RÉSOLU/Impossible de changer résolution d'écran (Xubuntu)

Bonjour à tous

Je viens d'installer Xubuntu sur un pc packard bell imedia 6600@ avec un écran Samsung syncMaster 510s

Voici la configuration de ce vieux PC:
-Modèle : Multimedia 6600@
-Processeur : Pentium III 600 MHz
-Mémoire : 192 Mo RAM
Mémoire vidéo : Voodoo3 - 2000(8MB S GRAM) TV-out
Carte Mère : Bora Pro

et il met impossible de règler la résolution d'écran, ce qui fait que tout est démesurement grand, les fenêtres dépasse de la largeur et l'hauteur de l'écran, ce qui fait que je ne peux valider avec les boutons en bas à droite, dans les programmes...

Spécifications de l'écran non détectées

Ouvrez le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf dans votre éditeur de texte favori. L"exemple ci-dessous utilise nano car il est relativement simple d"utilisation (autre possibilité en mode graphique : gedit).

sudo nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Recherchez dans ce fichier la section nommée "Monitor”. Entre les lignes Section "Monitor” et EndSection, vous devriez voir apparaître deux lignes qui débutent par les mots HorizSync et VertRefresh. Si elles ne sont pas présentes, vous avez des chances que ce soit la raison de votre problème !

Vous avez maintenant besoin de trouver l"information nécessaire, soit dans le manuel de votre écran, soit par la ligne de commande, soit sur le Net (par ex. en entrant le modèle de votre écran dans Google). Vous avez besoin de connaître la fréquence de synchronisation horizontale (habituellement mesurée en kHz) et le taux de rafraîchissement vertical (normalement en Hz). Ces informations sont habituellement disponibles sous une forme du type "30-98 kHz” ou "50-160 Hz”. Vous pouvez également essayer la commande suivante :

sudo ddcprobe | grep monitorrange

Si votre écran supporte cette commande (ce qui n"est pas toujours le cas), la première paire de chiffres affichée correspond au taux HorizSync, la seconde aux valeurs VertRefresh.

Il y a deux manières d"entrer ces valeurs dans le fichier de configuration. La première est semblable à la solution précédente, excepté le paramètre -plow qui vous posera quelques questions supplémentaires :

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.custom
sudo sh -c 'md5sum /etc/X11/xorg.conf > /var/lib/x11/xorg.conf.md5sum'
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -plow xserver-xorg

La deuxième possibilité est d"entrer manuellement les valeurs dans le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Dans ce cas, n"oubliez pas d"effectuer au préalable une copie de sauvegarde :

sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.backup

Éditez le fichier (cf. commande nano ci-dessus) en ajoutant les deux lignes HorizSync et VertRefresh selon l"exemple ci-dessous (mais avec vos valeurs bien sûr – n"essayez surtout pas de mettre des valeurs au hasard, ça ne marchera pas !!) :

La modification précédente n"est peut-être pas suffisante. alors il vous faudra aussi mettre la résolution que vous souhaitez en l"ajoutant selon l"exemple ci-dessous (ici "1280×1024", mais avec vos valeurs bien sûr).

Effectivement dans mon fichier Xorg.conf je n'ai pas de valeur pour le monitor:

Il ne parle même pas de samsung Syncmaster 510s....

Je n ai trouvé que la valeur HorizSync qui est 30-61 KHZ mais pas la valeur VertRefresh.

Est-ce que quelqu'un la connaitrait pour mon écran samsung SyncMaster 510s?

Et me suffit-il de rajouter ces valeurs pour avoir le choix des résolutions?

J'ai un module graphique Voodoo3 - 2000 qui semble être reconnu...mais qui n'est pas nomminé de la même façon que le mien...:

Est-ce que ca fait qqe chose quand tu fais "CTRL ALT +" ?

Pourrais-tu copier le contenu de ton /var/log/Xorg.0.log?

Pour la commande ctrl-alt-+ ça le fait dans firefox , je peux réduire ou augmenter la taille du texte mais cela ne joue pas sur la taille des fenetres.

En ce qui concerne mon fichier /var/log/Xorg.0.log?

Bon...

A 1ere vue, X ne semble pas detecter les frequences de ton moniteur, du coup il se met en 640x480.

Je vais regarder si je trouve une configuration de frequences qui marchera avec ton ecran.

Sinon pour le CTRL ALT +, ca te permet de changer la resolution de X, ce qui dans ton cas ne marche pas puisque seul le 640x480 est reconnu.

Je reviens vers toi aussi vite que possible pour resoudre ca.

Bon je viens d'essayer de remplacer ma section monitor mais malheureusement cela m'a planté au moment du reboot...
Je suis en train d'essayé de remettre ça en état mais il me dit toujour qu'il y a un probleme comme si xorg.conf était mal configuré

Oups, desole, j'ai oublie qu'en changeant la valeur "Identifier" ca causerait un probleme avec la config en dessous, essaye ca plutot:

Fais bien attention a faire une copie de sauvegarde de ton fichier xorg.conf qui marche avant.
