Ben quand tu supprimes un package, tu as deux possibilités : remove, qui laisse les fichiers de configuration, purge qui supprime tout. Donc en fait, on utilise purge la plupart du temps.

Est-ce que je pourrai installer oneiric à sa sortie et pouvoir tout de suite installer bumblebee et profiter d'une meilleure autonomie? J'ai un asus u43jc (d'ailleurs j'utilisais ta configuration sur l'ancien bumblebee ArchangeGabriel wink )

Tout d'abord, ma config : Ordi portable ACER Aspire 7739G & Nvidia GeForce GT 520M (Optimus donc). 2 écrans.
J'ai suivi l'installation préconisée (ppa) dans le premier message du topic, et tout s'est déroulé parfaitement. En redémarrant comme demandé, j'ai eu peur de me trouver face à un écran noir, ce que l'installation classique des pilotes propriétaires sait tellement faire faire... mais non, tout a marché comme sur des roulettes. Les test glxspheres me font passer de 29.789257 frames/sec - 33.244810 Mpixels/sec à 59.274247 frames/sec - 66.150060 Mpixels/sec, donc y'a du mieux et ça se voit big_smile

Donc un grand bravo et plein de félicitations, avec en prime des "merci" pour le boulot effectué ! Suis toujours aux anges de (re)découvrir chaque jour cette magnifique entraide dans la communauté linuxienne, ça fait plaisir.

Sinon si j'ai cédé à Bumblebee c'est pour un jeu, Football Manager 2011, et tout particulièrement l'éditeur de ce jeu. Tout se lance très bien sous wine, mais l'éditeur - et le jeu aussi, les matchs surtout - rament pas mal. Donc j'avais essayé de les lancer aussi sous Virtualbox (avec mon ancien portable ça fonctionnait très bien avec les additions invité de Virtualbox gérant la 3D), mais là impossible. Du coup je vous fais un petit retour par rapport à ça :

J'ai essayé de lancer Virtualbox avec Optirun : ça ne fonctionne malheureusement pas mieux.
J'ai essayé de lancer Optirun Wine pour mon jeu, et là par contre ça empire les choses. Enfin, niveau vitesse je pense qu'effectivement ça ne rame plus du tout, par contre j'ai de gros bugs d'affichage, l'écran qui ne se raffraichit pas ni rien, l'écran de jeu hein, qui clignote. Bref, strictement injouable. Mais j'essaierai quand j'aurais un peu plus de temps en paramétrant wine différemment, peut-être que ça pourrait arranger ça.

Et enfin, le but recherché, j'ai essayé Optirun Wine et l'éditeur de mon jeu et là : parfait. Tout simplement parfait. Aucun ralentissement. "Parfait" est le seul mot possible smile

Je ferais des essais donc en changeant la config de wine pour le jeu et si ça s'arrange, je viendrais vous le signaler.

Pour ce qui est d'oneiric, il n'y a a priori pas de problème de notre côté (on a déjà des utilisateurs de cette distribution depuis plusieurs mois). Cependant, oneiric introduit des changements majeurs dans la gestion des fichiers librairies, ce qui inclut de gros changements pour les drivers nVidia notamment. Actuellement, il faut bidouiller un petit peu pour s'en sortir.

Cela dit, pour votre plus grande satisfaction à tous, nous ferons des tests de mises à jour d'une distro 11.04 vers 11.10 avec bumblebee et différents autres paramètres (installation ou non du PPA supplémentaire, utilisation ou non du Power Management).

Ainsi que des tests sur une installation propre (personnellement, je préfères réinstaller complètement le système à chaque changement de version).

En ce qui te concerne plus particulièrement, j'aurais fait tous les test sur mon Asus U43Jc, donc je pourrais te donner tous les petits "trucs" supplémentaires.

Pour ce qui est de faire tourner Bumblebee dans une VM, cela n'apparaît pas du domaine du possible pour l'instant (on a besoin d'accéder au matériel réel, pas celui émulé par le programme).

Pour ce qui est de faire tourner une VM via Bumblebee, je ne sais pas si c'est du domaine du possible, mais en tout cas ça demandera certainement beaucoup de travail.

Pour ce qui est de faire tourner Wine avec Bumblebee, ça marche la plupart du temps, mais après c'est un peu le double combo d'"Application recipes", c'est à dire que comme ce qui se fait sous Wine, i.e. des petits changements à faire pour pouvoir faire fonctionner tel ou tel programme avec Wine, il y aura quelque chose de similaire pour Bumblebee. Du coup, pour certaines applications, il est nécessaire d'appliquer des changements côté Wine et d'autres côté Bumblebee. Pour ton cas, je ne sais pas où le problème se situe, il faudrait analyser des logs complets de la situation pour savoir. Si tu parles un peu anglais, je te conseille de parler de cela sur GitHub, section issues de Bumblebee.

Pour enlever IronHide proprement, le mieux c'est de faire ceci :

sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
sudo ppa-purge ppa:mj-casalogic/ironhide

Ensuite, suis la procédure d'installation présente dans le premier post de ce topic, comme si tu avais utilisé une ancienne version (donc en exécutant le script cleanup lorsque nécessaire).

Si vous avez une idée de problème et une solution je suis preneur. Merci d'avance

PS : Je suis en dual screen et je tourne sous la 10.10 j'attend la 11.10 pour changer.

Ici, ce problème est souvent résolu par :

sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-current

Sinon :

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade nvidia-current

Enfin, non ça n'est pas une erreur dans le fichier cleanup (tu n'es pas le premier à la signaler, on va ajouter des comments là-dessus), cleanup sert à désinstaller l'ancienne version, dans laquelle /etc/bumblebee était un fichier, et donc on se base sur ce fait pour détecter ou non la présence d'une ancienne version.

Sinon, en une seule ligne:

sudo apt-get remove bumblebee --purge

En ce qui concerne Wine & Bumblebee, j'ai effectué quelques petits modifs dans la config de Wine, rien de bien méchant, juste passé la résolution du bureau émulé de 1024x768 à 1152x864 (ça, je pense que ça ne change rien au problème), et surtout, coché la petite case "Autoriser le Pixel Shader". Après plusieurs essais (mais ça, c'est normal, ça vient du jeu en lui-même qui a quelques soucis avec Wine), j'ai pu lancer le jeu avec cette nouvelle config Wine, et avec Optirum : carte 3D reconnue, tout fonctionne à mer-vei-lle.

Voilà, reste plus que la VM avec Bumblebee mais en l'état..ça ne m'apporterait rien puisque tout fonctionne directement sous nunux désormais big_smile

Tu utilises acpi_call non ?

C'est le message que l'on obtient lorsqu'on essaye d'utiliser la carte après l'avoir désactivé (puis réactivé) alors que le module nvidia tournait.

Dans ce cas, ceci devrait corriger le problème (jusqu'à la prochaine fois que l'action suscitée à lieu) :

rmmod nvidia
modprobe nvidia-current

Le résultat c'est que tu as un problème avec libGL, qui est la raison pour laquelle nous n'avons toujours pas releasé la version suivante, car nous cherchons une solution à ce problème, qui touche un grand nombre d'utilisateurs dans des situations très différentes.

Pour la différence avec 11.10, ben 11.10 gère bien mieux Sandy Bridge, donc performances bien meilleures.

Bonsoir ArchangeGabriel je compte installer Lubuntu 11.10 beta demain car mon Asus U43j ne s'éteind pas avec Natty et comme c'est la rentrée il me faut un portable qui marche. Je peux installer oneiric avec bumblebee du ppa sans qu'il y ait de soucis? Dois-je aussi ajouter le ppa ubuntu-x? La configuration se fait automatiquement ou je devrai choisir mon portable parmi une liste comme sur l'ancien bumblebee? Devrais-je installer acpi_call ( le tout premier projet en la matière?)

Oui, normalement tu peux installer sous Oneiric sans problème. Pas besoin du PPA supplémentaire, les drivers nvidia contenus dans 11.10 sont plus récents.

La configuration est automatique.

Pour ce qui est d'acpi_call, ce sera fait automatiquement par la prochaine version de bumblebee, qui devrait être disponible depuis une semaine, mais qui est retardée par divers problèmes dont je n'ai malheureusement que très peu de temps pour m'en occuper (je devrais réussir à faire ça d'ici la fin de la semaine prochaine).

Sinon, si tu comptes utiliser des applications 32bits, n'oublie pas d'activer le support de multiarch dans 11.10 et installe aussi la version i386 de virtualgl-libs.

Sur un CLEVO B 5100 avec Debian squeeze, j'ai installé debumblebee sans problème & ça marche impeccable. Enfin, quand je lance un programme avec optirun ça tourne nickel. Mais tout le reste devient instable, tout ce qui dépend d'OpenGL refuse de se lancer (Cairo par exemple, ou Tilda). J'ai fini par le désintaller.
J'attends la prochaine version avec impatience, félicitation quand même pour le travail réalisé.
