ERREUR 17 insoluble [Résolu]

Bonjour

Depuis plus d'une semaine je m'arrive pas à refaire fonctionner grub
il est toujours en erreur 17.
Je suis en dual boot Win XP et KUBUNTU 8.04.1 avec 2 disques dur (IDE).
Win XP sur le 1er et KUBUNTU sur le 2ème.

Avant j'avais déjà précédement installé KUBUNTU 7.10 sur le 2ème DD cet hiver,
et il marchait bien, puis j'ai fais la mise à jour automatique (qui à fonctionnée)
vers 8.04 quand il est sorti.
Quelque temps après, j'ai déjà eu des problèmes de mise à jour des paquets.
Alors j'ai décidé de réinstaller proprement la 8.04 en mettant grub avec KUBUNTU
car pour la 7.10 je l'ai laisser s'installer par défaut.
J'ai d'abord remis le mbr de windows en place, puis réinstallé KUBUNTU (10 fois) et après
je redémarre et au boot pour le choix, quand je veux lancer KUBUNTU il mets erreur 17
alors je choisis Windows alors il mets erreur 15, après je réinstalle grub et pour KUBUNTU
c'est toujours pareil, mais pour Windows il mets maintenant grub laoding stage2.....
et repart à la page de démarrage grub.
J'ai fais des recherches sur le site (avec les tutos et en Live CD):
-réinstallation de grub
-comment faire multiboot propre avec 2 DD.
-Récupérer ubuntu après (ré) installation de windows
(car je l'ai aussi planter, mais je l'ai restauré).
mais çà ne marche toujours pas.

Une aide précieuse serait la bien venue.

change l ordre de demarage des hdd dans le bios chez moi sa a marcher

Il faudrait, depuis un livecd donner les résultats de :
sudo fdisk -l
lister le fichier menu.lst : monter la partition / :
sudo mount /dev/sdxy /mnt où x et y doivent être remplacés par les bonnes valeurs.
puis
sudo gedit /mnt/boot/grub/menu.lst

Indiquer où tu as installé le bootloader de Grub et sur quel disque tu bootes.

Bonsoir jeanjd63 et merci pour ton aide

Pour le bootloader de Grub normalement je l'ai mis dans le 2ème disque en (hd1)
pendant l'installation, quand il le demandait dans "avancé".
pour le boot, j'ai réglé dans le BIOS sur le 2ème disque (sdb) comme indiqué pour l'install en dual-boot

P.S. l'erreur dans windows c'est la 19 pas la 15.

Le fait de démarrer sur le deuxième disque le fait passer premier pour le bios.
Donc il faut rectifier le menu.lst et tout devrait ponctionner ensuite.
Je te mets le menu.lst corrigé :

Ce que je t'ai modifié :

# groot=(hd0,0) --> très important lors de la mise à jour des kernels, car cette variable est utilisée pour générer les nouveaux paragraphes dans menu.lst.

# howmany=2 --> permet de n'afficher que 2 versions du kernel. très suffisant

tous les

et enfin dans le paragraphe Xp
ajouté les map et modifié le root comme indiqué dans le post de zzzzzzzzzzzzz

çà marche!!

Désolé pour la réponse un peu tardive mais hier soir j'étais un peu naze.

j'ai changer le menu.lst et tout est renté dans l'ordre !!

Après, j'ai fais la mise à jour de adept updater et il m'a dit qu'il y avait:
"une nouvelle version du fichier /boot/grub/menu.lst" mais je ne l'ai pas changé,
que dois-je faire la prochaine fois qu'il risque de me le demander ?
est-ce que çà va me refaire le même problème ?

En tout cas Grand mreci à toi jeanjd63 et aussi à zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
pour vos réponses rapides.
Le monde du libre est vraiment super !

P.S. Dois-je écire quand même le "test ubuntu" que zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz avais mis ou ce n'ai plus la peine ?

En fait il faut accepter les modif de menu.lst sinon tu n'auras pas accès aux nouveaux kernel.

Pour y remédier :
sudo update-grub et tu acceptes les modifs.
