Impossible de updater synaptic, logiciel introuvable + anglais

Bonjour à tous, voulant instlaller vlc, je me suis rendu dans synaptic, je vois apparaitre vlc mais on me dit que c'est une version obsolète, ok pas de soucis je regarde les sujets de ceux ayant eus les mêmes problèmes que moi. Je trouvent des sujets, j'applique les solutions mais rien n'y fait ni vlc ni autres logiciel téléchargeables alors que la base de donnée http://packages.ubuntu.com/ est énorme et vlc de plus y est.
Comment donc bien updater synaptic, j'ai ubuntu feity fawn 7.04 et mon sources.list est cela :

j'ai sa dans mon sources.list et quand je update les mêmes logiciels sont présents de plus universe est activé comme le demande certain.

autre probleme de plus, ubuntu s'est mis en anglais, certaines choses en en francais et d'autres en anglais malgré que la langue soit sur la langue francaise ???

bonjours,
pour hardy (ca doit etre pareil) vlc est sur fr.archive.ubuntu.com/multiverse
et est en version: 0.8.6.release.e+x245svn20071224+faad2.6.1-0ubuntu3

et il y a des doublons dans ton source liste, pour coriger ca de facon simple:
systeme/administration/source de logiciel
la tu change de serveur (click sur "Serveur national (France)) ; belgique/skynet par exemple
tu valide tu ferme et tu le laisse actualisé, puis tu recommence en remettant les serveur francais (ou tu laisse les belges ces toi qui voit, je m'en sert quand les francais reponde mal)

ensuite en console:

sudo apt-get update

la tu vera si un serveur ne repond pas ou si le sourcelist est mal formulé
si c'est le cas, tu copie colle le resultat de la console ici entre des balises 'code'

Dans ton sources.list, tu peux tout supprimer sauf :

Tous les autres sont des doublons.

Pour ce qui est de vlc, peux tu nous mettre le retour de la commande

sudo apt-get install vlc
