Comment configurer une ATI mobility radeon x1450 sous edgy ?
Bonjour,
après avoir installer edgy sur mon portable qui a une carte ATI mobility radeon x1450, l'affichage etait lent (notamment en bougeant des fenetres).
J'ai donc installé les pilotes proprietaires des depots
(ie $ sudo apt-get install xorg-driver-fglrx fglrx-control libqt3-mt )
A partir de là, l'affichage est correct, mais en testant fgl_glxgears, je ne vois rien (fenetre noire) et voila les resultats (qui ne sont pas brillants me semble-t-il) :
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
2749 frames in 5.0 seconds = 549.800 FPS
3007 frames in 5.0 seconds = 601.400 FPS
3053 frames in 5.0 seconds = 610.600 FPS
3054 frames in 5.0 seconds = 610.800 FPS
la commande fglrxinfo me renvoie ca :
~$ fglrxinfo
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: Generic
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6011 (8.28.8)
Cette ligne semble montrer que le rendu n'est donc pas optmisé :

Comment pourrais-je faire pour ameliorer les resultats de rendu ?

PS : je n'ai pas essaye d'installer les derniers pilotes ATI sachant que c'est deconseillé dans la doc...

Dis tu peux faire un
glxinfo | grep direct
et aussi publier ton xorg.conf?

Tu a deux section devices! Supprime celle qui comporte VESA.

j'ai supprimé la section qui contenait vesa, et du coup, le pc n'arrivait plus a rebooter

rajoute en plus "fglrx" dans la liste des modules à charger au démarrage... et ca devrait aller.

j'ai deja fglrx dans /etc/modules !
j'ai modifié le xorg.conf pour avoir une seule section device :

mais c'est pareil. Des que je lance une appli qui a besoin d'open gl, c'est tout noir !

finalement cette modification du xorg.conf ( en melangeant les deux sections ) ne fonctionne pas non plus (impossibilité de rebooter apres modification du fichier ....
please help me !!

Salut, je ne sait pas exactement quand sont sortis les drivers pour ta carte graphique, mais il semblerait que ce soit assez recament...
Donc, essaye de retablir ton ancienne config, et de mettre les drivers les plus recents disponibles sur le site d'ATI, on ne sait jamais...

pour edgy j'ai utilisé cette méthode http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Edgy_Installation_Guide
mais attention les pilotes ATI sont vraiment mauvais, sur mon portable ça plante pour un oui ou pour un non, perte de l'hibernation etc etc ... ,du coup j'ai mis le radeon dans mon xorg sans acceleration graphique, au moins ça plante plus !!!
