Comment savoir quelle version du pilote ATI est installée

Bonjour à tous,

Question en apparence bien sotte, j'en conviens. "La version installée, c'est celle que tu as installée!!". Toutefois, cherchant à optimiser ma gestion de ressource matériel, j'ai suivi ce tutoriel:
http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/catalyst
et ai installé la11.8 (voir en particulier la variante 2.4). J'ai bien pensé à désinstaller mon ancien pilote (sudo apt-get remove fglrx*). Quel est le problème alors?!

Je n'ai pas l'impression d'avoir fait quoi que ce soit et ce pour au moins trois raisons.
1) l’interface de catalyst n'a pas changé d'un iota, que ce soit visuellement ou en terme de fonctionnalités proposées
2) je n'ai, entre la désinstallation de la précédente version et l'installation de la nouvelle pas subit le moindre désagrément visuel (je pense en particulier aux traditionnelles perturbations des effets 3D du bureau)
3) L'interface "pilotes supplémentaires" m'indique l’activation du même FGLRX qu'à mon installation alors qu'il me semble bien avoir utilisé le ati-driver-installer-11-8-x86.x86_64

De plus (Cf méthode 2.4 d'installation), sont verrouillés (donc utilisés ?) 4 fichiers répondant aux noms suivants
-fglrx_8.881-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb
-fglrx-amdcccle_8.881-0ubuntu1_amd64   (qui, si je ne me trompe pas, correspond à catalyst)
-fglrx-dev_8.881-0ubuntu1_amd64
-fglrx-installer_8.881-0ubuntu1_amd64


Je n'ignore pas qu'il existe des nuances entre les pilotes FGLRX et les dits HD RADEON et RADEON. De même qu'il ne faut pas confondre interface graphique du pilote, pilote et marque de la carte (HD 6870, pour info). Mais tout de même, qu'ai-je fait? Comment savoir quelle version du pilote est installée et effectivement utilisée? Existe-t-il un moyen de savoir cela en ligne de commande? Est-ce normal d'installer un driver du nom de 11-8 et de se retrouver avec des fichiers en 8.881?

si tu colles dans ta réponse le contenu du fichier Xorg.0.log qui se trouve dans /var/log (à coller entre balises comme expliqué ) nous pourrons vérifier quel est le pilote qui est effectivement utilisé.
D'autre part, tu trouves ça dans la doc : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/carte_graphiqu … _graphique
qui dit :
Il est possible de connaître sa carte graphique ainsi que le pilote utilisé avec la commande:
lspci -v | grep -A 12 VGA
Dans l'exemple de la doc, cette commande renvoie plusieurs lignes dont celle-ci :

Kernel driver in use: i915

Donc le pilote effectivement utilisé est le pilote i915

Je te prie de coller aussi dans ta réponse le résultat de cette commande pour qu'on puisse vérifier la cohérence de ce résultat avec ce qui apparaît dans le fichier Xorg.0.log

Version: 8.88.7 si j'en crois le log, ce qui ne correspond pas  aux .deb que j'ai crées lors de la procédure. Quant à la commande, celle-ci ne m'indique pas la version.  A n'y rien comprendre. j'ai cru comprendre que les performances des pilotes différaient (Cf http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=631241); un avis sur la question?

Je ne suis pas assez compétent pour te dire si c'est OK ou pas. J'espère que des ubunteros pouront te donner un avis là-dessus.
