vidéos bleues en tv-out clone

Bonjour,

j'ai un petit souci avec xorg.conf sur l'ordinateur de mes parents. J'arrive bien à avoir le tvout, je vois bien le bureau gnome en mode twinview clone... mais tous les lecteurs (mplayer, kaffeine...) n'affichent plus les vidéos correctement : ils n'affichent plus qu'un bleu uni et fixe. Le pire c'est que ça fait ça sur les deux sorties : le moniteur de l'ordinateur et la télévision. Et là j'avoue que je m'y perds les chèvres.
J'ai remarqué que le problème n'apparaît pas pour les résolutions hautes, à partir de 1024x768. Là les vidéos s'affichent bien mais seulement sur l'écran d'ordinateur, car la télévision ne supporte pas des résolutions si hautes. Le problème n'apparaît que pour la résolution dont j'ai besoin : 800x600 (et 640x480 aussi). J'ai trifouillé le xorg.conf dans tous les sens, en suivant les tutos et plusieurs posts, mais je retombe toujours sur ce problème de vidéos bleues sur les deux sorties. Si quelqu'un pouvait me dire d'où ça vient, merci d'avance.


L'ordi tourne sous Ubuntu Dapper, avec une Nvidia Ti4200 dont la 3D fonctionne.
Le moniteur est un Iiyama 17'.
Les seules infos que j'ai pu récupérer sur la télé sont :
pal/secam 100hz
pal60/ntsc 120hz
La transmission de la vidéo se fait par un système infrarouge, que j'ai déjà vu fonctionner avec un autre système d'exploitation que je ne nommerai pas.
