Bonsoir
J'ai déjà posté mon problème il y a quelques jours; malbo m' a demandé de poster le résultat de ma demande sur un lien; mais cela me conduit vers un site en anglais que je ne maitrise pas; j'ai précisé ma situation mais je n'ai eu aucune réponse; donc je reitère mes questions dans l'espoir d'avoir des conseils.
Ma situation actuelle:
1) Un disque dur où est installé wxp pro et qui fonctionne normalement.
2) Un disque dur où est installé la version 10 4 d'ubuntu
3) Grub legacy est installé sur le premier disque dur où est windows (je précise que mon pc n'est pas tatoué). et il fonctionne.
Mais problème:
le dossier /sys a été malencontreusement supprimé par un logiciel de nettoyage à partir de windows xp; donc je n'ai plus accès à Ubuntu; le message suivant s'affiche :
"mount: munting /sys on/root/sys failed:No such file or directory"
Je suppose qu'il m'informe de l'absence du dossier nécessaire pour le lancement. Je n'ai pas réussi à partir du live cd de la 10 4 à copier coller ce dossier dans "système de fichier"; le transfert m'est refusé.
Bref j'envisage de remplacer la version 10 4 par la version 10 10; j'ai donc booté avec mon live cd de la 10 10; la seconde fenêtre "allouer espace disque" dispose de 3 choix; si je choisis la troisième option "définir les partitions manuellement", la fenêtre qui s'ouvre me montre en couleur les partitions de mon premier disque dur puis au dessous les 3 partitions de mon second disque dur à savoir / , swap, /home; donc si je veux installer ubuntu 10 10, je dois modifier la partition / en indiquant le type de fichier ext 3 ou 4, en cochant de formater cette partition; donc j'espère qu'en poursuivant l'installation, c'est bien sur cette partition qu'ubuntu 10 10 sera installé?
Autre question:
sur cette même fenêtre il est indiqué que grub sera installé sur mon premier disque dur; mais qu'adviendra t il pour grub legacy? sera t il supprimé et remplacé par grub 2? N'y aura t il pas conflit au cas où les deux coexisteraient? faut il avant l'installation de la 10 10 remplacé grub legacy par grub 2? est ce possible et comment procéder? je pose ces questions car je ne voudrais pas que cette installation me rende impossible à la la fois l'accès à wxp et à ubuntu, ce qui serait un comble

Bon je suis pas un pro mais voici ce que je farais à ta place :
1. Une SAUVEGARDE de ton /home sur un disque dur externe
2. Pour prendre le risque zéro, désactiver dans ton BIOS le disque dur avec windows (où le débrancher physiquement)
3. Installer proprement un Ubuntu 10.10 propre (attention même nom utilisateur et mdp que ta version précédante afin d'éviter tout problèmes avec ton /home sauvegardé)
4. Remettre ton home en place
5. redémarrer ton pc et réactiver via ton bios le dd windows; grub va identifier ton windows (si pas le relancer via ta session ubuntu en faisant sudo update-grub)
Et voilà...
Il y a plus simple, mais là tu ne prends aucun risque

Je m'excuse d'une part pour ce retard dans la réponse et d'autre part pour la question de l'anglais; en effet je ne sais pourquoi mais google m'avait traduit la page dans un mauvais français alors qu'il n'en était pas besoin. bref j'ai suivi le tuto et je poste le résultat comme demandé entr les balises.

Mais quelques précisions avant d'entamer ta procédure:
1) Comment désactiver mon dd windows? en passant à enabled?
2) Lors de l'installation de la version 10 10, une fenetre demande où doit etre installé grub; que dois je mettre? par défaut il demande de l'installer sur le dd windows; s'il ne le trouve pas que va t il se passer? faut il le mettre sur le second dd où est placé ubuntu?
3) Lorsque tout est installé, lorsque je réactive mon premier dd windows, j'aurai un grub legacy au lieu de grub 2. Peut on remplaver le legacy par le grub 2 sans doute plus performant.

enabled = autorisé et disabled = désactivé (donc c'est disabled qu'il faudrait pour désactiver le disque dur sur lequel se trouve Windows)

Il faut toujours installer Grub dans le MBR du disque sur lequel Ubuntu est installé. Donc pas de problème pour toi puisque tu n'auras qu'un seul disque autorisé, le disque destiné à Ubuntu. C'est impossible de se tromper. Et même s'il y avait un problème, avec le résultat de bootinfoscript on peut toujours t'aider à rétablir la situation.
3) Lorsque tout est installé, lorsque je réactive mon premier dd windows, j'aurai un grub legacy au lieu de grub 2. Peut on remplaver le legacy par le grub 2 sans doute plus performant.
On verra après install de Ubuntu mais moi je te conseillerais d'installer le lanceur Windows dans le MBR du disque Windows. Pourquoi faire compliqué ? On te dira comment faire le moment venu.
La procédure à suivre en pas à pas est celle-ci :

ta partition à monter dans / est sdb1
ta partition à monter dans /home (sans formatage) est sdb3
Conformément au pas à pas, tu n'as pas à t'occuper de définir quelque chose pour la swap, ni pour une autre partition. Tu n'as à t'occuper que de sdb1et sdb3 .
Attention, comme tu vas désactiver le disque windows qui est actuellement nommé sda par Ubuntu, il est possible (mais je n'en suis pas certain) qu'au moment de l'installation, ton disque dur destiné à Ubuntu soit nommé sda. Tu oublieras de t'affoler et tu t'adapteras en identifiant tes partitions par leur taille (je veux dire qu'il est possible que tu aies à définir sda1 pour / et sda3 pour /home). Cette petite vacherie n'aura pas de conséquence fâcheuse parce que Ubuntu identifie les partitions non pas par leur nom (sdxy) mais par leur UUID comme tu peux voir dans le résultat de ton bootinfoscript pour fstab (les lignes /dev/hdxy sont des commentaires, seules les lignes UUID comptent) :

UUID=f396969c-513d-45f4-ab6b-c33664c9b554 none swap sw 0 0Après installation et rebranchement du DD Windows, il est très possible que ton DD windows devienne sdb (au lieu de sda aujourd'hui). Tout ça n'est pas important puisque, je le répète, Ubuntu ne s'intéresse qu'aux UUID et si tu as des ennuis après install, tu posteras le résultat du bootinfoscript (maintenant tu sais faire) et on te guidera.

tu vois que la désignation des disques n'influe pas sur le bon fonctionnement de Ubuntu 10.10 (c'est ça la force des versions récentes de Ubuntu pour s'affranchir des problèmes de nommage des disques qui affectaient les anciennes versions de Ubuntu)

Je fais une pause à propos de la mise à niveau de ma version ubuntu.
En effet comme je l'explique dans une autre discussion avec babdu89 sur ce même forum, j'ai suivi ce qu'il me disait à propos du dossier /sys disparu.

Donc pour l'instant je n'ai pas trop de bugs sur ma mise à niveau vers la version 10 10. si toutefois il venait à s'en déclarer d'importants, je suivrai vos conseils pour installer proprement la version 10 10 en lieu et place de ma mise à niveau.

Puisque tu jettes l'éponge, peux-tu passer le sujet en résolu en modifiant le titre de ton premier post pour qu'il devienne :

Je te propose de modifier un peu le titre original parce qu'il est incompréhensible tel que tu l'as écrit (je ne sais pas ce que veux dire "dsur la 10 4")
