installer ubuntu 14.04 sur disque dur usb en UEFI
Bonjour,
Animateur du club informatique de mon village dans le but de faire découvrir le monde du logiciel libre.
Nombreuses lectures sur EFI et GPT, mais quelques doutes exixtent.
- Caractéristiques du matériel :
portable ASUS x75A-TY043V BIOS-EFI
Windows 7
mémoire : 4 go
processeur : intel pentium B970
Voici la procédure que j'ai exécutée pour installer la 14.04 internationale sur le disque usb :
J'ai partitionné le disque usb en gpt : une partition efi, une partition système, une swap et une home avec une version récente de gparted.
J'ai installé ubuntu en utilisant l'option "autre chose" ce qui m'a permis de modifier les partitions ci-dessus. J'ai modifié l'emplacement du programme de démarrage (disque usb) mais je crois qu'il n'en est pas tenu compte puisque c'est depuis la partition"efi" que s'effectue le démarrage.
j'ai redémarré le système. J'ai pu me connecter à mon compte. Quelques jours plus tard, le disque dur,
n'était plus reconnu.
Fallait-il désactiver certains paramètres dans le BIOS-EFI ?
Quelles erreurs aurais-je commis ?
A l'avance je remercie tout ceux qui peuvent m'aider.

Stp . Sans rien faire d'autre que ceci...
Hdd usb branché, depuis une session live Ubuntu, puisque ton Ubuntu ne démarre plus.
Faire un rapport boot info;

Et poster l'URL dans ton prochain message, pour que l'on voit comment est installé tout çà. Merci.

J'ai découvert Ubuntu avec la 07.10.... Et alors?!... Depuis je regarde de temps en temps si Windows marche toujours....

La raison c'est que ce dernier n'est pas bootable en mode EFI : on peut seulement booter dessus en mode non-EFI (Legacy mode). Je te conseille de virer ce DVD merdique à la poubelle et d'oublier Boot-Repair-Disk. Je te recommande d'utiliser une bonne vieille LiveUSB Ubuntu 14.04.1 64 bits (la même version que celle que tu as installée, c'est à dire équipée d'un noyau 3.13.0-x). Si tu n'en as pas, je te conseille ma recette pour la réaliser depuis Windows : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=16713311
Quand ce sera fait, je te prie de démarrer en mode EFI sur cette Live-USB et de faire un Boot-Info. Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

Lorsqu'on choisis d'installer ubuntu sur disque externe, il peut y avoir deux raisons.
A) ne pas vouloir n ou pouvoir rétrécir windows.
B) vouloir que cette installation fonctionne sur d'autres ordinateurs
Cependant avec un micro EFI, des pièges existent mais on peut les désamorcer
A) Le disque externe doit être connecté pour booter classiquement
=> contournement, faire la sélection de booter windows par le bios et non par le menu qu grub.
Mais cela va certainement remettre windows prioriraire.
B) le boot avec un autre ordinateur n'est pas possible si
L'ordinateur n'est pas positionné en EFI
et cela ne suffit pas. Il faut soit réparer soir préparer

pour le moment, je n'ai pas de mode d'emploi pour un ACER
==> je regarde en détail son démarrage, car il y aura peut-être un ennui pour l'allocation du répertoire /boot/efi

Bonsoir,
Notre problème est résolu. Lorsque nous avons installé ubuntu 14.04 internationale sur le disque dur USB, nous avons changé le support pour y stocker le chargeur. Ce qu'il ne fallait pas faire. Nous avons réinstallé ubuntu sur le disque dur USB partitionné en GPT sans changer de valeur prédéfinie quant à l'emplacement du chargeur. Ubuntu fonctionne.

Ton expérience m'intéresse beaucoup (et je pense que ça intéresse aussi Babdu89) et je voudrais être certain d'avoir bien tout compris suite à ton dernier post. Pour cela, je te prie de démarrer une session sur ton Ubuntu installé et - depuis cette session - de faire un Boot-Info. Tu donneras l'URL de ce Boot-Info dans ta réponse.

Ah çà c'est sûr!!. Même si je n'ai pas de machines en UEFI à la maison.
J'aimerai bien savoir comment se comporte le démarrage d'un disque USB, qui reçoit une installation en UEFI, lorsqu'on le branche sur d'autres machines de type UEFI, que celle qui a servi à l'installation.

Merci de m'avoir contacté par mail.
Dans notre club, peu d'adhérents possèdent des matériels récents (moi le premier). Pour expérimenter des innovations tels que le partitionnement "GPT"...etc, puis installer un système , nous sommes contraints de travailler, hors club, pour ne pas perturber l'activité de celui-ci et selon nos disponibilités. C'est pourquoi, nos interventions sur le forum sont espacées.
Demain mardi, avec ma collègue, propriétaire du matériel à partir duquel nous avons réalisé notre expérience, nous exécuterons un boot-info, puis nous te transmettrons son URL.
Puis, mercredi soir, nous testerons notre installation à partir d'un portable MSI récent, et te communiquerons nos observations.

N'oubliez pas de régler votre BIOS pour qu'il amorce sur le disque sdb (1000GB) !
Les fichiers de démarrage de [L'OS actuellement utilisé - Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS] sont loin du début du disque. Votre BIOS pourrait ne pas les détecter. Vous voudrez peut-être re-essayer après avoir créé une partition /boot (EXT4, >200MB, en début de disque). Cela peut être réalisé via des outils tels que gParted. Puis sélectionnez cette partition via l'option [Partition /boot séparée :] de [Boot-Repair]. (http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/tutoriel/partition_boot)
Si votre ordinateur redémarre directement sur Windows, essayez de changer l'ordre de démarrage dans votre BIOS.
Si votre BIOS ne permet pas de changer l'ordre de démarrage, changez l'entrée de démarrage par défaut de l'amorceur Windows.

En conclusion : ton Ubuntu installé sur le disque dur USB démarre sur cet ordi sans utiliser la partition EFI sdb1 (celle qui se trouve sur le disque dur USB). Ce Ubuntu installé ne connaît que la partition sda1 qui se trouve sur le disque dur interne. Ton post plus haut m’avait laissé supposer que tu avais trouvé la solution magique mais ce n'est pas le cas : l'installation en mode EFI sur un disque dur externe ne fonctionne pas et on a eu une discussion récente sur le sujet (ça commence à ce post) et il en ressort que c'est l'installation en mode NON-efi qui convient le mieux sur un disque dur externe selon ce post de Babdu89.

Ce disque dur externe, lorsqu'il est monté sur un support USB d'un autre ordinateur dont le boot est prioritaire,
boote via un fichier qui s'appelle /efi/boot/grubx64.efi (souviens-toi de SG2D) qui ne me semble pas présent non plus.
Mais ubuntu en EFI peut très bien se passer de /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu, il y aura simplement un message au démarrage disant que la partition est manquante, et il faudra accepter le Skip de cette partition en répondant Yes à la question "S"
après un petit coup de blkid pour trouver et rectifier.
Mais ce qui est important de regarder, c'est le contenu du fichier.
"SDB1"/efi/boot/grub.cfg car c'est lui qui va diriger le démarrage de ubuntu.

Il est bon de rappeler qu'un ordinateur qui boote en EFI ne sait pas mettre le logiciel nécessaire à une instance NON-EFI... Mais un petit coup de boot-repair sur un disque interne résous le problème, J'en suis mois sur pour un disque externe.
Donc pour faire un disque de boot non EFI, il faut déjà que l'ordinateur qui fabrique soit lancé en mode non-EFI.
car il n'a pas fabriqué de MBR!!:

@Bougron ; Si tu penses que ça vaut le coup d'améliorer son installation, fais tes suggestions à lucques. Moi j'ai expliqué ce que je voyais et j'ai dit ce que j'en pensais dans le post #18 : à présent, je vais me contenter de suivre la discussion si j'y arrive.

Avec mon micro EFI, Je n'ai jamais réussi à fabriquer un disque qui bootait en LEGACY!
1) le MBR du disque n'est pas renseigné.
=> No boot loader is installed in the MBR of /dev/sdb.
2) Sur un disque formaté GPT, on sait qu'une installation LEGACY n'est pas facile. Il faut une partition non formatée de 1Mo avec le drapeau BIOS_GRUB.
Lors de mes essais, le logiciel permettant de garnir cette partition était absent. J'avais un peu cherché et trouvé que l'absence était volontaire afin qu'il y ait pas de confusion. Je n'ai pas encore eu le temps de regarder comment cela va se passer avec la 15.10.
Pour fabriquer un disque LEGACY, il faut un ordinateur qui a booté en LEGACY. je suis le premier à dire que c'est plus simple.
Mais dans ce contexte particulier, il manque un certain nombre de choses. En reprenant du tuto
Il est nécessaire de monter les partitions fat32 des disques externe et interne et de faire la commande de duplication cp -R /media/ubuntu/'identifiant partition FAT32 du disque interne'/EFI/ubuntu /media/ubuntu/ESPusb/EFI
=>> Cette action me semble bien faite.
L'installation de ubuntu dans la partition de boot interne a fait quelques dégâts qu'il faut rapidement corriger tant que nous sommes en live-usb et que les partitions de boot sont montées. En effet, lors de l'installation, le boot a eu lieu avec une clé USB montée sur /dev/sdb, le disque externe est alors monté sur /dev/sdc. Toute la structure de boot de ubuntu a été enregistrée comme devant booter avec /dev/sdc2. Or bientôt, on va démonter la live USB et le disque de boot deviendra /dev/sdb2. Si le micro doit continuer à booter avec un ubuntu interne, il est nécessaire de modifier le fichier qui pilote le démarrage du grub pour lui faire remettre l'ancienne valeur. C'est le moment d'écraser le fichier grub.cfg par grub.REFERENCE. Si vous avez oublié de sauvegarder, il est assez facile de reconstituer le fichier. La commande sudo blkid redonnera les références de la partition qui contient le ubuntu précédant ainsi que son n° d'ordre.
==> Je pense que cette action est faite car autrement, le micro aurait cessé de booter dès l'instant où le disque externe aurait été déconnecté.
Mais peut-être qu'il n'a pas encore été déconnecté!
C'est le moment de supprimer ce qui se rattache encore au disque interne. Il faut corriger le contenu de fichier /etc/fstab. de la nouvelle partition de démarrage: Suppression de la ligne de swap qui référencie le disque interne pour ne conserver que celle qui référencie le disque externe. Rectification de l'UUID du répertoire /boot/efi pour le faire pointer sur celui qu'on a construit de toute pièce.
Cela manifestement, m'a pas été fait.
Pour la suite, suivant l'utilisation qui en sera faite
Utilisation par un micro EFI ayant déjà un grub.
La méthode simple est de lancer le micro classiquement et de faire une commande 'sudo update-grub' afin qu'il incorpore cette partition à sa liste de boot. Ultérieurement, si le choix de cette partition est fait, il faudra que le disque externe soit branché. Sinon il n'a pas besoin de l'être.
Utilisation par un micro EFI n'ayant pas de grub
Nous allons dire que ce disque USB va être utilisé comme une clé USB d'installation de ubuntu. Pour cela il faut encore bricoler un peu… En premier on va créer la structure de boot classique d'une clé USB à savoir la création du répertoire /media/ubuntu/ESPusb/EFI/boot puis il faudra copier le fichier de démarrage grubx64.efi actuellement présent dans le répertoire /media/ubuntu/ESPusb/EFI/ubuntu puis on renommera ce fichier en bootx64.efi. Dans le doute on recommencera la copie pour avoir les deux principaux fichiers de boot présents. Il faut maintenant s'intéresser de nouveau au fichier de paramétrage grub.cfg qu'il faut modifier pour prendre en compte que la partition de boot sera le disque 0 et non le disque 2. Cette modification faite, il faut aussi le transférer. Vous pouvez alors arrêter la live session de ubuntu et perdre la clé d'installation. Vous avez maintenant un disque externe opérationnel pour tous les micros EFI y compris le votre. Vous pouvez enfin quitter la session live

Remarque personnelle: Mon micro qui date de 2006 n'est pas capable de booter sur un support externe au format GPT avec une première partition en FAT32.
