bonjour les pros!
impossible d'activer ce modem TFM-560 U sur prise USB malgré les tutos suivis...
grrr!
une liste de pilote sympa est sous

mais c'est pour ADSL, pas 56K
sur le site officiel de trendnet, il y a incompatibilité avec GNU/Linux. mais des pilotes standards, ça existe peut-être.
il y a une base "Lucent"

D'après la page, scanModem connaît ton modem, ce scanModem peut être téléchargé ici et il me semble que ce site contient ce qu'il faut pour faire marcher le modem.

Il semble quand même que scanmodem dit d'utiliser le driver agrsm et qu'il y en a sur le site de linmodem : ça ne coûte pas grand chose d'essayer !

bonjour guy!

j'ai récupéré ce qui semblait possible, le agrsm-11c11040-, mais le modem n'est pas détecté par G-PPP malgré ça, ce qui correspond à ce que j'ai pu lire jusque là.. le drame c'est que je maîtrise pas vraiment les tuto en anglais... ce qui n'aide pas non plus
ben on va continuer de zapper sur XP en faisant des essais de temps en temps!

Note bien, qu'il y a des choses à faire avec ALSA, sinon on a le modem qui marche mais on a perdu le son, ce qui est agaçant, juste pour entendre des crachouillis quand on se branche !

Pour ce qui concerne gppp, ce n'est pas évident de le faire fonctionner, mais comme wvdial marche parfaitement, j'ai laissé tomber.

je bute déjà au pt 2. je n'ai pas le fichier" /hda_codec.c" dans le dossier hda. seulement un fichier "Makefile" et "Kconfig"

Le fichier hda_codec.c est dans la paquet linux-source de la version de ton noyau. Le paquet contient les sources pour recompiler le noyau et les modules, c'est gros, 63 Mo dans mon cas.

Pour avoir hda_codec.c il faut installer le paquet des sources linux-source-2.6???
où les ? correspondent à ton noyau. Çà va copier dans /usr/src un gros fichier du genre
linux-source-2.6.31.tar.bz2

on peut voir qu'il y a ce qu'on cherche dedans avec
tar jtvf linux-source-2.6.31.tar.bz2 | grep hda_codec

et déployer l'archive sur le disque avec
tar jxvf linux-source-2.6.31.tar.bz2

en étant pour les deux commandes dans /usr/src pour que tar ait une chance de trouver l'archive.

On peut alors faire le point 2 !! et passer au point suivant...

C'est vrai que c'est mieux quand le module arrive tout compilé, prêt à l'emploi.

et pourtant ce .tar.bz2 est bien dans /usr/src
j'ai essayé un autre moyen

cp: opérande du fichier cible manquant après «/usr/src/linux-source-2.6.32.tar.bz2»
Saisissez « cp --help » pour plus d'informations.

ce que j'ai fait, mais je peine. est-ce là ce qu'il faut ajouter?

Par défaut, les fichiers SOURCES dispersés sont détectés par le biais
d'une heuristique grossière et le fichier CIBLE correspondant est aussi
construit de façon dispersée.  Il s'agit d'un comportement sélectionné
par l'option --sparse=auto.  Spécifiez --sparse=always pour créer un fichier
CIBLE dispersé lorsque le fichier SOURCE contient une assez longue séquence
d'octets de valeur zéro.
Utilisez [b]--sparse=never[/b] pour inhiber la création de fichiers dispersés.

j'aborde la chose différemment:

résultat, avec "enter", le gest d'archive s'ouvre, j'essaie d'extraire depuis là, mais me heurte à l'impossibilité "non root". je ferme ces stupides fenêtres, réentre "enter" dans le terminal et
miracle, une ribambelle de ligne apparaît. dans nautilus, le fichier source est là!!!
y compris hda_codec.c
j'apprends un tas de chose, merci guy!
