Partition Ubuntu désallouée suite à une màj Win7 vers Win10
Bonjour,
j'avais installé Windows 7 en dual-boot avec Ubuntu 15.04. Ce dernier était installé sur 3 partitions, une ext4 pour /, une ext4 pour /home (avec chiffrement) et un swap.
J'ai eu la bonne idée ce matin de mettre à jour Windows vers Windows 10. Apres 25%, l'ordi s'est relancé... pour rester bloquer avant l'affichage de GRUB. J'ai alors rebooté de nouveau pour arriver au grub-rescue.
Apres recherche, j'ai lancé un live-usb 15.04 et j'ai installé boot-repair. J'ai lancé la reparation automatique. Malheureusement sans succès. Voici le lien vers les infos :

Je n'arrive pas a me dépatouiller du problème. J'avoue que ma priorité est de pouvoir lancer Ubuntu et accéder à mes données sur /home. Mon PC est un HP Pavillon dv6 6165sf.

grub cherche à demarrer sur la partition msdos7 (qui n'existe pas)
linux est sur sda5 (soit msdos5)
à priori tu dois reinstaller grub

Il me semble (mais je peux me tromper) que ce soit /home qui soit sur sda5.
Lorsque je lance GParted, j'ai ceci :
/dev/sda4 : extended 259.18GiB
unallocated : unallocated 23.35 GiB
/dev/sda5 : ext4 229.35 GiB
/dev/sda6 : linux-swap 7.48 GiB
Il me semble bien que j'avais installé Ubuntu avec / sur une partition d'en gros 20Go, donc il serait sur la partie "unallocated". Il faut que je me renseigne sur la réinstallation de GRUB… Je pense qu'il est possible de récupérer mes données en repartitionnant cette partie "unallocated", mais si la réparation de GRUB pouvait tout remettre dans l'ordre, ça m'arrangerait

Comment était installé exactement ton Ubuntu?.
Tout sur le disque Hitachi de 750 Go?
Si c'est çà, dans la partition étendue /dev/sda4 on ne voit que deux partition Linux.
/sda5 ext4 ,sans autre précision et /sda6 swap.
on voit ceci dans le boot info;

for (,msdos7)/boot/grub.
Çà veut dire que l'on devrait voir une partition /sda7 marquée /boot.
Elle n'est plus là!.
Il y a un hd externe TOSHIBA External USB 3.0 de 1,5 To
Avec une partition Linux ext4 dedans
2 210GB 1500GB 1291GB primary ext4 boot
en plus marquée /boot.
Le souci çà va être le chiffrement, pour avoir accès aux données???...

J'ai découvert Ubuntu avec la 07.10.... Et alors?!... Depuis je regarde de temps en temps si Windows marche toujours....

docn ce n'est pas grub qui est en carafe mais la partition sda7 qui n'existe plus → unallocated ?
à moins d'erreurs physiques ou d'une grosse bourde lors d'un precedent partitionnage ?
→ passer testdisk dessus sda7 pour retrouver les donnees et les sauver (temporairement pour pouvoir dechiffrer la /home)

Bon, si j'ai bien compris, il y a bien /dev/sda7 qui devrait être à la place de la partie "unallocated". Durant la tentative de réparation par Boot Repair, j'avais effectivement un disque externe branché (pour voir si je pouvais copier des fichiers de Windows), ce disque ayant deux partitions - l'une en NTFS, l'autre en EXT4.
J'ai un peu de mal à comprendre ce que Windows a fait. Je pense pouvoir réinstaller Ubuntu en repartitionnant la zone unallocated en EXT4 et en préservant la partition /home (j'ai la clé de chiffrement), mais cela voudra-t-il dire que si ensuite je veux continuer la mise à jour de Windows le problème ressurgira ? L'installation d'Ubuntu (et des logiciels qui m'intéresse) prend un certain temps avec ma connexion internet (65ko/s), je ne voudrais pas me lancer tête baissée dans une procédure qu'il faudra renouveler plusieurs fois s'il y a une solution plus simple
Pour info, testdisk n'est plus dispo dans les dépôts Ubuntu - et si je me souviens bien, il nécessite pas mal de temps à s'exécuter, non ?

Je n'avais accès à rien, le redémarrage de mon portable me donnait au mieux accès au grub-rescue…
Finalement j'ai lancé une installation d'Ubuntu en formatant la zone désallouée en ext4 et en utilisant le /home existant (heureusement qu'elle était intact !). Non seulement cela m'a donné accès à un GRUB fonctionnant, mais en plus cela m'a permis de terminer l'installation de Windows 10. La journée a finalement été perdue, mais pas mes données (que ce soit sous Ubuntu ou sous Windows). Pfiou…

NB : c'est le 2ème cas en une semaine, où le passage de win7 à win10 rend une partition ext4 "non allouée" !

apparement, micro$oft on vraiment décidé de forcer les gens à revenir sur leur OS tout pourris, en réalité, c'est super marrant ce qu'ils font, car ils savent très bien en réalité si il y a des ext4 dans le disque, là où ces super sympa c'est quand dans le programme d'install il dis pas si c'est du ntfs,du ext4 ou autre chose, donc si on se retrouve dans cette situation:
partitions:
-/dev/sda
-/dev/sdb1===>ntfs 100go
-dev/sdb2===>ext4 100go
-/dev/sdb3===>unallocated 100go
et que ont sait plus lequel est la partition windaube ou lequel est la partition linux lors de l'install windaube n°125223463 et vu qu'on le dis pas et ben c'est la roulette russe!
et si on a le malheur de choisir "installation automatique(recommandé)" et bah là on se retrouve avec micro$oft qui en profite pour désallouer une partition contenant tout vos documents, photos, musiques...
grâce à ça je pense que la prochaine version de boot-repair-disk contiendra l'option "réparer les conneries de micro$oft" qui serviras à réallouer la partition en ext4...

Ce que je comprendrais dans le comportement de la mise à niveau des Windows, c'est que le disque soit entièrement ré-alloué à Windows, ce sans prévenir.
Mais là aller fouiller dans la partition étendue et désallouer une partition ext4 , et le système en plus, çà serait "vicelard". D'autant plus que ce n'est pas systématique. Il y a des mises à niveaux vers Windows10 réussies sans "flinguer" le dual boot.
Quoique avec l'UEFI il y en a qui se plaignent. Un des Os ne redémarre pas, mais toutes les partitions sont là.

Sans en avoir la certitude, j'ai l'impression qu'une mise à niveau de windows7 souvent installé en LEGACY par windows 10 sur un disque GPT, installe automatiquement une partition EFI . (Trois cas rencontrés ces derniers jours).
Mais qui aurait donc l'idée de conseiller une mise à niveau de ubuntu 7.4 en ubuntu 16.04.
Windows 10 a encore plus d'un an pour ne plus être gratuit. J'ai préféré installer un windows 10 au lieu de faire une mise à niveau de windows XP. Et je n'ai absolument pas pu lui faire utiliser une partition EXT4, Il a fallu que je la supprime avec GPARTED pour avoir de l'espace inutilisé.

La partition sda7 qui a disparu se trouvait avant (*) la partition sda5 et je suppose qu'elle a été virée par le logiciel de mise à niveau vers Windows 10 pour cette raison. Pour ce logiciel, il semble que les partitions logiques doivent se trouver placées dans l'ordre de leur numéro. Dans sa vision simpliste du monde, s'il trouve une partition placée avant la partition sda5, cette partition n'existe pas donc il la vire.
(*) Je veux dire que cette partition sda7 était placée entre 921,604,094 et 968,478,720 alors que la partition sda5 se trouve entre 968,478,720 et 1,449,465,855 suivant ce qui est indiqué dans la partie "Drive/Partition Info" du Boot-Info.

Je viens de mettre en évidence le mécanisme de destruction de partition(s) Linux par Windows. J'ai fait ça en virtualisation avec VMware Player. J'ai choisi d'utiliser Windows 10 mais je suis certain que ça aurait été pareil avec Windows7 et Windows 8.
1) État de départ : Une partition NTFS a été créé depuis Win10 en début de disque dur. Avec Gparted - lancé depuis une session Live de Ubuntu 14.04.1 - je créé une partition étendue, puis je fais exprès de créer dedans des partitions logiques Linux dans l'ordre inverse, c'est à dire la première partition créée vers la fin de la partition étendue, la deuxième partition vers le milieu et la troisième vers le début de la partition étendue. J'obtiens ça :
2) Je redémarre sous Windows 10 et je regarde ce que ça donne depuis la gestion des disques de Win10 :
On peut constater que les partitions Linux sont vues correctement.
3) Pour simuler la création de la partition "Hidden NTFS" qui se produit lors de la mise à jour gratuite vers Win10, toujours depuis la gestion des disques de Win10 je lance la création d'une partition primaire NTFS (label "toto" donné ultérieurement) dans l'espace libre qui se trouve avant la partition étendue :
4) après que j'ai cliqué sur Suivant pour la création effective de cette partition, c'est le drame :
Il y a eu écriture de la table de partition par Win10 qui a accompli sa sinistre besogne dans la partition étendue : il a gardé la partition sdc5 mais il a viré les partition sdc6 et sdc7.
5) Avec Gparted lancé depuis une session live de Ubuntu, on peut confirmer les dégâts :
Conclusion :
Si on veut éviter d'avoir des ennuis en cohabitation avec Windows, que ce soit lors d'une réinstallation de Windows ou bien lors de la "mise à jour" gratuite vers Win10 (en fait, il s'agit d'une mise à niveau), il convient de s'assurer que la numérotation des partitions logiques est bien dans l'ordre d'installation dans la partition étendue, c'est à dire sda5 au début de la partition étendue, sda6 à la suite puis sda7, etc... Si la partition sda5 se trouve en fin de partition étendue, c'est sûr que toutes les autres partitions logiques sont appelées à disparaître, virées par Windows.
EDIT le 31 août 2015 : dans l'essai ci-dessus, les partitions logiques se trouvaient dans l'ordre sdc7, sdc6, sdc5 et Windows a viré les partitions sdc7 et sdc6. J'ai refait un essai avec les partitions logiques dans l'ordre sdc7, sdc5, sdc6 et le résultat obtenu c'est que Windows a viré la partition sdc7 seulement.

Ce que je comprendrais dans le comportement de la mise à niveau des Windows, c'est que le disque soit entièrement ré-alloué à Windows, ce sans prévenir.
Mais là aller fouiller dans la partition étendue et désallouer une partition ext4 , et le système en plus, çà serait "vicelard".
Merci tu as confirmé que c'est vicelard!.
Si pas mal d'installations présentent ce problème ; manips de partitions dans la partitions étendue, en en supprimant et recréant d'autres, les partitions ne sont dans l'ordre du disque et c'est le drame lors de la mise à niveau de Windows.
Un Os qui fait vraiment comme si il était seul sur le disque!...

@Babdu89 : ce pb de Windows qui met le binz dans la partition étendue, ça ne doit pas dater d'hier et on n'y fait pas gaffe parce qu'il y a un cas de temps en temps de disparition de partition lors d'une réinstallation de Windows et on met ça sur le compte de personne. Mais à l'occasion de cette mise à jour gratuite vers Win10, on peut mieux voir fleurir les cas sur le forum (et ailleurs parce que ça doit pousser aussi sur les forums des autres distributions). Tu as été plus rapide que moi (je comptais faire le test demain). Ce qui serait maintenant intéressant, ce serait de savoir si testdisk est capable de rétablir la situation. En tout cas, si ça se confirme, la mise à niveau de W7 à W10 va faire des dégâts chez ceux qui ont un dual-boot.

Visiblement, le problème ne se pose pas avec W7. J'ai ajouté la partition "sda3" directement depuis le gestionnaire de disque de W7. Le partitionneur a créé de lui-même un petit espace libre de 2 Mo qui a permis de ne pas faire sauter la partition étendue.

Les partitions logiques /sda5 /sda6 /sda7 sont dans l'ordre du disque, dans la partition étendue /sda4 . Donc Windows ne met pas le bazar, comme dans la démonstration faite par malbo . Qu'en aurait été-t-il, si la partition /sda5 avait été créée en fin de partition étendue. Et les autres devant en début de partition étendue. ???.

Mes essais du post #15 montraient que Windows 10 est buggé mais je n'avais aucun doute sur le fait que ce problème affectait également Windows 8 et Windows 7. Ton essai du post #24 confirme bien que Windows 7 est buggé.
