Problème passage mode graphique Ubuntu 14.04

Bonjour,

J'ai cherché sur ce forum la solution à mon problème sans la trouver, je vous explique donc mon problème en espérant que vous aurez une solution, merci d'avance !

J'ai installé Ubuntu 14.04 à côté de mon Windows 8 il y a peu de temps, tout marchait très bien (j'en faisais une utilisation basique : internet, éditions de textes...), mais dernièrement j'ai du faire une bêtise (peut-être en essayant d'installer certains packages à la main, je ne sais pas) car j'ai un problème.

En effet lorsque je démarre Ubuntu en choisissant "Ubuntu" depuis le menu grub, j'arrive comme il se doit sur un écran d'unity me demandant mon mot de passe pour ouvrir une session. Or en mettant le bon mot de passe (aucun doute là-dessus) j'appuie sur entrée, puis l'écran devient noir et revient au point de départ (page où je dois taper mon mot de passe). Pareil si je lance une session "invité", impossible donc d'ouvrir une session depuis l'interface unity.

J'ai donc essayé, depuis ce menu de démarrage de session, de faire "ctrl+alt+f1", ce qui me fait passer en mode ligne de commande et là je peux me connecter avec mes login et password habituels. La connexion se passe sans problème et je peux accéder à mes fichiers en mode ligne de commande mais lorsque je veux revenir à l'interface graphique d'Ubuntu avec la commande "startx" ça ne marche pas et je reçois la réponse suivante (je l'ai réécrite ici, je n'ai pas pu la copier directement j'espère qu'il n'y a pas de faute) :

PS : J'ai hésité à mettre ce post dans les sections "Affichage et cartes graphiques" ou encore "Unity"...

Est-ce que tu a essayé de démarrer sur le noyau précédent ? Depuis Grub, je crois que c'est la deuxième ligne...

J'ai essayé de faire ce que tu me dis, donc depuis le menu grub je fais "Options avancées pour Ubuntu" puis  j'ai quatre choix :
-Ubuntu, avec Linux 3.16.0-49-generic
-Ubuntu, with Linux 3.16.0-49-generic (recovery mode)
-Ubuntu, avec Linux 3.16.0-30-generic
-Ubuntu, with Linux 3.16.0-30-generic (recovery mode)

Tout d'abord, quand je sélectionne le premier tout se passe bien et j'arrive au même problème que d'habitude (ouvrir session possible mais passage au mode graphique avec "startx" impossible). Ensuite j'ai fais ce que tu m'invitais à faire, c'est à dire le 3e choix de la liste des 4 précédents, et là ça bloque après les deux lignes suivantes :
"Chargement de Linux 3.16.0-30-generic...
Chargement du disque mémoire initial...
_"

5 minutes d'attente sans que rien ne se passe, j'éteins donc l'ordinateur de force. J'allume ensuite et cette fois-ci je sélectionne l'option "Ubuntu, with Linux 3.16.0-30-generic (recovery mode)", je réobtiens les deux lignes sur lesquelles je bloquais avant mais cette fois-ci sans blocage, et j'arrive sur un menu d'Unity d'ouverture de session pour retrouver le même problème qu'au tout début : impossible d'ouvrir une session en mode graphique et une fois la session ouvert en mode ligne de commande la commande "startx" redonne le même message d'erreur (à quelques petits détails près mais qui ne semblent pas dire que le comportement est différent, par exemple les "3.16.0-49-generic" sont remplacés par des "3.16.0-30-generic").

Remarque supplémentaire : je ne sais pas si cela a un lien, mais avant que ce problème arrive j'avais déjà un autre problème moins grave : deux messages du type "une erreur est survenue lors du montage de /media/windows1" (ce-dernier étant ce qui me permet d'accéder à mes disques durs windows) apparaissent au démarrage d'Ubuntu, et j'ai alors deux choix (touches "s"=abandon, ou "m"=manuelle), j'appuie alors sur la touche "s" qui passe le montage et je ne peux donc accéder à mes fichiers windows depuis Ubuntu. J'ai vu que sur le lien suivant "https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=1652081" la solution à ce problème était détaillée mais je ne m'en suis pas encore occupé car ce n'est pas mon problème principal aujourd'hui. Je pense que cela n'a rien à voir mais je voulais l'indiquer au cas-où.

Je me permet d'intervenir sur ce fil sans avoir de réponse à apporter car je pense avoir le même problème, et donc avoir surement des informations complémentaires le concernant.
Je met ici le liens vers le sujet que j'ai posté sur le forum (aucune solution n'y ai donné pour l'instant).

Ainsi, je me retrouve comme Paul à ne pas réussir à me connecter via l'interface graphique, ni même à la lancer depuis la console.
Le problème est arrivé visiblement à peu près au même moment, mardi soir pour ma part.
Il me semble que cela vient d'une mise-à-jour que j'aie dû effectué via l'interface graphique originelle de mise-à-jour d'Ubuntu (je ne retrouve pas le nom, mais le logo est un un A dans un rond).

Je vais tâcher de me faire discret et de suivre les indications données ici.
Si bien entendu un modérateur trouve mon post déplacé, qu'il n'hésite pas à me le faire savoir et à le supprimer.

Un grand merci à ceux qui prendront du temps pour nous aider.
