Bonjour,

Je possède un ACER ASPIRE 1691 avec une carte graphique ATI MOBILE RADEON x600 sur PCI Express. Je respecte la procédure d'installation sur Hoary postée par Kagou mais j'obtiens un écran noir. Tout fonctionne en aveugle, pas de blocage, seuleument un écran noir.

Solutions ????

Je viens d'installer la Hoary Final sur mon PC de test et pour la première fois je me suis intéressé à l'installation des drivers proprio ATI en tombant par hazard sur ce post..

Après avoir suivi à la lettre les conseils de Kagou et après un reboot, le serveur X ne se lance pas. Je m'en doutais un peu quand j'ai vu qu'il n'avait pas su charger le module fglrx pourant mis en haut de page dans "/etc/modules" et bien sur sans avoir oublié d'installer linux-restricted-modules-686 et linux-restricted-modules-2.6.10-5-686

Après avoir remis le driver generique me voici de retour et je teste un lsmod | grep fglrx pour voir.. Rien du tout !!! Alors avec le peu de connaissance que j'ai de linux je suppose que si les paquet linux-restricted-modules-686 et linux-restricted-modules-2.6.10-5-686 sont installé le module fglrx doit être présent ?

Je me suis dis que ca ne servait à rien d'aller plus loin sans ce module donc je me suis stoppé la.

Maintenant mon PC date de Fevrier 2000

- P3 500Mhz
- 256 SDRAM
- ATI 3D Rage Pro (je n'en sais pas plus sur elle)

Je me demandes si ma carte n'est pas trop dépassée pour ce HOW-TO en voyant des carte ATI récente partout hmm ?

Ca a marché du 1er coup !
Moi qui ai mit tant de temps pour faire ça sous Debian, la ca marche en quelques secondes !!

Mais j'ai un petit problème :

Impossible d'avoir le Direct Rendering : Yes sur un kernel 2.6.11 sad (tout bien compilé je pense)
Alors qu'avec le kernel 2.6.10-k7 d'ubuntu, tout roule !

Il y a une astuce ?

Merci mais moi et l'anglais quand c'est des opérations basic à réaliser je m'en sors mais j'ai déja du mal à configurer linux quand on m'explique en francais alors.. big_smile Si jamais tu tombes sur un tuto en francais pour ma carte tu peux toujours me prévenir..

ALors Là merci..... je viens de passer un bout de temps à configurer ce putain de xorg et sans toi je ne m'en serais jamais sorti!!!!

En fait ca ne marchait jamais quoi que je fasse, alors si ca vous arrive  un conseil réinstallez les inux-restricted-modules, fglrx-control
xorg-driver-fglrx, et recommencez tout.

Depuis que je me suis lancé dans linux, c'est la premiere fois que je reussis à obtenir une accélération 3D digne de mon matériel!!!!!!:D

portable avec P4 3,06 GHz, 512 RAM & Mobility radeon 9700 avec 128 Mo

voici mes resultats:

root@ubuntu-goth:/home/golgoth # fgl_glxgears
1953 frames in 5.0 seconds = 390.600 FPS

root@ubuntu-goth:/home/golgoth # glxgears
8459 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1691.800 FPS

Alors je te propose d'ajouter ça:

Option		"UseInternalAGPGART"	"no"

dans la section Device de ton /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Peut-être que ça marchera mieux.

PS: je n'ai plus Internet à partir de ce soir, donc je ne pourrai plus donner d'indications.
