impossible de se connecter avec mon utilisateur sous Gnome

A l'aide !

Après un reboot standard, je ne peux plus me logger avec mon utilisateur.
je peux seulement le faire en session Xterm. puis la je lance sudo startx et cela fonctionne mais je suis en root
par contre si dans la session Xterm je lance un startx j'ai un message qui me dit que l'utilisateur n'a pas l'autorisation de lancer le serveur X car un fichier ne peut etre locké. ?

Une idée?

C'est peut être pas bon main fait un :

sudo chmod 777 /tmp

J'ai eu un problème similaire sur une Fedora Core 3.

Hélas cela n'a pas fonctionné

J'ai récupéré cela dans mon home dans le fichier .xsession-errors

Oui, Je viens de trouver ça dans le forum, et oui en en ouvrant une session Xterm et en faisant rm .ICEauthority puis en me reconnectant ça marche pour moi smile

NeoOlivier essais, c'est sans doute la solution pour toi aussi wink

Moi j'ai un peu le même problème. Je peux lancer le bureau avec sudo startx mais je ne peux pas démarrer sous mon nom d'utilisateur : only root wants to run kdm. Pourtant j'ai configuré l'autologin dans les préférences de kde. Je suis dubitatif...

As-tu bien fait comme indiqué ci-dessus :

rm /home/ton_user/.*authority*

et plutot que startx, fais

sudo /etc/init.d/kdm start &

J'ai un problème similaire, suite à la mise à jour de Hoary vers Breezy.

En fait, il me semble que la mise à jour a merdé :
un certain nombre de paquets n'avaient pas été mis à jour (je les ai mis à jour quand je m'en suis rendu compte),
et d'autres avaient purement été supprimés sans être réinstallés (je m'en suis rendu compte pour certains, mais il se peut que d'autres paquets aient été supprimés)...

Bon, je ne sais pas d'où ça vient, mais le problème n'est pas là, mais bien dans l'accès au serveur X par l'utilisateur.

Sauf que moi, je n'ai pas tout à fait le même message dans .xsession-errors :

Re : impossible de se connecter avec mon utilisateur sous Gnome

NB: autre détail, si ça peut aider qqs-uns à faire un diagnostique :

Pour l'instant, j'utilise mon ordi en me connectant en "session de sauvegarde xterm" depuis gdm.
J'ai un écran marron, avec une fenêtre de terminal en bas à droite, et à partir de là, je peux lancer les programmes (y compris ceux qui fonctionnent en mode graphique... par exemple firefox en ce moment) depuis le terminal.
(le seul truc, c'est que la barre de titre de la fenêtre ne s'affiche pas, mais sinon, les programmes fonctionnent bien... sauf que pour certains, je dois les lancer avec sudo)

... et tout à l'heure, en lançant nautilus, j'ai mon fond d'écran original qui apparait, + qqs-unes de mes icônes de bureau, en même temps que nautilus s'ouvre...
... par contre, lorsque je ferme nautilus, je n'ai plus la main dans le terminal, et je suis obligé de faire CTRL-ALT-BACKSPCE pour redémarrer la session...
