Driver ATI ne marche plus apres mise a jour du système

Bonjour,

J'ai un probleme avec mon accéleration 3D de ATI (c'est une Radeon 9700 mobility). J'ai suivi le Wiki pour l'installation http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/ati. Tout a bien marché, l'acceleration 3D etait bien effective.

Mais, depuis une mise a jour du noyau linux par le gestionnaire de mise a jour (pour la version linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15-26-686), l'accélération 3D ne fonctionne plus sad (je ne suis pas sur, mais je crois qu'il y a eu aussi une mise a jour aussi de xorg, je ne sais pu)

J'ai réitéré la procédure d'installation des drivers ATI en suivant le Wiki (en prenant en considération le nouveau noyau) mais ca ne marche toujours pas, je ne m'y connais pas beaucoup dans ce domaine, je ne sais pas donc pas quoi faire de plus.

Tu as bien installé linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15-26-686 (ça semble être le cas, mais mieux vaut confirmer) ?

Si oui, peux-tu donner le résultat de :

fglrxinfo
grep "(EE)" /var/log/Xorg.0.log # journal de l'interface graphique
dmesg | grep fglrx # pour vérifier que le module se charge bien

?

Alors, en executant une par une les commandes ci dessus:

Oui, désolé pour la faute (c'est corrigé wink).

argh, c'est pas vrai, j'ai encore fait une autre faute de frappe mad :

grep "(EE)" /var/log/Xorg.0.log

(il y avait un apostrophe en trop, ce qui fait qu'on ne voyait pas s'il y avait des erreurs ou pas)

Peux-tu afficher la section "ServerLayout" (je crois que ça s'appelle comme ça) de ton xorg.conf ?

J'ai oublié de répondre, oui c'est bien ceux la que j'ai d'installé, j'ai aussi viré tous les anciennes versions ainsi que tous les xxxx-386

Sinon, j'ai lu ce topic il ya qques jours, http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=50420 (tu as d'ailleurs résolu le probleme de la personne), j'ai fait ce que tu avais marqué

l suffit d'ajouter DISABLED_MODULES="fglrx" dans /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common, et de faire un "sudo depmod -a"

mais ca n'a rien changé hmm

Cette manipulation est à faire si tu installes les pilotes ATI à partir du fichier téléchargé sur le site d'ATI et non celui des dépôts. wink
(car là ça te désactive le module lol)
Donc il faut que tu enlèves fglrx de DISABLED_MODULES smile

(EE) fglrx(0): Fail to initialize ASIC in kernel.

En revanche, j'ai déjà eu cette erreur... elle est causée par un problème de dépendances inter-modules, qui normalement se résoud en recalculant les dépendances ("sudo depmod -a") et en redémarrant. wink

J'ai retiré fglrx de DISABLED_MODULES et fait sudo depmod -a suivis d'un reboot mais ca ne marche toujours pas hmm

Salut à tous
J'ai le même problème avec mon portable HP. J'ai une carte vidéo ATI 9600 M10 et le direct rendering à toujours marché (j'ai jamais eu trop de problèmes avec les version précédentes d'Ubuntu ni avec Dapper) jusqu'à cette nouvelle mise à jour du noyau..
J'ai bien  linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15-26-686 installé (il s'est installé tout seul par la mise à jour puisque le précédent était installé)
J'avais aussi le paquet xorg-driver-fglrx installé

Je continue à chercher

j'ai :
xorg-driver-fglrx et fglrx-kernel-2.6.15-26-686 installés

et j'ai modifié :
DISABLED_MODULES="fglrx" dans /etc/default/linux-restricted-modules-common

j'ai toujours pas d'acceleration graphique.....

Au fait si je vire xorg-driver-fglrx et donc que j'ai juste linux-restricted-modules-2.6.15-26-686 installé, X ne se lance même pas. Apparemment il ne veut pas du module fglrx des restricted modules (ou il ne le trouve pas ?)

Moi avec toutes les versions d'Ubuntu j'ai eu des misères avec ATI, c'est une plait ces drivers, à chaque mise a jour du noyau, plus rien ne marche a chaque fois. Une chose est sur, ma prochaine cg, ce sera pas du ATI mad

J'espere qu'on arrivera a resoudre notre probleme...

C'est très bizarre, en plus on ne trouve pas grand chose sur cette erreur avec l'"ASIC" dans google. La seule fois que j'ai eu affaire à elle, elle s'est résolue par un "sudo depmod -a"... hmm

Tu peux afficher quelques lignes de ton xorg.log avant et après cette erreur ?

Voila quelques morceaux du xorg.log. Un truc bizarre que j'ai constaté, dans le /etc/X11/, j'ai mon fichier xorg.conf, mais j'ai aussi ces fichiers :

4/ Au pire, si tu as vraiment besoin de l'accélération graphique, désinstalle tous les paquets fglrx et reconfigure ton serveur graphique pour utiliser le pilote "ati". Il fonctionne vraiment bien pour les cartes <= 9250 Pro, et il fournit une accélération pas trop mauvaise (moins de fps que les pilotes fglrx, mais c'est correct) pour ma 9800 Pro, donc avec ta 9700Mobility ça devrait aller smile

Et est ce que si j'installe directement les derniers drivers ATI telechargé sur leur site au lieu de passer par ceux de dapper j'ai une chance de faire marcher l'acceleration 3D?

Au pire, si tu as vraiment besoin de l'accélération graphique,

J'en ai tout simplement besoin pour pouvoir matter des divx, car dans l"etat actuel des choses, je suis obligé de rebooter sur Windows pour juste regarder un film, le comble!! Sinon les vidéos sont sacadées à mort, donc c'est impossible a regarder.

Une ptite question, peut on empecher la mise a jour du kernel, comme ca dans le cas d'une nouvelle mise a jour, ca evitera de casser de nouveau mon systeme.

Supprimer les méta-paquets linux-{386,686,k7}, linux-image-{386,686,k7} et linux-restricted-modules-{386,686,k7} devrait faire l'affaire.

Oui, mais dans ce cas là, je peux pas installer les drivers ATI alors, nan? En fait j'ai dans l'idée d'employer les grands moyens, faire une reinstallation de Ubuntu, installer les drivers ATI avec le noyau de base et ne plus faire de mise a jour du noyau par la suite, car je tiens pas à me refaire avoir une fois.

J'ai eu le même problème que vous avant hier.
Pour le résoudre j'ai suivi les instructions de la méthode 2 de cette page http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu … tion_Guide
N'oubliez de télécharger la dernière version du driver et aussi d'effectuer les instructions suivantes:

sudo dpkg -r fglrx-control

Une copie d'une version antérieure de libGL.so.1.2 est peut être necessaire (la version 8.24.8).
Une fois ceci fait, n'oubliez pas de remplacer, dans le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf,  "ati" par "fglrx"  dans la section "DEVICE"

Moi j'ai résolu le problème en reinstallant tout le système (merci la partition /home séparée) et en utilisant le dépot de Mrpouit sans la mise à jour des drivers vidéo (merci Mrpouit smile ) :
deb http://mrpouit.tuxfamily.org dapper-pouit backports contrib openalchemist
En fait je crois que c'est les anciens dépots de Mrpouit qui m'ont mis le bintze (ceux avec les drivers ati)..

Même problème que vous les gars. J'ai exacetment les mêmes erreurs dans le log de Xorg.

Bref je suis exactement dans la même m****.
Je suis en train de charger l'image DVD de kubuntu pour une install propre parce que là je suis désespéré.
J'arrive même pas à passer aux drivers libres. Dans ce cas là mon serveur graphique plante au démarrage.
Bon courage. Je suis les infos au cas où. Le temps de charger l'iso DVD.

Es-tu sûr d'avoir installé les linux-restricted modules correspondant à la version de ton noyau ?
Que renvoie cette commande ?

specialement moi aussi a la migration pas d'acceleration 3D sur ma petit ati radeon 9700 de mon portable . de toute facon je m'en servirai pas mais.
J'ai suivit le tuto et tout marche nikel juste une petite ligne a rajoute a la fin je join mon xorg.conf si ca peux aider des gens

j'ai peut etre modifie 2, 3 truc a la main je sais plus mais ca marche
