[RESOLU] démarrage très long après install Xubuntu seul sur imac

Bonjour.

J'ai installé Xubuntu  16.04.1 LTS sur 1 iMac 5.1 en "simple boot".
Pour cela j'ai démarré sur le liveCD  en maintenant la touche "Alt" enfoncée puis fait une install en supprimant Os-X
Depuis mon iMac démarre mais il reste très longtemps d'abord sur un écran tout blanc puis un écran tout noir et enfin lance Xubuntu.
Le chargement de Xubuntu est lui rapide.
J'ai vu dans la doc du site qu'il fallait démarrer sur un disque de rEFIt et resynchroniser les partitions.
J'ai gravé ce disque et bien démarré dessus puis choisi l’icône représentant 1 DD mais apparemment ça n'a rien changé.
Le redémarrage est toujour aussi long.
Je n'ai pas non plus d'affichage de grub au démarrage.
Sinon, une fois démarré, Xubuntu semble fonctionner normalement.

Ouf, ça fonctionne enfin !

Tu n'as toujours que 1gb 512mo ou tu as rajouté les barrettes pour passer à 4gb ?

Dis nous (chronomètre !) le temps précis pour le démarrage.

Pour info je n'ai ni rEFint ni rEFInd sur mon MacBook ... quel intérêt quand on a qu'un OS sur un disque dur ?

Bonjour à vous.

Non j'ai installé les 4 Go mais , il n'en voit que 3 Go (vu avec utilitaire "Hardinfo", je ne sais pas faire en ligne de commande).
Sinon dans cette doc:
installation_macbook_sans_macosx
il est dit qu'il faut pas faire une install direct mais suivre toute une procédure d'install compliquée.
Je redémarre le PC et chronomètre le redémarrage.
Mais on dirait bien que le Mac cherche qu'elle est la partition sur laquelle il faut qu'il boote.
Bon: 1mn et 15s avant d'afficher l'écran d'ouverture de session Xubuntu (40s écran blanc et 35 s écran noir).
C'est très long, je trouve.
Plus long qu'avant en tout cas avec Os-X et Ubuntu en dual boot.

Un démarrage long, c'est subjectif. Eventuellement lance dmesg en ligne de commande juste après le démarrage et donne nous le retour que l'on voit si ça bloque quelque part. Si tu n'as pas augmenté la ram, attend de la recevoir et commence par l'installer, 1.5 Go de Ram, ça passe mais c'est limite de nos jours.

Même si tu trouves ça long ou moins rapide qu'avant, pour me part je trouve que c'est plutôt correct comme temps de démarrage.

Mon MacBook va plus vite, certes, mais c'est normal puisque j'ai remplacé le poussif disque dur d'origine qui se traînait à 5400tr/mn par un ssd, ceci explique cela.


Je pense que ta sensation de lenteur du démarrage du système vient du passage en écran noir quand il charge alors que tu étais habitué avec l'OS d'Apple ou Ubuntu à un écran coloré jusqu'au démarrage terminé : en blanc pour Apple et en violet avec Ubuntu (Plymouth) :

Bref tu n'es pas encore habitué au démarrage de Xubuntu avec son "trou noir".

Au fait t'as essayé de remettre Ubuntu 16.04.1 ?

Je crois bien qu'il est possible d'installer Plymouth mais je n'en suis pas si sûr : https://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/plymouth

Pour la ram, j'avais pas vu ta réponse avant de poster.
Depuis l'utilisation de Systemd dans ubuntu, le démarrage a tendance à être plus long qu'avant, ça peut expliquer pourquoi il y a une différence avec la 12.04 que tu avais avant et qui utilisait upstart.
Tu peux toujours donner les retours des commandes suivantes pour voir si la situation peut être améliorée. Fais le juste après le démarrage:

dmesg
systemd-analyze
systemd-analyze blame

Pour la dernière commande, tu peux quitter en appuyant sur la touche Q

Xu buntu ne voit qu 3 Go sur 4 Go de ram.

Bon, j'ai installé boot-repair et je l'ai lancé puis fait ce qu'il me disait de faire.
Çà na pas changer grand chose, c'est même pire (1 mn 30 s pour avoir la page d'ouverture de session Xubuntu) mais "grub" est maintenant lancé au démarrage.
On dirait vraiment que le Mac ne fait rien pendant tout ce temps.

Les tailles des 3 fichiers sont normales smile, sans relation avec un éventuel problème de démarrage.

Sauf erreur de ma part, tu n'as toujours pas précisé la nature de ton disque.

Enfin, pour le pavé numérique, n'ouvre un fil que si ces 2 manip' restent sans effet :
1)

sudo apt-get install numlockx

2) Et voir dans le bios (à ceci près que je ne connais pas les Mac) s'il n'y a pas une ligne

numlock : Disabled

à passer sur

numlock : Enabled

Ok merci pour le numlock.
Pour le DD c'est un disque classique 500 Go mécanique/rotatif
Bon, j'essayerais de m'habituer à ces écrans blanc puis  noir.
C'est juste que j'avais l'impression que rien ne se passait au démarrage (aucun bruit de disque) et qu'1mn30s c'est long avant d'avoir l'écran d'ouverture de session.
Après la session s'ouvre en quelques secondes.
Sinon, le Mac ne voit que 3 Go sur 4go mais je crois avoir lu que certain de ces iMac5 ne pouvait voir que 3 Go au max.

Ouvrir le dossier « Système de fichiers »
Cliquer sur le menu "fichier" (en haut à gauche) et sélectionner dans la liste déroulante «Administrator » qui va demander votre mot de passe (et le mettre ! ).
Ouvrir le dossier «lib »
Ouvrir le sous-dossier « firmware »
Coller maintenant le fichier« AppleUSBVideoSupport.bin » à sa racine (attention de ne pas le coller dans un autre sous-dossier).

Au terminal

sudo ift-extract -a /lib/firmware/AppleUSBVideoSupport

Pas besoin de redémarrer, ma webcam fonctionne enfin sous Skype !

C'est deux barrettes de 2gb format portable ou 2 barrettes de 2gb format tour ? (Normalement format portable).

Je me pose une question, peut-être idiote mais même si grub ne s'affiche pas, la ligne GRUB_TIMEOUT de /etc/default/grub n'aurait-elle pas une influence? Ça ne coûte rien d'essayer en la passant à 0.
Peux-tu donner le contenu de ce fichier:

cat /etc/default/grub

Pour voir sa prise en charge :

uname -mr; echo; free -h

Mais il est possible, tout bêtement, qu'1 Gio sur 4 soit dévolu à la carte graphique...

Tu t'es mélangé dans les copiers-collers...

Mais tu as bien 4 Gio de ram :

avec un noyau 64 bits apte à les gérer :

Donc je pense qu'un Gio est dévolu à la carte graphique.

Pourtant avec  l'utilitaire "Hardinfo"  j'ai

total memory  3064864 kb 

et avec "sysinfo" j'ai

Memory Total 2993 MiB

Il semble que j'ai bien physiquement 4Go mais seulement 3 Go semblent gérés/utilisés.
