[Résolu] Instabilité au démarrage de Kubuntu et Ubuntu 16.04
Bonjour,
j'ai un nouveau PC que j'ai voulu installer en double boot entre son Windows 10 présent à l'achat et kubuntu 16.04. Ma première installation s'est passé sans problème (avec Grub sur la partition EFI).
Mais... J'ai des instabilités dans le démarrage de kubuntu après la sélection dans grub que je n'arrive pas à comprendre. Toute aide me sera précieuse.
Les symptômes:
- premier plantage: au démarrage, après grub, l'affichage initial (kubuntu en blanc sur fond noir) apparait puis reste gelé... Je tente un redémarrage et là, toujours après grub, écran noir. Il se trouve que j'ai encore la main: après avoir tapé login, mot de passe et reboot, ça redémarre effectivement. En allant en mode dépannage, j'ai essayé de m'en sortir. J'ai remarqué en particulier que le xorg.conf avait disparu de /etc/X11/ Je n'ai pas réussi à le recréer. Après plusieurs tentatives pour comprendre le problème, j'ai réinstallé le système...
- second plantage: même point de départ, écran kubuntu de démarrage puis fond noir, mais j'ai la main. Je reboot, mode dépannage. Là, le xorg.conf est encore absent. Je fais un nvidia-xconfig et cette fois-ci, il marche (erreurs lors du premier plantage). Je redémarre, tout baigne.
- troisième plantage: rebelotte... Je ne suis pas chez moi, ma femme m'a décrit le problème, qui semble identique... Je devrais attendre la fin de semaine pour faire les tests et voir si c'est encore un problème de xorg.conf...
Bref, inutile de dire qu'entre chaque plantage, les démarrages ont fonctionné sans problèmes un certain nombre de fois...
Mes questions:
- quelqu'un peut-il m'expliquer pourquoi le système se vautre de temps en temps au démarrage ? Comment se fait-il qu'une fois que c'est installé comme il faut et que ça marche, tout d'un coup ça déconne ? J'imagine que le système fait tout seul une modif quelque part (une tentative de mise à jour?) qui se plante et me déteriore le système... Y a-t-il moyen de bloquer ça pour qu'il ne change jamais rien au démarrage ? pour que toute modif se passe pendant que je suis connecté et disponible pour dépanner un problème sans bousiller mon démarrage ?
- Est-ce qu'il peut y avoir un rapport avec le fait que ce soit kubuntu et pas ubuntu (unity) ? Si j'installe ubuntu à la place de kubuntu, je crains que le problème soit le même... J'ai raison ?
Mon ordi:
- carte mère MSI avec processeur AMD Ryzen5 1400
- carte graphique Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060
- SSD 180 Go partagé entre windows 10 et le / de linux
- HDD de 1To partagé entre windows 10 (ntfs) et le /home de linux (ext4)

Déjà, Xorg.conf n'est pas dans /etc mais, de mémoire, dans /usr/bin (sinon cherche dans la doc).
Je pense que ta cg pose probleme. À l'affichage du grub tu dois pouvoir passer l'option "nomodeset", t'auras un affichage merdique mais qui te permettra d'installer le pilote proprio de nvidia (si disponible).
Est-ce qu'en mode "essayer" avec ton support live, cela fonctionne pour le moins, car cela pourra être utile afin de diagnostics.

Merci pour ta réaction, lucmars.
Je ne suis pas un spécialiste de ce qui s'installe sur / , même si je ne suis pas complètement perdu quand je regarde dedans. Je me suis appuyé sur ce que je pouvais trouver dans les forums pour mes premières réparations.
Ma carte graphique n'a pas posé de problème à l'installation. Après l'install et la première mise à jour de tous les paquets, j'avais une faible résolution. En installant nvidia-375, la résolution est devenue optimale et tout se passe bien. Jusqu'à ce que le démarrage se plante.
Comme j'ai dit, au second plantage, nvidia-xconfig a bien remis un xorg.conf dans /etc/X11 et ça a réglé le problème. Il y a eu plusieurs (j'ai pas compté...) redémarrages qui ont parfaitement fonctionnés entre chaque plantage.
Je ne suis pas chez moi cette semaine donc je ne pourrai pas donner de diagnostiques plus précis avant samedi, mais si quelqu'un a une idée de réponse aux questions que j'ai posées ci-dessus, ça m'aiderait à préparer ce que je compte faire pour réparer (ou changer de distrib..)

Je tente à nouveau de comprendre mon problème. Ce troisième plantage ne ressemble pas du tout au second (ni au premier: pas du tout les mêmes erreurs dans les fichiers). Ce que j'ai fait la seconde fois et qui avait permis de rétablir le démarrage ne fonctionne pas du tout maintenant. xorg.conf est présent, nvidia-xconfig marche bien et refait un xorg.conf similaire, etc, etc... Mais toujours cet écran noir et l'accès à une invit invisible (je tape mon login/passwd, puis je peux taper reboot et ça redémarre). Je ne vois pas d'autre solution que de réinstaller...
Je retente ma question:
qu'est-ce qui se passe dans le démarrage qui pourrait expliquer qu'après une install qui a réussi, un fonctionnement sans problème pendant une dizaine de démarrages, tout d'un coup ça ne démarre plus ??
Ce genre d'instabilité n'encourage pas à rester sur ce système...

Tu as écrit "carte graphique Nvidia GeForce GTX 1600" mais je pense que c'est "GTX 1060". Tu peux confirmer (et rectifier dans le post #1) ?

Depuis la version 16.04, le paramétrage par défaut des mises à jour a changé : quand il y a des mises à jour de sécurité, ces mise à jour sont téléchargées et installées automatiquement en arrière plan sans que tu sois informé de rien (voir paramétrage par défaut au début de ce post). Si tu as un ordi poussif comme le mien, tu te rends compte qu'il se passe quelque chose à l'ouverture de session parce que le lancement d'une application est tout mou alors qu'il se fait normalement très rapidement. C'est parce que les mises à jour de sécurité se font en arrière plan comme j'ai dit et que ça pompe les ressources de l'ordi le temps que ces mises à jour soient accomplies..
Est-ce qu'il peut y avoir un rapport avec le fait que ce soit kubuntu et pas ubuntu (unity) ? Si j'installe ubuntu à la place de kubuntu, je crains que le problème soit le même... J'ai raison ?

N'arrivant à rien avec ce troisième plantage, j'ai réinstallé... Mais cette fois-ci Ubuntu 16.04 (pas Kubuntu). Pour l'instant, tout va bien (ça y est, je sens que ça va déconner sous peu !!)... On verra combien de temps ça tient.
En même temps, j'ai pas vraiment envie d'attendre le plantage... Je vais désactiver les mises à jour automatique comme indiqué dans le post que tu pointais.

En même temps, j'ai pas vraiment envie d'attendre le plantage... Je vais désactiver les mises à jour automatique comme indiqué dans le post que tu pointais.
En principe, tu devrais avoir une notification comme quoi des mises à jour sont disponibles (puisque tu vas prendre le réglage "Lorsqu’il y a des mises à jour de sécurité : Afficher immédiatement"). Donne des nouvelles pour dire si au moins tu es notifié comme ça devrait...

Ok, je tiendrai au courant.
Au fait, j'ai oublié: en réponse au message de lucmars, j'avais essayé de rajouter le nomodeset au moment de grub (e avant que ça ne démarre, je descends sur la ligne " linux /boot/(...) quiet splash $vt_handoff " et je tape nomodeset à la fin de la ligne, puis je lance le boot), ça ne changeait rien à mon écran obstinément noir... Mon pilote propriétaire nvidia-375 était installé et fonctionnel avant les plantages.
Autre point, sur cette install (ubuntu), j'ai vérifié: pas de trace de xorg.conf dans /etc/X11, donc ça n'avait rien à voir ? Je ne comprends pas du coup comment je suis sorti indemne de mon deuxième plantage... Hummm....
Si ça venait bien des mises à jour de sécurité, est-ce qu'il y a un endroit où on peut voir les jours où de telles mises à jour ont été diffusées ? Pour voir s'il y a corrélation avec mes plantages...

Si lucmars t'a conseillé de rajouter le nomodeset, c'est parce qu'il ignorait que tu avais déjà installé auparavant le pilote propriétaire nvidia-375. Quand le pilote propriétaire est installé, il ne faut plus utiliser nomodeset.
Si ça venait bien des mises à jour de sécurité, est-ce qu'il y a un endroit où on peut voir les jours où de telles mises à jour ont été diffusées ? Pour voir s'il y a corrélation avec mes plantages...

bon, après presque une semaine de bonheur, le problème est revenu.
Quand je boot en recovery mode, je peux avoir accès à la ligne de commande et comprendre un peu plus. Pour info, j'ai fait des mises à jour ce matin via le gestionnaire (en le lançant moi même, il ne m'indiquait rien tout seul). J'en avais fait jeudi aussi, via synaptic.
Cet après-midi, de nouveau, bloqué sur une écran violet avec ubuntu écrit au milieu.... En tapant mon login, mot de passe puis reboot, ça redémarre et je peux passer en recovery mode.
Là, je mets en place le réseau, puis je fais un dpkg. Il y a un paquet à télécharger... Je dis ok mais ça ne marche pas.
Je passe alors en admin.
apt update => un paquet à mettre à jour.
apt full-upgrade => cherche à mettre à jour unattended-upgrades
N'arrive pas à le télécharger.

J'ai essayé de bloquer la mise à jour de unattended-upgrades, via dpkg.
J'ai modifié /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-upgrades pour commenter toute mise à jour automatique.
Rien à faire...
J'ai essayé de démarrer en failsafeX... Il a râlé qu'il n'y avait pas de /etc/X11/xorg.conf ... (cf plus haut...) J'ai fait un nvidia-xconfig qui lui en a fait un sans broncher. Malgré cela, pas moyen d'avoir autre chose qu'un écran noir...
J'ai finalement carrément fait un apt purge unattended-upgrades et je l'ai marqué en hold. Bon, il n'avait plus besoin d'aucune mise à jour (en recovery mode toujours). Mais démarrage normal toujours bloqué sur écran noir.
J'ai essayé de faire un bisnext mais il m'a mis le même type d'erreur à l'apt install que quand il voulait mettre à jour unattended-upgrades (cf post juste au-dessus)...
Du coup, j'ai lancé une session live à partir du cd et j'ai pu avoir le bisnext:

Il y a des passages des logs... Pour info, à 9:17, je me suis loggé sans problème, mais il m'annoncait un problème logiciel. Je crois me souvenir que j'ai fait une mise à jour avec le gestionnaire (il n'annonçait rien), puis j'ai rebooté pour voir. Redémarrage sans problème (ça doit être 9:24) mais toujours problème logiciel.
Finalement, 15:09... Je ne sais pas si ça correspond à l'heure de la première tentative de démarrage qui a échoué ou si c'est l'heure à laquelle j'ai démarré en recovery mode.
Bref, je sais pas si ça aide, mais en attendant, je vais sans doute réinstaller et totalement éradiquer toute mise à jour a posteriori, histoire de voir si ça vient vraiment de là ou bien d'une opération du saint esprit pour me punir de je ne sais quel outrage...

Sur cette page qui concerne ton processeur AMD Ryzen 5 1400, on peut lire : "We recommend using Ryzen only with Linux kernels 4.10 and later.". La version 16.04.2 que tu utilises est actuellement avec le noyau 4.8 ce qui ne semble pas convenir : tu devrais la remplacer par la version 17.04

Bon, je n'ai pas pris le temps de faire cette mise à jour suffisamment rapidement (eh oui, la vie est remplie d'autres impératifs...) et me voilà replanté. J'ai des mises à jour à faire, mais ça ne semble pas la cause, puisqu'il ne fait rien tout seul.
Apparemment, mon réseau ne marche pas. Pourtant l'ethernet semble actif d'après ifconfig... Le apt-upgrade hurle à chque paquet qu'il n'arrive pas à le récupérer... Bon... Est-ce un indice ? Je ne sais pas...
Cette instabilité (il n'y a pas d'autre mot quand un système qui ne change pas se comporte tout d'un coup de façon hystérique et refuse de booter comme il l'a fait plein de fois avant) vient peut-être de cette incompatibilité de kernel ? Je vais réinstaller en 17.04, mais ce sera mon dernier essai. Si ça plante encore après, adieu ubuntu...

Je trouve quand même ahurissant de me retrouver bloqué ainsi. J'ai vraiment du mal à concevoir que quelque chose puisse tout d'un coup basculer dans un état modifié où une erreur qui n'existait pas avant apparait et arrête le processus de boot, sans aucun retour en arrière possible... Mais je ne dois pas m'y connaitre assez en hardware pour concevoir ça...

Autre chose:
avant la bifurcation, le grub me donnait 10s avant de booter.
Maintenant, il me donne 30s...
J'avais déjà remarqué ça sur le plantages précédent. Un autre indice ? Je ne suis pas capable d'interpréter, mais il me semble que c'est le signe que quelque chose a changé dans le grub... Ce qui n'est pas normal, puisque je lui ai demandé de ne rien changer dans le système... Ah, ces trucs automatisés...

Tu mentionnais 30s avant de booter dans le post #19. Qu'en est-il après cette dernière réinstallation ?
Tant que la situation est stable, je te prie de faire un rapport Bisnext depuis une session de ton Kubuntu (ou Ubuntu ?) réinstallé.

Pour les 30s, il semble (d'après ce que j'ai lu par-ci par-là) que ce soit une valeur par défaut qui se met en place quand un démarrage n'a pas réussi. Ce qui est cohérent avec mon expérience. Après la nouvelle installation (Ubuntu, pas kubuntu, je passe le détail sur les négociations familiales...), le décompte est revenu à 10s.
Pour bisnext, je le fais dès que j'ai un moment.

Bon, je croise les doigts mais ça a l'air de tenir... Le problème venait donc bien apparemment de cette incompatibilité du noyau avec mon proc. Merci beaucoup Malbo pour avoir pointé cela et avoir résolu ce problème !
