La 3D avec une carte ati marche avec Knoppix mais pas avec Ubuntu ???

Bonjour,

Et oui, encore une question sur les cartes ati et la 3D.

J'ai essayé d'avoir la 3D avec plusieurs drivers mais je n'y arrive pas. Et même malgré tous les posts qu'il peu y avoir à ce sujet je n'arrive pas à trouver la solution.

J'ai un portable avec une carte ATI radeon IGM 345M. En fait je n'arrive jamais, même en mettant un autre driver, à avoir l'accélération 3D.

Ce qui est très bizarre c'est que je n'ai aucun problème avec le live cd de Knoppix. J'ai l'accélération 3D et Beryl marche nickel

Du coup, j'aimerais savoir s'il est possible de récupérer la config de Knoppix (driver et, ou paramètres) pour la mettre sous ubuntu.

Très bonne idée de vouloir récupérer la conf de la knoppix.

Pour cela met sur un clé ou autre le fichier /etc/X11/xorg.conf généré par la knoppix et regardes avec synaptic quels paquets sont installés.

J'ai copié ce fichier et, pour tester, je l'ai mis à la place de celui qui était à l'origine dans Ubuntu, mais ça ne marche pas du tout.

J'ai donc remis le fichier xorg.conf d'ubuntu.

Comment puis-je faire pour regarder avec synaptic quels paquets sont installés. Quand j'ouvre Synaptic je peux voir les paquets installés dans ubuntu, mais pas ceux de knoppix.

Montre moi ton fichier xorg.conf et celui généré par la knoppix (les parties Device, Modules et Screen)

J'espère ne pas avoir fait trop de modifs dans le fichier xorg.conf d'Ubuntu. En tous cas, c'est celui que j'utilise maintenant. Normalement c'est à peu près le fichier que j'avais à l'origine car j'avais restauré cette configuration.

Envy prend en charge les ATI depuis peu. Il récupère automatiquement le bon drivers (suppposé) chez le constructeur, compile et configure tout seul.

Si tu ne résoud pas ton problème, ça se tente...

Ben en fait ça ne marche pas chez moi car il installe le pilote officiel d'ATI, c'est-à-dire "fglrx" mais ça plante le serveur x. Du coup j'ai remis dans xorg.conf le driver "ati" à la place.

quand je tape :

glxinfo | grep rendering

Il me met :

direct rendering: No

Y a t-il un moyen de forcer le direct rendering ?

Ça y est, c'est inattendu mais j'ai réussit à résoudre le problème !

J'avais installé debian pour voir et là j'avais l'accélération graphique, ce qui fait que j'avais donc pu installer beryl et le bureau 3D marchait bien. Je me suis donc dit qu'il y avait un truc bizarre avec la distribution d'Ubuntu.

J'ai donc réinstallé Ubuntu, mais PAS la distribution sur CD, mais la distribution DVD, et là, surprise, l'accélération 3D marche.

Visiblement, les distributions CD et DVD ne sont pas les mêmes, il n'y a pas seulement pus de logiciels dans la version DVD.
