Désespérée ! Problème général de lenteur PC sans raison !
Bonjour les amis,
Je viens à vous car j'ai un GROS problème. J'ai fait l'acquisition d'un ordinateur d'occasion (HP EliteBook 8730w) et dès que je l'ai pris, j'ai vite viré Windaube pour y mettre Linux Mint.
Mais l'ordinateur est de plus en plus lent (je ne sais pas s'il l'était avant que je le prenne) et c'est juste HORRIBLE... Moi qui effectue des infographies avec Gimp, je ne peux rien faire sans que ça prenne trois plombes (et pareil pour le net...).
J'ai 2 gigas de RAM (j'en ai rajouté deux de plus, je pense que le PC en prend compte) et il y a plus de 300 gigas de libre sur l'ordi...
J'ai démonté le PC (mais aucune poussière) pour le nettoyer et y mettre de la pâte thermique car il me brûlait les jambes, et j'ai aussi acheté un support à 4 ventilos pour le refroidir.
Depuis, niveau chaleur ça va mieux mais ça change rien pour la lenteur !
J'ai nettoyé les fichiers, mais bon y a quasi rien sur l'ordi...
Je ne sais pas quoi faire... Mises à jour faites... HELP.... Me mettre sur Ubuntu plutôt que Mint, je pense que ça règlerait pas le problème ?
Je suis très novice, je précise, mais si on me donne des conseils je crois pouvoir les appliquer.
Linux Mint dernière version, HP EliteBook 8730w (éléments intérieurs peut-être pas d'origine -PC d'occasion)

Depuis quand as-tu rajouté ces 2 gigas de plus ? Est-ce que par hasard ça ne merderait pas encore plus depuis que tu les as rajoutés ?

Les variantes les plus véloces sont Lubuntu et Xubuntu, mais il faut d'abord diagnostiquer ton ordi.

Un coup d'oeil sur top ou htop aussi pour comprendre dans quoi il pédale...
Windows est un système d'exploitation de l'homme par l'ordinateur. Linux, c'est le contraire...

Non, une mise à jour (update) met le système à jour, sans plus. Pour changer le système, il faut procéder à un upgrade. Prévoir un backup avant !
Windows est un système d'exploitation de l'homme par l'ordinateur. Linux, c'est le contraire...

Avec 3Go, une Xubuntu en 32bits et un réglage de swappiness rendront l'engin beaucoup plus vivace. (ou alors ajoute un peu de RAM)
(tu sembles utiliser massivement la swap, c'est étonnant)
Commence par la swappiness :
echo vm.swappiness=5 | sudo tee /etc/sysctl.d/99-swappiness.conf
echo vm.vfs_cache_pressure=50 | sudo tee -a /etc/sysctl.d/99-swappiness.conf

Ta RAM est entièrement prise et donc tu tapes dans la mémoire swap.
Tu as le processus Firefox et deux processus chromium qui prennent le plus de mémoire.
Tu as trois solutions :
1/ Tu limites les applications en cours
2/ Tu rajoutes de la mémoire (RAM)
3/ Tu changes de distribution vers Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Debian etc ....

Merci beaucoup pour tous ces conseils, TRÈS intéressants.
J'avais acheté avec une revue, le CD ubuntu 16.04/Mint 8. J'ai d'abord voulut essayer Mint mais il ne me proposait QUE des langues que je ne pratique pas (ou tres peu). Donc j'ai remis Ubuntu. Mais malheur malheur sur moi, j'ai mal installé, je me suis effacé mon "historique" ( dossierS, logiciels et autres trucs que l'on stocke années après années.).
Voila, je crois que je reviendrais, car mon niveau est assez faible, sur le forum.
Je renouvelle mes énormes remerciements pour le temps avec patience passé a aidé les neuneus comme moi.
