Problème avec un stick USB Wifi Olitec
Bonjour,
Je suis un nouveau venu dans le monde de Linux, et je souhaite paramétrer ma connexion Wifi sous Kubuntu 7.10.
J'utilise le stick USB Olitec 802.11b V2, qui utilise le chipset ZyDAS 1201.
J'ai téléchargé le pilote Linux pour le zd1201, et je tente de l'installer... sans succès.
En effet, quand je tape:
sudo make
il m'affiche:
Failed: No firmware directory found
Si je comprend bien, il ne trouve pas où installer le pilote.
Pourtant, quand je fais
lsmod
zd1201 est bien présent, mais il est aussi écrit "Used by 0".
Pouvez vous m'aider ?

avant le make je crois qu'il faut que tu fasse cd /le repertoire ou se trouve ton fichier a compiler/

C'est ce que j'ai fait, et ça ne marche pas (j'avais réussi à l'installer une fois sous Sabayon avec les mêmes manips).
Edit: En fait, l'ordi essaie de copier les fichiers dans un dossier qui n'existe pas.
Je vais tenter des manips demain.

Bonjour,
Je fais un mega-up, car les choses avancent...
Avec Ubuntu 8.04, ma clé USB est reconnue nativement, j'ai simplement à rentrer les paramètres (clé WEP, etc...).
Par contre, quand je démarre sous Ubuntu, je suis obligé de débrancher ma clé et de la rebrancher à l'écran de choix de session, sans quoi le démarrage plante !
Que dois-je faire ?

Bon, je fais un up car je pense réinstaller Ubuntu en dualboot avec Windows, et je voulais savoir comment éviter le bug cité plus haut .

Que donne un dmesg lors que tu charges le module?
Que donne la commande suivante?

Ta clef wifi est connectée au point d'accès d'adresse MAC 00:1A:6B:04:F5:76. Vérifie qu'il s'agit bien de ton point d'accès avec la commande:
iwlist wlan0 scan
C'est normal que ta clef ne fonctionne qu'avec la norme b et pas la g?

Et oui, c'est tout à fait normal que ma clé fonctionne avec la norme b, c'est une vieille clé (faudrait peut-être que j'en change ...), mais je ne sais plus quelles normes supporte la Livebox .

La livebox supporte la b. Tu as bien mis les dns d'orange dans ton fichier /etc/resolv.conf? Il faut mettre les dns et plus l'ip de ta livebox car depuis une récente mise à jour de celle-ci, on doit mettre directement les dns d'orange sinon la résolution de nom de domaine met un temps fou.

La livebox ne supporte pas la norme N puisqu'elle n'existe pas. Un DNS et un ESSID n'ont rien à voir.
Je ne sais pas non plus à quoi correspond le search home mais un man resolv.conf t'en apprendra beaucoup.
Efface le contenu de ton resolv.conf et copie ceci dedans:
nameserver 80.10.246.2

Les serveurs DNS ( Domain Name System ) sont des serveurs qui permettent d'établir la correspondance entre un nom de domaine par exemple: www.google.fr et un ip, par exemple 94.35.67.3 ( au pif ). Quand tu mets les ip des serveurs DNS d'orange dans le fichier resolv.conf, tu dis à ton système d'effectuer les requêtes sur ces serveurs pour connaître les IP. Si tu ne donnes pas un bon dns, un ping www.google.fr ne fonctionnera pas, par contre un ping sur l'ip d'un serveur de google fonctionnera ( idem dans un navigateur ).
Fais également un:
ping 192.168.1.1

Bon, le fait de changer resolv.conf n'a rien amélioré (je démarrais tranquille, mais je n'avais pas de connexion). Avec les paramètres d'origine, le ping fonctionne parfaitement.
Pour ce qui est de la norme n, je suis allé voir sur wikipedia, et apparamment sa sortie était prévue cette année...
Sinon, merci pour ce petit cours sur les DNS, même si je connaissais déjà un peu (je croyais qu'en fait le nom de la Livebox était relié à son IP).

La norme n est prévue pour cette année, mais pour l'instant elle n'existe pas. Le ping sur 192.168.1.1 fonctionne avec le resolv.conf d'origine? Essaye sur 209.85.135.99 ( un serveur de google ). Si ça fonctionne, c'est bien un problème de dns.
Le "nom de la livebox" n'est pas relié à son IP. L'ssid permet d'identifier un réseau 802.11 en mode infrastructure.
Conseil d'expert: il vous faut un dentifrice adapté...

... c'est quoi ton problème? non parce que je pensais que ton Wifi ne marchait pas moi, alors que visiblement si. Ton premier message ne dit pas ce qui ne fonctionne.

Je fais un mega-up, car les choses avancent...
Avec Ubuntu 8.04, ma clé USB est reconnue nativement, j'ai simplement à rentrer les paramètres (clé WEP, etc...).
Par contre, quand je démarre sous Ubuntu, je suis obligé de débrancher ma clé et de la rebrancher à l'écran de choix de session, sans quoi le démarrage plante !
Que dois-je faire ?

Bon, j'ai désactivé avahi-daemon en modifiant /etc/default/avahi-daemon, mais rien n'y fait !
J'ai regardé ce qui se lançait et après une erreur sur une appli en rapport avec les DNS, le démarrage bloque sur cupsd...

Si ca peut aider ceux qui cherchent il m'est arrive la même chose, le demarrage met du temps sur avahi puis se bloque sur cupsd mais continue des que je débranche la clé. Desfois cela m'arrive aussi sur le bureau lorsque je lance des applications rien ne se passe et dès que je débranche la clé tout les applications apparaissent.
Petite précision encore, sur 3 cartes meres et leurs processeurs respectifs, ce probleme ne m'arrive que sur l'une d'entre elle, une gygabyte ga-73pvm-s2h.
Sur les deux autres cartes meres je n'ai aucun soucis, ce sont une asrock 939A8X-M et l'autre de marque inconnue (équipant un pc unika d'origine)
