probleme wifi (malgré de nombreuses tentatives)

bonjour tout le monde,
J'avoue que je commence à saturer... Cela fait deux jours que je fais des recherches sur le net (et les manips correspondantes) mais rien n'y fait!!
Ma carte wifi intégrée est une artheros xxxx donc j'ai essayé de suivre les manips indiqués dans des posts sur ce forum pour utiliser madwifi... ouallou!!!
Pas de découragement, j'essaye l'installation des drivers windows avec ndiswrapper.... même résultat!   :-(
Je ne sais plus quoi faire !! 
Je suis un tout nouveau venu et je ne peux que suivre à la lettre ce que je trouve de ci de là...

une autre info : ma carte wifi semble "montée" en ath0.
Seulement, quand je vais dans administration > outils reseau, il ne se passe rien en ath0 alors que wifi0 semble emettre?!    kesako?
Il semblerait qu'il y ait un conflit à ce niveau(??) ....

deja tu as un probleme.
Si tu regarde ton dmesg, tu voit que la carte wifi est bien reconnue par ubuntu puisque qu'il te charge une carte ath0. A prioris tu n'avait donc besoin de toucher a rien ta carte est reconnue d'entrée.

Commence par desinstaller ndiswrapper car maintenant tu va avoir un conflit entre les deux.
Ensuite verifie que tu as bien le paquet wireless-tools d'installé.

Une fois que tu aura fait ca, tu redemarre ton pc et tu donne le resultat des commandes:

ta carte est donc bien ath0 et elle semble reconnue. Tu n'a plus qu'a la parametrer.
Elle a deja trouver un reseau wifi cylab, mais apparament elle n'est pas associée au point d'acces. Tu doit lui rentrer la clef wep utilisée.

sudo iwconfig ath0 enc XXXXXXXXXXXXXX (ta clef)
sudo dhclient ath0

et avec un peut de chance ca marchera

autrement ton wifi0 m'embete la, je serais toi, je ferais
sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces
et je virerais tout ce qui ne concerne pas lo, eth0 et ath0

derniere chose, n'essaye pas d'utiliser en meme temps ta carte reseau rj45 et ta carte wifi sur le meme reseau, tu va faire planter tout le bordel smile

Tu as bien entrer ta clef wep?
tu as redemarrer le pc apres avoir enlever le contenu de /etc/network/interfaces ou au moins redemarrer le reseau (sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart) ?

y'a un probleme.
Dans ton fichier interfaces, tu demande un montage de la carte en dhcp et tu lui colle une ip fixe. C'est ou l'un ou l'autre mais pas les deux en meme temps.

Le plus simple a mon avis, tu ne garde que les deux premieres lignes de ton fichiers (celles qui concernent lo), tu vire tout le reste.
Tu installe networkmanager et gnome-network-manager, tu reboot et tu voit si nm te configure ta carte correctement

J'ai installé networkmanager (et 4 fichiers nécessaires) mais je n'ai pas trouvé de trace de gnome-networkmanager....
Etant un newbie, je ne sais que lancer une recherche dans le gestionnaire de paquet synaptic....

non, quand tu redemarre ton pc, tu devrait trouver une petite icone pret de l'horloge. Si tu est connecté en eth0, tu voit pas grand chose, mais si tu te deconnecte tu devrais voir l'icone changer pendant qu'il initialise la carte wifi. Ensuite clique droit sur l'icone et tu doit voir la liste des cartes qu'ilreconnais et des reseaux sans fil qu'il capte, tu clique dessus et il te demande ta clef wep

Désolé, j'ai réalisé trop tard (après le msg) qu'il fallait rebooter...
Au redémarrage :

Il y a eu une erreur lors du démarrage du démon des préférences Gnome.

Certaines fonctionnalités, comme les thèmes, les sons ou les fonds d'écran peuvent ne pas fonctionner correctement.

Le dernier message d'erreur était :

Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

Gnome essaiera de redémarrer le démon des préférences la prochaine fois que vous vous connecterez.

Ensuite quand je deconnecte l'ethernet, l'icone affiche une croix sur fond rouge et puis... rien de plus!!
Le clic droit m'indique pourtant que le wifi et l'ethernet sont activés (cochés du moins...)

pour que networkmanager fonctionne, tu ne doit rien avaoir de configurer dans /etc/network/interfaces, nm s'occupe de tout gerer (excepté lo) a la place de ce fichier. Si une information concernant une carte apparait dans le fichier, nm n'essaiera pas de la configurer.

ne laisse que les deux premieres lignes, sinon nm ne configuera pas ath0

reboot....
pareil....  :-(

pourtant même après reboot, j'ai verifié, il ne reste bien que les deux premieres lignes (io).

sudo killall nm-applet
sudo nm-applet
