra pas l'atteindre. Quand la réparation sera faite, tu vas redémarrer sur le menu Grub et vérifier que Ubuntu fonctionne. puis tu suivras les étapes suivantes :
1) ordi éteint, rebranche le Samsung SSD 840
2) redémarre l'ordi : c'est encore le menu Grub qui doit apparaître (bien que tu aies rebranché le SSD). Tu démarres sur Ubuntu.
3) depuis ta session Ubuntu, tu passes dans un terminal la commande de mise à jour de Grub :
sudo update-grub
Cette commande entraînera automatiquement une suite d'opérations dont la détection de la présence de Win7 et au final elle mettra à jour l'entrée "Windows 7 (loader)..." qui pointe sur Win7 dans le menu Grub.
4) au redémarrage, tu arriveras toujours sur le menu de Grub : tu sélectionneras l'entrée "Windows 7 (loader)..." pour vérifier que Windows 7 se lance et fonctionne.
5) Tu redémarres l'ordi mais tu vas directement dans le Boot Menu de ton ordi (il faut appuyer sur une touche au redémarrage : lis la notice de ton Bios pour savoir de quelle touche il s'agit) et tu sélectionnes le Samsung SSD 840 : Windows 7 doit se lancer.
Finalement, tu dois obtenir deux façons de démarrer Windows 7 :
Boot Menu > Samsung SSD 840 > Windows 7 démarre
Boot Menu > WD10EZEX-08M (ton disque dur) > menu Grub > entrée pour Windows 7 > Windows 7 démarre

Es-tu sûr de ceci, Malbo ? J'aurais personnellement conseillé de permuter les deux disques dans l'ordre de boot du bios, car si l'ordre est maintenu, sda (le loader de W7 sur ssd) devrait en toute logique se lancer avant grub, qui sera sur sdb. Mais j'ai peut-être raté une étape.

@ikewdu : quand il y a un seul lecteur dans l'ordi, le Bios change la priorité de boot pour la mettre sur le seul lecteur qu'il voit. Si après cela on branche un autre lecteur, ce deuxième lecteur passe en deuxième priorité de boot. C'est le fonctionnement que j'ai déjà eu l'occasion de vérifier sur quelques ordis mais s'il s'avère que ça se passe différemment pour Koenigsegg, je pense qu'il saura quoi faire. Le but final, c'est d'obtenir ce que j'ai mentionné plus haut :
Boot Menu > Samsung SSD 840 > Windows 7 démarre
Boot Menu > WD10EZEX-08M (ton disque dur) > menu Grub > entrée pour Windows 7 > Windows 7 démarre

Sinon, il peut toujours y avoir une autre solution (éventuellement) en repartant de zéro :
1) Effacer les partitions d'Ubuntu sur le disque mécanique
2) Le débrancher physiquement
3) Installer Ubuntu à côté de Windows sur le SSD...
Est-ce faisable ?
L'idée est que du coup, Ubuntu serait aussi sur le SSD, avait les bénéfices que cette solution propose (plus grande vitesse d'exécution etc)

C'est un euphémisme... C'est même super risqué....
Une fausse manip de l'utilisateur et plus de windows... Je ne parle même pas du bug de l'installateur (de mémoire, c'est rectifié) qui effaçait le disque alors qu'il ne devait pas le faire.

Ce n'est plus dangereux qu'une simple installation si on s'y prend bien. Le problème, c'est que visiblement tu ne sais pas ce que tu veux et que tu génères des interventions inutiles. Fais un choix et tiens-toi à cela.
