Mise à jour 6.1 --> 7.04 impossible

Bonsoir, je suis actuellement sous Ubuntu 6.10 et je souhaite le mettre à jour et on me propose d'aller à la version 7.04. Je clique sur "Mettre à jour", l'outil de mise à jour se charge quand soudain j'ai ce message d'erreur : "Échec de l'authentification

Échec de l'authentification de la mise à jour. Il y a peut-être un problème avec le réseau ou avec le serveur."

Je précise que mon serveur est " Serveur pour France " car je ne peux pas en choisir d'autre... Que faire ?

PS : Quand je fais " Verifier " dans le gestionnaire de mises à jour, j'ai ce message :

Échec du téléchargement de tous les fichiers d'index

Le dépôt ne semple plus être disponible ou ne peut être contacté à cause de problèmes réseau. S'il existe un fichier d'index plus ancien il sera utilisé. Sinon, le dépôt sera ignoré. Vérifiez votre connexion réseau et corrigez l'adresse du dépôt dans les préférences.

Salut

D'abord, la edgy 6.10 n'est plus maintenue, donc les dépôts n'existent plus (ton message d'erreur est donc normal).

Tu dois modifier ton sources.list, et remplacer tous les "edgy" par "feisty"
Puis, en "vraie" console (ALT+F1), tu te logues et :

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo reboot

Attention : cette manipulation n'est pas sans danger. Si ton /home n'est pas sur une partition séparée, fais une sauvegarde.
La mise à niveau d'une version à une autre exige que la version précédente soit à jour, mais puisque les dépôts 6.10 n'existent plus, impossible de savoir si ta 6.10 est "à jour" ou pas.

La feisty 7.04 ne sera bientôt plus maintenue non plus ...

Un conseil : installe Hardy 8.04. Mais bon, tu es libre

Oui j'aimerais au final installer hardy... Donc il suffirait que je remplace edgy par hardy ? Par contre je n'arrive pas à modifier sources.list alors que je suis en root ( sudo su - dans term )...

non ça risque d'endommager ton système à changement direct à hardy
si ton home est séparé, réinstalle hardy sans toucher à ton home.
