Désolé de vous déranger encor il y a un truc que je ne sais pas pour hdmi et pourtant je comprend la traduction c est:trigger a start of the x server with (optirun true) ,declencher le démarrage du server x avec vrai,es ce une ligne à changer dans un fichier si oui lequel car pas indiqué ou une commande?

Salut !
Depuis le passage de mon portable (asus U35JC) sous xubuntu 12.04, j'ai d'énorme problèmes avec le driver officiel de nvidia et bumblebee.
Problèmes qui semblent réglés depuis que j'utilise le driver nouveau avec bumblebee.

J'ai une question : bumblebee est-il obligatoire pour nouveau ? J'ai lu que les derniers kernels embarquaient un truc qui faisaient le switch automatiquement (PRIME ou quelque chose du genre) : concrètement, qu'en est-il ? Est-ce que ça marche et donc est-ce que je peux me dispenser de bumblebee ?

Seconde question : la commande :

grep rate /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state

Ne marche pas sous la 12.04. Qu'est-ce qui remplace cette commande ?

Bumblebee ne sera plus obligatoire pour nouveau quand PRIME sera là en effet. Enfin c'est pas tout à fait exact, on en discutait hier, PRIME permet juste d'utiliser les deux cartes, mais pas de gestion énergétique, et pas user-friendly du tout (pire que Bumblebee sur ce point).

Mais pour le moment tu vas encore devoir attendre, car si le support préliminaire est effectivement arrivé dans le noyau 3.5 publié dimanche, il faut utiliser un server X.org compatible, ainsi que des drivers nouveau et intel qui supportent ce système. Et actuellement, ça veut dire tout compiler directement depuis les repo git de David Airlie. Et ce, pour avoir un embryon de projet fonctionnel.

Comme je disais, la conclusion de nos discussions hier, c'était de ne pas s'attendre à voir PRIME pour le grand public avant 13.04 au plus tôt en ce qui concerne Ubuntu.

EDIT : Et pour ta seconde question, j'en sais rien, moi j'utilise toujours ça qui marche en tout cas chez moi :

cat /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/state

Glxgears lancé avec optirun me renvoie ce truc (à noter que glxgears marche quand même) :

Error: nConfigOptions (15) does not match the actual number of options in
       __driConfigOptions (9).

C'est normal ou non ? (à noter que j'utilse le dépôt xorg-edgers pour les drivers vidéo)

C'est pas normal dans l'absolu, mais c'est normal si tu utilises xorg-edgers. Au passage ça explique pourquoi tu as des problèmes avec le driver proprio, il faut effectuer deux changements pour l'utiliser dans /etc/bumblebee/bumblebee.conf :
1) Changer Driver= par Driver=nvidia
2) Changer KernelDriver=nvidia-current par KernelDriver=nvidia
Ensuite tu redémarres et ça devrait marcher.

Oui, j'avais vu le message de Nepenthes. Mais dans l'absolu ça ne changeait rien : ça bloquait au boot. Avec les drivers nouveau, pas de problèmes (enfin, à condition de rajouter dans /etc/default/grub l'option "nouveau.modeset=1"), et vu l'utilisation (boulot), ça ne me gène pas plus que ça. smile

En tout cas, le truc de la batterie me chiffone. Je n'ai même pas de dossier "battery" dans /proc/acpi. Pourtant, l'applet de batterie de xubuntu me renvoie bien comme périphérique "battery_BAT0". hmm

Non les deux dernières lignes c'est rien, c'est juste la carte qui fait des siennes car bbswitch est un peu trop rapide. Beaucoup d'erreurs ACPI dans le log, mais c'est dû à vga_switcheroo apparemment.

Mais sinon pour la batterie je ne sais pas, elle est bien marqué détectée comme BAT0 par l'ACPI...

Euh oui en recompilant le noyau sans, mais ça n'a pas beaucoup d'intérêt. Et à terme, c'est lui qui doit remplacer bbswitch je pense.

@GP74:et bien voila finalement j ai abandonné pour la hdmi,un peu trop complex pour moi j ai donc ésseillé de revenir au pilot 302 pour récuperer mon unity mais rien à faire,j ai donc décidé de l'enlever (tout qui portait le nom unity ou presque via synaptique avec suppression complete de configuration)  et de mettre DOCKY à la place et lor d un redémarrage j'ai un méssage qui me dis:

"The system is running in low graphics mode" suivi de "Your screen, graphics card, and input device settings could not be detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself"

je fais OK et ça m'ouvre une fenètre avec plusieurs choix mais impossible d'aller plus loin,ce méssage m'était  tout le temp indiquer l'orsque j'ésseillai d'ouvrir le control panel nvidia et qu'il fallait que je bidouille le xserver et j ai du mainte fois formater mon pc,pour l'instant je préfère attendre car j ai un autre portable et j ai monté le disque dur du pc cassé en externe pour jouer plus facilement sur les fichiers et dossiers,si je pouvais les récupérer et faire du copier coller ce serrait impec et ainsi récupérer ma configuration.aider moi s ils vous plait dans la mesure du possible.

Euh vu le bordel que tu nous fais, je te suggère de récupérer toutes tes données, de faire une installation propre, et de te cantonner aux instructions de bases pour l'installation de Bumblebee, sans utiliser xorg-edgers.

Bonsoir,
Etant propriétaire d'un pc samsung utilisant la technologie Optimus, j'ai voulu installé Google Earth. je vais donc sur le site de celui ci, télécharge le .deb, l'installe et effectue un apt-get -f install pour récupérer les paquets restant. Cela ne marche pas, la console me dit de faire un apt-get update ce que je fais. Cela fonctionne après. Ensuite google earth ne marchant pas, je vais donc vérifier sur le site et les pc 64 bits doivent aussi installer lib32nss-mdns. Bon google earth ne marche toujours pas. Je désinstalle, j'autoremove.. et j'en profite pour faire une maj du systeme. Le soucis est que maintenant je n'ai plus accès à la luminosité de mon pc. J'avais déjà pas accès aux touches fn + luminosités avant. Voila que ça ne marche plus sur "Luminosité et verouillage." Lorsque je veux baisser la luminosité, l'écran se met a clignoter et freeze complet. Obliger de faire un hard reboot. Par ailleurs lorsque je fais un apt-get update, j'ai des Ign dans la liste. Je suppose que c'est pour ignorer non ?

Je ne sais pas trop, mais a priori tu n'es pas au bon endroit pour obtenir de l'aide sur ce problème.

bon bein voila j ai tout formate,domage que ce problem ne peut etre résolu ca aurrait souvent je pense sauver plus d une configuration j éspere que les probleme du a optirun serront bientot régler,merci a vous de votre soutien et bonne continuation dans dans le dévellopement.

C'est bon j'ai compris d'ou venait le problème. Lors de la MAJ j'ai installé le kernel 3.2.0-27. J'ai essayé de repassé en 3.2.0-25 pour voir. et la la luminosité peux se baisser normalement.

Déjà bravo pour cette initiative ! (et merci pour le premier post bien détaillé, il est trop tard et je suis trop crevé pour me taper les 75 pages maintenant ^^)

Je me pose une question simple : je cherchais à remplacer mon portable par un petit ultrabook genre Asus UX31, mais je me suis toujours dit que c'était pas la peine de s'y essayer à cause justement des technologies embarquées. Maintenant que je vois ce projet je me dis peut-être que...

Vous conseillerez l'achat d'un tel PC (utilisation Ubuntu/Debian, éventuellement dualBoot Win mais en règle générale plutôt machine virtuelle) ou plutôt rester raisonnable en conseillant de prendre autre chose parce que c'est encore trop bidouille et instable pour justifier un achat en connaissance de cause ?

J'ai peur de faire une connerie tongue

(genre de mon côté j'ai une carte son Line6 UX2 pour des petits enregistrements, je l'avais achetée à l'époque où j'étais encore chez Microsoft mais ça a été la merde pour la faire marcher sur Ubuntu. Et encore à ce jour c'est pas bon, avec le recul j'aurais certainement pas pris ça).

(HS oui oui metalux j'avais installé ces pilotes mais en ce qui me concerne, j'ai un problème de son à l'enregistrement, genre des claquements que j'ai pas sous win, et des petit trucs chiants, genre pas possible d'utiliser l'entrée stéréo ou vu-mètre en façade qui ne fonctionne pas.. Mais merci quand même wink )

@Beamboomer : C'est à voir en fonction de tes usages. Si tu as besoin d'une carte graphique dédiée, alors de toutes façons pas trop le choix. Du côté de Bumblebee, a priori on ne va plus beaucoup améliorer le support malgré les possibilités que l'on a, pour des raisons que j'expliquerai d'ici quelques jours. En revanche, un support niveau noyau et driver (libre en tout cas, pour le proprio je reviendrais là-dessus aussi) est en passe d'arriver, et devrait être bien en place d'ici l'an prochain, chez Ubuntu ça sera 13.04 a priori. Donc de ce côte tu n'attendras pas trop longtemps, contrairement à des gens comme moi qui ont ce problème depuis début 2010. En revanche, si tu n'as pas besoin d'une carte graphique dédiée, fais l'impasse, chez Asus dans les Zenbook Prime il y a des modèles sans qui sont très bien.

Un grand bravo et merci pour la documentation et le travail fournit.

J'envisageais d'acheter une machine vu les prix très intéressants en ce moment, mais j'avais bien souvenir que Linus avait fait quelques remarques sur cette technologie. A lire la doc, je vois qu'en plus, il risque d'y avoir des problèmes avec le port HDMI, c'est vraiment contraignant hmm

Mon utilisation est plutôt simple, bureau par défaut en 12.04 sous Unity 3D, lecture et encodage de contenus HD. A coté, il est important pour moi de pouvoir me brancher sur un écran ou un projecteur avec ce poste (En vga ou en hdmi du coup). J'envisageais une configuration comme ça car Steam débarque et je voulais pouvoir au passage faire quelques parties si l'envie m'en prenait. Comme l'impression que sur la base du simple fait de faire mes présentations avec ce poste, je ferais mieux de me retourner vers une config plus simple avec un chipset graphique intel tout bête et envisager de ne pas faire de jeux smile

Juste une question, je vois un poste en i7 QM, qui n'est a priori par concerné par cette technologie, il y a t'il une raison à cela ? Je trouve un peu bizarre que sur les processeurs les plus puissants, cette technologie ne soit "visiblement" pas là. Pour le coup, la carte graphique est très correcte ! Ce qui pourrait être une bon compromis pour mon achat !!! smile

Le lien que tu donnes n'est pas un i7 QM, mais il est vrai que certains i7 QM ne sont pas concernés, mais mieux vaut pouvoir tester ou vérifier l'information pour chaque modèle dans ce cas.

D'autre part, le premier jeu arrivant sous Linux avec Steam est L4D2, et apparemment les développeurs Valve et Intel travaillent main dans la main pour optimiser les performances sur ce matériel. Donc si le HDMI est vraiment important, mieux vaut se rabattre sur du Intel only pour le moment. Sauf si tu as la possibilité de tester, car de rares PC Optimus ont la sortie HDMI sur la carte Intel (le mien par exemple, ce qui explique pourquoi je n'ai jamais pu m'occuper de cette fonctionnalité).
