(résolu) duo beryl emeralda

:)bonjour,

   je suis sous edgy avec une carte radéon X740XL.

   je viens d'installer suivant ce tuto : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/applications/beryl                                                                 

      Beryl et Emeralda  avec succès ??!

si j'arrive effectivement à les lancer , je ne peux  quasiment rien en faire :
    sous beryl impossible de  voir un nouveau bureau
     sous emeralda , idem pour les thèmes?

        l'accélération 3 D est bien activée après vérif dans un terminal.

   pourriez vous me donner une piste  pour qu'au moins  j'aie l'impression de ne pas avoir fait l'install. pour rien.

    à tout hasard je vous envoie un xorg.conf

ce que je trouve étrange, c'est que tu as 2 devices
l'un avec radeon et l'autre avec fglrx.
si tu utilise fglrx, je ne suis pas sur que ça marche sans xgl.

   ça vient du fait que j'ai dû configurer manuellement xorg après la 1ere install. d'edgy car  j'ai eu droit à l'écran noir au 1er lancement. ( sans doute que la carte ati radeon n'était pas reconnue).
   ça a fini par se lancer mais je me retrouve maintenant avec  3 xorg.conf différents

   Je crois qu'il faut déjà faire du nettoyage là dedans mais quoi garder???

    et qui sait , ça ira p-être mieux avec Beryl?

 
    si tu pouvais m'aider dans cette tâche , ça serait sympa...

les différents fichiers xorg.conf sont des sauvegardes, laisse les, ils pourraient te servir.
bon, pour que beryl fonctionne, il faut que tu es l'accélération graphique, tu as donc 2 possibilités.

soit utiliser les drivers propriétaires "fglrx", auquel cas pour beryl il te faudra installer xgl
pour ça tu as ce tuto : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/ati

soit utiliser les drivers libres "radeon" : http://doc.ubuntu-fr.org/materiel/ati_radeon
mais il faut avant que tu désinstalle tout ce qui concerne fglrx. En gros, une fois que tu n'as plus de trace des "fglrx", tu reprend le fichier xorg.conf.200611052 et tu remplace Driver "ati" par Driver "radeon". (et tu le renomme en xorg.conf)

Dans tout les cas, tant que tu n'as pas l'accélération graphique, laisse tomber beryl pour le moment. si tu l'as mis au démarrage de ta session, enlève le de là.

je ne sais pas si je suis assez précis ??
les tutos sont bien fait ça devrait aller.
je ne sais pas précisément pour ta carte, mais tu devrais essayer en premier avec les drivers radeon.

merci pour ton suivi,
  j'ai bien l'accélération graphique  (j'ai vérifié avec  glxgears), ainsi qu'avec   glxinfo | grep rendering.

    c'est pour ça que je veux utiliser Beryl (qui est déjà installé mais pas fonctionnel).

     mes fichiers xorg.conf n'ont pas l'extension  "backup" , sauf 1 que je ne t'ai pas envoyé.(pour ne pas surcharger).

   je pense ne pas faire d"erreur en supprimant le device  fgrlx  du tout 1er fichier xorg.conf que t'ai envoyé (il a 2 devices).
      ou alors j'applique ta solution et j'ajoute des lignes en fin de fichier:

flop complet,

   j'ai viré dans synaptic tout ce qui concernait  frlgx pour installer les drivers libres radeon.   je redémarre mais plus  d'interface graphique ;j'ai dû reconfigurer manuellement  XSERVER .xorg. j'ai réinstallé les paquets  fgrlx ;
   j'ai réussi à avoir la 3D mais si jr fais un  beryl-manager  j'ai le message qui revient régulierement dans les forums pour ceux qui n'ont pas droit à Beryl :
      XGL Absent, checking for NVIDIA
Nvidia Absent, assuming AIGLX
beryl: No composite extension


                j'ai essayé plein de choses lues et relues sur les forums mais sans succès.

   j'ai un PC lifetec avec 1 radeon x740xl

et je te redis que si tu utilise les drivers propriétaires d'ati, tu dois installer xgl pour faire marcher beryl. Le message d'erreur que tu as te dis bien : "XGL Absent, checking for NVIDIA
Nvidia Absent". Donc c'est normal que beryl ne fonctionne pas.
cherche dans la doc l'installation de xgl.

dans les 1ers post que tu as fait tout était correct, il te manquait que xgl ou alors il était installé mais tu n'avais pas lancé beryl sous une section XGL.

Pour ceux qui se demande pourquoi albatros00 a des sections en double c'est normal c est quand on installe fglrx puiis qu'on fait

$ aitconfig --initial

pour finir l'installation, le driver crée de nouvelles sections avec fglrx et les specs qui vont bien mais sans enlever les anciennes.

Sinon le tuto pour beryl dans le wiki est assez bien fait mais il y a une boulette enorme !! apres l'installe de fglrx ils passent directement à l'installation de beryl + emerald sans parler de l'installation de XGL, grosse erreur !! Je pense que c est pour ça que ne marchais pas chez toi albatros00

PS : @albatros00 modifie tes posts pour mettre le xorg.conf entre balises code parceque là ça prend trop de place hmm

bonsoir G-rom,

    je viens d'avancer en te lisant ... d'un pas vers le gouffre,

       non , je plaisante à peine , ce que j'ai fait: j'ai simplement rajouté XGL dans ma session de démarrage.

   j'ai redémarré et l'espace d'un instant j'ai vu beryl et son rubis éclairer mon écran,

         j'ai cru l'espace d'un instant au miracle ...

              mais tout est devenu blanc puis plus rien, tout s'est figé dans une absence de tout  et , je ne sais pas si tu vas me croire , quand j'ai essayé  au hasard la touche F7  , plusieurs rectangles blancs sont apparus avec un point d'interrogation bleu en bas à droite...

..... il était 1 H. et je n'avais pas bu ...

  je suis allé en recovery (+ d'autre choix possible) , j'ai tapé startx  et je suis reparti avec un bureau originel en langue anglaise tout pur et tout neuf.

                à partir duquel je t'envoie ce post

      euh...  peux tu me dire comment retrouver ma config. d'origine   et après , je crois , après  ttes ces épreuves que je vais laisser tomber Beryl , il m 'en a fait trop voir!!!

ne t'affole pas c'est normal. tu aurais du faire start gdm et non startx. c'est pour ça que tu t'es retrouvé avec tout en anglais.

reboot un coup et reprend ta session normale ça devrait etre bon. si tu ne veux pas redémarrer ctrl+alt+f1 pour retourner en console. sudo killall gdm puis start gdm devrait fonctionner ou meme peut etre une simple fermeture de session pour relogage (ça se dit ça ?? oO) en session classique gnome.

apres bin euh vire tout si tu veux arrêter beryl :

1) les dépots beryl
2) mise à jour avec un ptit apt-get update etc etc
3) tu vire xgl beryl toussa toussa et tous les fichiers de conf
4) et tu te fais un truc propre avec juste le fglrx des dépots et le xorg.conf qui va bien.

mais jpense que t'étais pas loin quand meme dommage, devait juste manquer un truc dans ta config de lancement de xgl ou dans ton accel 3D et pis faut rappeler que beryl est toujours en version 0.1 que la méthode XGL n'est vraiment pas tres propre hein donc ça peut pas marcher facilement chez tout le monde du 1er coup wink attendez la version de beryl sans le tfp et y aura plus besoin de tout ça tongue

ça se complique : quand je fais startx (à partir de la console)

   je démarre en anglais  avec un bureau  différent mais je retrouve certains de mes fichiers.

                       quand je fais start gdm   j'ai  >>> unknown job

       et enfin et surtout!!!

   quand je démarre en mode normal  , et c'est là que je fais "help" à vous:

          la barre de progression arrive à son terme  , j'ai le son et le logo d'ubuntu puis>>>   STOP  , écran figé sans bureau  , rien de rien ,?

        j'éteins donc et je repars en mode recovery  où J'ai UN SEUL résultat , pour l'instant  : avec startx , je démarre en anglais.

          que faire en root pour que le boot normal se termine , je n'en suis pas encore au formatage, du moins j'espère ?

en mode console fait un ptit coup de sudo vi /etc/apt/source.list pour remettre bien tes dépots puis tu fais apt-get update et enfin vire tous les trucs lié à beryl et xgl.

dans ton xorg.conf remet nv au lieu de nvidia pour voir.
supprime en gros toutes les manip que tu as faites pour tenter de retrouver un truc clean.

    quand j'ai lu ton message , j'avais déjà formaté ma partition racine pour réinstaller edgy  car à force de parcourir les forums et d'apporter tjrs plus de modif. , je ne savais plus comment faire machine arrière.

   et là je mesuis dit , allons y à nouveau pour beryl , j'ai installé XGL  , mes pilotes sont les propriétaires  (fgrlx) et ma carte est bien une ATI.

     je ne comprends pas ton dernier post  où tu parles de mettre nv pour nvidia??

     j'aimerais bien remplacer ma section "device" par ces lignes

ouais dsl j'ai confondu avec un autre poste ou le gars avait des problemes avec une nvidia hmm

et sinon pour la section device pourquoi tu veux la remplacer ??? oO
si tu regarde la section server layout tu verras que c'est la section Device avec l'id "aticonfig-Device[0] qui est utilisée, donc tu peux pas le remplacer par une section qui s'appelle autrement, ou alors faut changer les section ou apparaissent cet id.

J'ai déjà expliqué pourtant pourquoi apres un aticonfig --initial on se retrouve avec ce genre de chose relis plus haut.

Sinon maintenant que tu as la 3D effectivement tu peux retenter XGL puis beryl, mais il y a plusieurs tuto pour XGL et surtout les script de lancement de XGL diffèrent presque partout c'est assez chiant... à toi de trouver celui qui marche chez toi.

PS: et modifie ton 1er post pour mettre ton xorg.conf entre balises code yikes

Perso j'ai une ATI Radeon Mobility x300 et je viens enfin de rouler Beryl avec succès. C'est magnifique!

Bon alors voyons si on peut t'aider. On devrait d'abord mettre ton xorg.conf au propre. J'ai vu que tu as tenté d'utiliser le pilote libre sans succès, mais à mon avis tu n'as pas poussé assez loin. J'utilise le pilote "radeon" avec succès, je t'encourage à le faire.

Faisons un état des lieus si tu veux bien : envoie à nouveau ton xorg.conf, ainsi que ton log /var/log/Xorg.0.log
On va essayer de voir où tu t'es rendu.

    au moins j'aurai appris à mettre des balises big_smile
     j'ai le proprio installé    donc également XGL  et pour tester beryl  je fais un beryl- manager dans la session en cours.Mais tu connais mon parcours + que chaotique  ( j'étais pas loin car j'avais rajouté beryl-manager à la session de démarrage...mais je vais pas tout redécrire...)

donc , j'ai bien la 3 D ,

          pour tester Beryl , je tape beryl-manager  dans une session en cours ,j'ai alors des fenêtres qui scintillent comme si une recherche n'aboutissait pas  et j'ai ce fameux message d'erreur:

le pb doit venir de là.

Ps :as tu essayé de configurer le serveur x avec cette commande
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
parce que c'est peut-être normal d'avoir un xorg comme ça après cette commande : aticonfig --initial
et que quand ça marche peu importe mais dans ton cas de n'avoir qu'une section device, monitor et screen, serait nettement plus lisible et clair.
j'insiste là dessus, mais j'ai l'impression qu'il te met ta carte sur 2 bus différents et beryl se lancerait sur la 1° (?)

salut grisouille,
  j'ai mis le bus ID dans la section DEVICE avec le pilote "fgrlx" , plus rien n'a démarré et j'ai restauré le xorg.conf avec le backup.

    je pense qu'il y a un pb. en amont:
   tou au début,
    edgy ne s'est pas installé sur le PC car la CG n'était pas reconnue.
   donc pour pouvoir lancer edgy , j'ai dû commencer par faire un
      sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg et j'ai fait une config. manuelle de ma carte avec le seul pilote accepté : VESA !

     ça a permis de lancer edgy  mais je n'avais pas la 3 D >>>>> j'ai fait  sudo apt-get install xorg-driver fglrx  fglrx-control libqt3-mt

   suivi d'un aticonfig --initial   ,   puis une vint enfin une 3 D à 12000fps.

        à la suite de ça , j'ai installé Beryl mais c'est un flop...

       je t'ai exactement décrit le chemin parcouru pour arriver a mon xorg.conf.

non non tout le monde chez ATI à ce message d'erreur ou presque, c'est parceque tu dois avoir 2 sorties vidéo sur ta carte ou un truc du genre.

il n'y a pas d'erreur conséquente dans ton log.

Moi je te conseille de ne pas mettre beryl-manager dans les trucs de démarrage de ta session mais plutot de lancer ta session XGL puis une fois celle ci bien lancée et sans bug de taper beryl-manager dans un terminal.

montre moi aussi ton script de démarrage xgl peut etre qu'il y a une erreur dedans.


Quand tu ne sais pas (cherche puis) demande, quand tu sais partage.

Bon alors je viens de lire ton log Xorg.0.log et le premier truc j'y remarque, c'est :

J'ai pas d'idée pour ce message d'erreur vue que dans le xorg.conf que tu fournies, il n'y a aucune référence à aiglx nulle part...
