[Résolu] Dapper Xorg et NVIDIA : portable Samsung X10

Bonsoir

j'ai lu le wiki et installer les paquets *linux-restricted* correspondant aux noyaux que j'utilise mais l'utilisation du driver nvidia propriétaire ne fonctionne pas sur mon portable (Samsung X10)

3 - j'ai trouvé sur l'équivalent allemand en forum ubuntu les options suivantes
à positionner dans la section ... Device ...

4 - j'avais galéré sur Breezy pour utiliser un deuxième écran externe et visiblement le driver nvidia "voyait' l'écran externe en tant qu'écran principal et l'écran du portable en écran secondaire ... mais cela fonctionnant sans l'écran externe avec l'accélération matérielle

quelqu'un aurait-il une idée lumineuse ?

A priori tu as un problème avec ton écran.... mais je n'ai pas bien suivi...est-ce que c l'ecran principal de ton portable ou c'est l'écran externe ?? Est-ce que ca marche avec uniquement l'écran de ton portable ??

Si tu regardes ton xorg.log les lignes avec des erreurs sont celles commencant par (EE):

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failure reading maximum pixel clock value for display device
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     TV-0.

puis

(EE) NVIDIA(0): The requested configuration of display devices is not
(EE) NVIDIA(0):     supported in the hardware.
Fatal server error:
AddScreen/ScreenInit failed for driver 0

Bilan, je pense effectivement que tu doives ajouter des lignes dans le xorg.conf pour mieux configurer ton écran...mais la je ne peux pas trop t'aider...

Apparemment tu possèdes une geforce 4, qui n'est supportée que par les pilotes nvidia-legacy wink

Désolé de te contredire mais je voudrais apporter quelques précisions : officiellement, les GeForce4 sont parfaitement supportés par les derniers drivers nvidia !! Regarde la liste des produits supportés à cette adresse et tu verras. Sa carte, une GeForce4 440 Go 64M figure dans cette liste. De plus, tu remarqueras que le xorg.log ne renvoie pas d'erreur sur le chargement des drivers.
Néanmoins, il est vrai que, officieusement, nombres d'utilisateurs ont eu des problèmes avec ces cartes qui ont été résolus avec l'installation des "vieux" drivers legacy.

NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org 'legacy' driver

These XFree86 4.x/X.Org binary drivers provide optimized hardware acceleration of OpenGL applications via a direct-rendering X Server and supports the TNT, TNT2, TNT Ultra, GeForce, and GeForce2 chipsets. AGP, TV-out and flat panel displays are also supported.

This is the 'legacy' driver for older chipsets. Unless your chipset is explicitly listed in the above paragraph, please use the nvidia-glx driver, which is much more up to date.

To enable the driver, run "sudo nvidia-glx-config enable".

Les pilotes legacy sont pour toutes les cartes inférieures ou égales aux Geforce2 wink

cela ne marche pas avec uniquement l'écran du portable alors que cela fonctionnait avant en Breezy

Il faut modifier ton premier post pour le passer en résolu.
Sinon pour les drivers legacy, tant mieux si ca marche..je ne sais pas pourquoi mais c comme ca, d'autres personnes on remarqué ce phénomène sur les GeForce4 de portables...
Quand une autre version des drivers nvidia sortira, essaies-la, ton problème sera peut etre résolu....
M'enfin sinon, le truc vient de ton écran donc c'est aussi de ce coté la qu'il faut chercher !
