Grub suite mise à jour 14.04 vers 16.04
Bonjour
Suite à une mise à jour de 14.04 vers 16.04 (installation d'Ubuntu à côté de Windows en double boot), j'arrive sur le commande grub .
Avant de faire des bêtises, voici mon rapport http://paste.ubuntu.com/26412806/ .

(*) une mise à niveau de 14.04 vers 16.04 "normale" donne 16.04 équipé du noyau de la famille 4.4 alors que tu as un noyau de la famille 4.10.

Bonsoir Malbo,
Effectivement cette migration de 14.04 à 16.04 a été laborieuse. Je n'ai pas réussi cette fois-ci à la gérer par le gestionnaire de mises à jour (mauvaises lignes de commande saisies par celui entre le clavier et le siège notamment).
J'ai fini par tenter de la faire avec un DVD live contenant la 16.04 avec le résultat que l'on connait.

Je confirme et de surcroît, je n'ai pas mis de point de montage lors de mon opération de mise à jour (je m'en suis aperçu trop tard !), bref il y a des jours....
Une fois le sujet du boot réglé, je pensais régler ce point à moins que tu me conseilles de faire cela via le dvd live ?

Bonjour.
Si j'ai bien compris tu es parti d'un Ubuntu 14.04 installé en UEFI, On voit les fichiers de boot-efi pour Ubuntu dans /sda1, la partition boot-efi.
Tu as fait la mise à niveau vers la 16.04, mais en mode Bios_Legacy. On voit que tu as réinstallé un grub2-pc, pas un grub-efi-signed. On ne voit pas non plus la partition boot-efi /dev/sda1 dans le fichier fstab de la /dev/sda7...
Et comme tu as réinstallé en Bios_Legacy dans un disque en GPT, il manque peut-être aussi une partition Bios-grub ou Bios-boot pour y mettre le core.img .
C'est ce que l'on voit dans ton boot-info.
Attends l'avis de malbo, pour savoir si la réparation recommandée avec Boot-Repair, à faire en démarrant en session live en mode UEFI, convient

Çà ne concernera que la possibilité de faire redémarrer la 16.04 en UEFI.
Pour la récupération éventuelle du /home séparé de la 14.04, /dev/sda9. Si tu as réinstallé en gardant les mêmes login et mot de passe çà va faciliter les choses.

J'ai découvert Ubuntu avec la 07.10.... Et alors?!... Depuis je regarde de temps en temps si Windows marche toujours....

Bonjour,
Moi je me dégonfle d'essayer de sauver ce Ubuntu moribond. Je te suggère de sauvegarder sur un disque dur externe les données précieuses que tu peux avoir dans la partition sda9 en t'aidant de la doc "Récupérer ses données depuis un live-CD ou live-USB". Quand ce sera fait, je te suggère de virer toute l'installation actuelle de Ubuntu et de réinstaller un Ubuntu tout neuf.

Merci pour vos prompts retours.
- Je comprends mieux grâce au post de Babdu89 les erreurs faites.
- Effectivement à force de vouloir sauver ce qui n'est plus que ruine, il est peut-être plus simple de repartir sur de bonne base et de réinstaller quelque chose de plus viable !
J'ai sauvegardé les données du /home avant d'avoir tenter de réaliser la migration. mais vais néanmoins faire une ultime vérification de ma sauvegarde avant de réinstaller avec un Dvd live.
Je vous tiens au courant !

Attention, tout de même, de bien démarrer la session live 16.04 en mode UEFI, pour réinstaller en dual boot avec ton Windows, qui lui est installé en mode UEFI.
Normalement l'installateur va utiliser la partition boot-efi /dev/sda1 pour y installer le boot en mode UEFI de ton Ubuntu. Comme il l'avait fait pour la 14.04.

Merci pour ce rappel.
Effectivement je tente de démarrer ma session live 16.04 en mode UEFI pour réinstaller en dual boot avec windows mais sans succès, j'ai pourtant bien désactivé le fastBoot/quickBoot et le secure-boot !

Prends une autre clé USB et refais une LiveUSB 16.04.1 64 bits (je te propose ma recette pour le faire depuis Windows)

Bonsoir,
Je n'arrive toujours pas à passer en session live UEFI.
J'ai créé une clé USB avec le créateur de disque de démarrage cae je n'ai pas de Windows à ma disposition.
Je suis parti sur une 16.04.03 mais toujours ce "fichu" Ecran mauve m'indiquant que je ne suis pas en UEFI, confirmation avec la ligne de commande suivante :
[ -d /sys/firmware/efi ] && echo "Session EFI" || echo "Session non-EFI"
J'ai fais la même manipulation avec une 16.04.01 (toujours en amd64), résultat identique !
Je ne sais donc plus trop quoi faire pour me sortir de cette situation, si vous avez des idées, je suis volontiers preneur !

Je me réponds à moi-même, j'ai réussi à passer en UEFI en repassant par le menu de boot : le souci reste souvent entre le clavier et le chaise !

As-tu fait l'install toute neuve de 16.04.1 ou de 16.04.3 ? Si tu n'as pas encore fait l'install, je te recommande d'installer 16.04.1 car c'est la version qui convient à ton ordi (précédemment tu avais 14.04 qui tournait dans cette machine donc il s'agit d'un modèle déjà vieux). La version 16.04.3 est adaptée pour les ordis qui ont moins de 2 ans.

Désolé de revenir si tardivement, j'ai réalisé l'installation sur la base d'une 16.04.3 ! Il ne me reste plus qu'à recommencer car la machine tourne un peu plus lentement qu'avant, dois-je en conclure que c'est la principale raison de cette lenteur perceptible ?
Merci en tout cas pour ce rappel, je suis passé par la 16.04.1 mais butant bêtement sur le sujet EFI, j'ai chargé une 16.04.03 puis ai réalisé que cela fonctionnait avec cette version donc j'ai foncé avec cette version...
Au-delà de tes conseils avisés, j'aimerais savoir où j'aurais pu trouver cette d'information pour la prochaine fois !
Pour le reste, l'installation s'est très bien passée, comme à la parade !

Sur l'existence de version plus appropriée à des machines plus anciennes, typiquement, préférer la 16.04.1 à la 16.04.3

L'information existe et elle est bien documentée à mon avis : Rolling HWE Stacks for 16.04
Pourquoi cette info n'est pas "vulgarisée" et mise sous le nez du novice(*) au moment où il cherche quelle est la meilleure version pour son ordi ? Je ne sais pas.
(*) je me suis déguisé en novice et je viens d'aller sur la page de téléchargement de la maison-mère : https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
On y propose actuellement Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS donc la version équipée du hwe-16.04 (et donc adaptée aux modèles d'ordinateurs les plus récents) et on ne propose pas la version ga-16.04 adaptée aux modèles moins récents (sortis avant 2016)
