(résolu) Un grub2 avec des remarques bizarres avec Maverick

Bonjour

J'ai mis à niveau hier de Lucid à Maverick. Seul Grub2 semble manifester quelques contrariétés sans que cela l'empêche de booter mes partitions que voici:

Les entrées de la table de partitions ne sont pas dans l'ordre du disque

Au démarrage, après la liste des entrées de grub, le message : error unknown command "recordfail"  apparait brièvement sur l'écran puis il lance Ubuntu.
Auparavant, il y avait en plus "vga 791 is deprecated...., gfx quelque chose mais j'ai supprimé cela dans le fichier /etc/default/grub.

En relançant comme conseillé sudo update-grub, il m'a alors informé à plusieurs reprises que

Discarding improperly nested partition (hd0, msdos3, msdos 1)

Si vous avez des lumières sur la façon de pacifier grub2, ce sera pas de refus.
Par exemple, peut-on remettre sans douleur les entrées de la table dans l'ordre du disque ?

J'avais bien regardé des rapports de bugs mais je ne les comprend pas (ce qui n'est pas inhabituel).

Il me semble que grub2 tousse à cause de la partition bootit (sda3) qui est en fait le reliquat d'un bootmanager antérieur et que je conservais un peu par superstition. Il doit effectivement y avoir dedans l'équivalent d'une table de partition ou un truc de ce genre. Auparavant, grub laissait cette partition totalement dans l'obscurité, maintenant, il semble qu'il ait fait des progrès et cherche à comprendre ce qu'il y a dedans.

Comme elle ne me sert plus du tout depuis plus de trois ans (...), je vais la supprimer et voir ce que se passe.

Et pour le "recordfail", est-ce lié aussi à cette partition problématique ?

Au cas où il y aurait eu un changement de version de grub sans réinstallation dans le mbr refaire par précaution un grub-install /dev/sda (sda à adapter). Voir aussi les réglages de grub avec dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc de même que debconf-show grub-pc comme expliqué ici :

Mais plus probablement il y a un "défaut" dans une partition et grub fait du zèle.

J'avais vu ta partition étiquetée bootit. Si tu la supprimes ne pas oublier de refaire un update-grub et reconfiguration avec dpkg-reconfigure car le nombre de partitions va changer suivant comment tu réorganises ta table.

Mais tu pourrais commencer par faire un fsck avec réparation de chacun des systèmes de fichiers. Voir si cela règle le problème. Sinon tu pourrais le classer comme bavardage inutile de grub

Re : (résolu) Un grub2 avec des remarques bizarres avec Maverick

J'avais mis à niveau de Grub legacy vers Grub2 avant même de passer à Lucid en suivant la méthode proposée dans la doc et cela s'était bien passé. Ce qui est curieux, c'est que le "zèle" de Grub intervient pour Maverick alors qu'il était resté discret pour Lucid...

Je vais vérifier mes partitions et suivre tes conseils en supprimant  sda3. Ensuite,  on verra bien, s'ils corrigent la verbosité de Grub, après tout Grub pour le moment lance bien mes partitions.

Edit: effectivement, cela provenait d'un tout nouveau souci de grub pour sda3. Après suppression de sda3, plus de messages angoissés. :

Enfin en ce qui concerne le message bizarre
error unknown command "recordfail" qui apparaissait pendant quelques secondes tout de suite après le menu Grub au démarrage et avant le lancement d'Ubuntu, je l'ai fait disparaître pour Maverick de façon peut-être peu orthodoxe:

sudo gedit /etc/grub.d/10_linux

puis dans le texte, il y avait une occurence de "recordfail" que j'ai tout simplement supprimée. Maintenant, grub marque toujours un petit temps d'arrêt avant de lancer Ubuntu mais il ne proteste plus. Je n'ai pas constaté d'effets pervers...
