Mise à jour de bios et installation d'une nouvelle version de lubuntu

Bonjour, j'avais un problème de Grub2 sur mon Acer Aspire ES 1- 533- C 3UW  sous linux qui a été résolu sur les colonnes-mêmes de ce forum (https://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=2009187). Il m'a été conseillé par l'occasion de mettre à jour le bios de mon système ce qui nécéssitait auparavant l'installation de windows 10 et l'installation d'une nouvelle version de lubuntu pour remplacer la version 17.04  devenue obsolète. Or si j'ai bien installé windows  10 en dual boot avec linux, je  viens vous demander de l'aide pour réaliser la  mise à jour du bios et la migration vers la verision la plus récente de lubuntu. que  j n'ai pas osé( par précaution) réaliser tout seul .

Bonsoir,
Dans un premier temps il faut des info. :

inxi -Fxxxz -admin
 dmesg -k -l emerg,alert,crit,err,warn

PS: Pour la mise à jour Bios, c'est risqué et pas forcement pertinent.
Pour les versions Ubuntu, mieux vaut les versions LTS (14.04, 16.04, maintenant 18.04, etc...)

Apparement il faut faire avant:

sudo apt-get update --fix-missing

sudo apt autoremove

inxi -Fxxxz -admin

cat /proc/cmdline

Après pour la migration L17.04 vers L18.04, il y a plusieurs solutions.:

Re : Mise à jour de bios et installation d'une nouvelle version de lubuntu

Tu ne devrai avoir aucune trace de la 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) et toi c'est le cas ! donc c'est pas bon.

Je te recommande d'installer directement la 18.04 en effaçant l'ancienne version (biensur backup de tes données perso avant)

Exact, le mieux est d'installer la 18.04 directement.
Et éventuellement remettre le paramètre kernel qui était indiqué dans ton précédent message (que tu as effacé, problème de bios) (via dmesg -k -l emerg,alert,crit,err,warn)

Bonsoir uboops et GammaDraconis, avant de procéder à l'installation de la nouvelle version comme vous le suggérer j'aimerai vous poser quelques questions:
- En quoi c'est mauvais d'y avoir des traces de la 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) alors que cette version fonctionne encore normalement?
- Serait il possible de migrer vers L 18.04.  alors que normalement  ça devrait être la L 16.04.2 ?
- La remise du paramètre Kernel doit-il s'effectuer avant ou après l'installation de la nouvelle version?
- Avec la nouvelle installation , ne risquè-je pas d'avoir un problème avec le grub2 comme je l'ai eu avec l'instalation de l'ancienne version L 17.7.04 ?
- La nouvelle installation n'affectera-t-elle pas le dual boot ( lubuntu- windows 12) ?
- Le Backup concerne-t-il également  la partie C windows 10 du système ou uniquement celle de Lubuntu?
Trop de questions, j'en conviens, dont les réponses auxquelles vous apporteriez offriraient de garanties pour moins de risques dans l'installation de la nouvellle version ( la mise à niveau).

A ton stade, le plus simple c'est de réinstaller Lubuntu 18.04 LTS sur ta partition racine / déjà existante (L17.04) ... à partir d'un liveCD/LiveUSB...

Pour identifier cette (ou ces si il y a un /home séparé aussi) partition L17.04

lsblk -ao name,fstype,size,label,mountpoint,uuid,alignment

# Pour voir si GRUB est déjà dans /dev/sda
sudo od -tx1z -Ax -N 512 /dev/sda 

#Pour connaitre l'architecture a télécharger pour Lubuntu
arch

Version Lubuntu 18.04 a tester avant en LiveUSB:

La nouvelle installation n'affectera rien, si on fait attention.

Il faudra faire des sauvegardes des fichiers perso de son /home avant (car /dev/sda4 contient Lubuntu 17.04 / et /home, partition non séparée)

Si tout fonctionne bien avec le livecd L18.04, après installer L18.04 que dans la partition ancienne de L17.04 = sda4. (l'idéal serait de créer aussi au moins une partition swap disque dans cette espace sda4 lors de l'installation avec un partitionner_manuellement (de la taille de la mémoire RAM, commande: free)

exemple ici au moins 2GB (1988816) de swap, il y en a 4,6GB

bonsoir, c'est désagréable d'emmerder les gens le soir du réveillon, je m'en excuse. j'aurais aimé terminé 2018 par une réussite mais malheureusement ce n'est pas le cas car l'installation de lubuntu 18.04.01 sur live usb a échoué. j'en avais le pressentiment de connaitre le même problème que j'ai rencontré l'année dernière lors de l'installation de lubuntu 17.04. Effectivement l'installation de lubuntu 18.04.01 a buté, elle aussi sur le grub2.
Voilà sans vouloir vous faire de souci, avec mon problème d'installation, je vous souhaite une belle soirée de réveillon et bonne et heureuse année 2019.

Pour info, depuis le livecd L18.04, si tout c'est bien passer sauf grub
Refaire (si boot uefi)

sudo grub-install
update-grub

Pour info:

/usr/sbin/grub-install --version

dpkg -l grub* | grep ii

apt-cache policy grub-efi

lsblk

#Si démarrage UEFI:
sudo grub-install

# OU

#Si MBR master boot record sur sda

Et cerise sur le gateau du nouvel an, en bootant sur le lubuntu 107.04m je vois s'afficher un message d'erreur  et m'est impossible de l'utiliser ce qui m'a oblige de recourir a la version live usb de lubuntu 18.04m non encore installe avec toutes les tracasseries du clavier. Du coup je me suis dit s'il ne fallait pas reprendre les procedures suivies pour resoudre le probleme de grub lors de l'installation de lubuntu 17.04. Qu'en pensez- vous

Oui mais il faut monter votre partition comme avant (post 11 elle était montée)

sudo grub-install
sudo update-grub

Sinon,, il faut réinstaller L18.04, et installer refind

Ben oui, il faut l'installer avant ... Il faudrait que vous puissiez vous faire aider par une personne de votre entourage pour acquérir les bases en informatique, ou lire avant des tutos

je ne sais pas quoi te dire mais ce forum est destiné aux personnes qui ne maitrisent pas l'outil  informatique pour les aider  à resoudre les problèmes qu'elles rencontrent sinon a quoi servirait il ?
J'irai chercher de l'aide ailleurs et merci quand même pour la peine que tu t'es donné pour trouver une solution à mon problème d'installation.

Ca fait longtemps que je n'utilise plus boot-repair, mais je sais que l'application a la possibilité de réparer les choses via un bouton "Recommanded Repair" et/ou avec des Options.

... Je laisse la place aux spécialistes boot-repair car je ne connais pas bien cet utilitaire.
