certaines mises à jour ne peuvent pas être installées

Bonjour à toutes et à tous,

comme le titre l'indique, certaines mises à jour ne peuvent pas être installées
j'ai ce problème récurrent que je ne comprends pas.

"Run a partial upgrade, to install as many updates as possible.
This can be caused by:
* A previous upgrade wich didn't complete
* Problems with some of the installed software
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
* Normal changes of a pre-release version of Ubuntu"

Options "mise à niveau partielle"
qui échoue à chaque fois.

En outre, lorsque je tente de voir

système --> administration -- > source de logiciels

il me demande le passwd , je le donne, il l'accepte, 2 secondes se passent  et... pfuit. Ne fait rien au-delà.

comment puis-je résoudre ce problème svp? j'ai essayé de comprendre mais je n'arrive pas.

que dois-je mettre ici en évidence - code pour que quelqu'un puisse m'aider à comprendre et réparer?

ça ressemble à un changement de version qui n'aurait pas été fait complètement.

en quelle version penses-tu être?
qu'y a-t-il dans le fichier /etc/apt/sources.list ?
exemple pour mon Lucid

Merci pour le lien, j'ai complètement re-édité mon fichier sources.list
mais je n'arrive TOUJOURS PAS à entrer dans système ---> administration ----> sources de logiciels
une fenêtre s'ouvre pour me demander mon mot de passe, je l'introduis, mais cela ne va pas au-delà.

est-ce que quelqu'un saurait me dire comment faire pour rétablir cette application, s'il vous plaît ???
