[RESOLU] Cartes graphiques non reconnues sur Inspiron N5110

Bonjour à tous,

Je viens tout juste d'installer Ubuntu sur mon laptop Dell Inspiron N5110, équipé des cartes graphiques suivantes : Nvidia GeForce GT 525M et Intel GMA HD 3000. Pour information, je suis également sur une session Gnome classique (gnome-fallback-session). L'installation est complète (plus de Windows sur mon disque, celui-ci plantait grave et j'ai paumé les DVD de réinstall).

Voici mon problème : il me semble que mes cartes graphiques ne sont pas reconnues par Ubuntu. Quand j'essaie "Pilotes additionnels" dans les paramètres système, il ne me trouve tout simplement rien. Dans Détails > Carte graphique, il me dit "Pilote : Inconnu" et "Expérience : Restreint". Au lancement de Stellarium, il me dit que je ne suis pas compatible OpenGL.

J'ai essayé d'installer à la main les pilotes pour la GT 252M (fournis sur le site Nvidia), en coupant le serveur X etc, mais ça foire encore plus : au redémarrage, j'ai une résolution d'écran toute pourrie et un message comme quoi aucune des résolutions n'a marché. J'ai viré le driver (en fait, réinstallé Ubuntu en désespoir de cause).

Je suis donc actuellement avec mon Ubuntu fraîchement réinstallé, aucun driver supplémentaire installé, pas de support OpenGL, et a priori aucune carte graphique reconnue. (Remarquez que pourtant la résolution actuelle est bonne : 1366 * 768).

Voilà je m'en fous de faire fonctionner la Nvidia (à moins qu'elle soit indispensable pour essayer de faire tourner Civ4 avec Wine, mais j'en doute), je peux me contenter de la carte Intel, mais qu'elle soit au moins reconnue et "fasse tourner" OpenGL ! Pouvez-vous m'aider ? Merci par avance. Au fait, j'ai déjà fait quelques recherches sur les forums mais pas trouvé mon problème spécifique. Désolé donc si je suis passé à côté de quelque chose.

Salut à toi,

Bon je suis au regret de te dire que ta carte graphique n'est effectivement pas bien supporté par linux, je possède exactement le même portable que toi et j'ai le même problème. La faute à une technologie utilisé par nvidia à savoir Optimus. Pour plus d'information je te conseille de regarder ce post Doc nvidia optimus .

Du coup je te déconseille fortement d'installer les pilotes nvidia qui ne servent à rien à par faire planter le serveur x.

Heureusement, certains programmeurs se sont lancés dans la résolution du problème. il existe encore pas mal de problème mais la solution permet quand même d'utiliser la carte graphique. cette solution s'appelle bumblebee. Ce programme va te permettre d'utiliser ta carte nvidia quand tu en aura besoin et de l'eteindre le reste du temps (car oui elle reste allumé et bouffe énormément de batterie). Tu trouveras toute la documentation nécessaire ici Doc bumblebee et si tu as des soucis ou autre tu peux en parler sur le forum ici forum optimus/bumblebee

Si tu as d'autre question n'hésite pas, j'ai eu le même problème que toi et je sais à quel point ça peut être chi*** décourageant.

Sinon j'aurais une question comme on possède grosso modo le même pc :
As tu des problème de surchauffe avec ? par exemple lorsque tu joue à des jeux gourmants sous win 7 (si compter que tu joue sur pc smile )

Edit: peut tu mettre le résultat de ton xorg.conf dans une balise code. Ainsi on évite d'encombrer les pages avec du texte pas toujours utile wink

Ah bien vu pour la balise code, j'y avais pas pensé... Bon bah va donc falloir que je fasse avec. Je vais voir cette histoire de Bumblebee. Sinon nouvelle déconvenue : j'ai éteint puis redémarré mon ordi sans rien changer à la config carte graphique (pas d'install en particulier ni rien) et maintenant plus moyen de passer au delà de la résolution 600*480 (autant dire que c'est casse-cou****s)... Je vais installer Bumblebee et voir comment ça se profile.

Sinon je ne suis pas un gros gamer sur PC. Je joue à Civ4, beaucoup, et effectivement mon PC a tendance à chauffer et faire tourner le ventilo, mais ça n'a jamais été au point de le couper brutalement (ça arrive à l'un de mes amis avec qui je joue à Civ4, qui pourtant a un ordi censé être plus puissant que le mien avec Core i7). Je notais des T° de proc à 75°/78°, voire 80° quand je jouais longtemps.

Mais bon, cet ordi n'est finalement pas génial, et apparemment encore moins pour Ubuntu... Je vous tiens au courant de mes efforts déployés avec Bumblebee. Est-ce que au moins tu as réussi à garder une résolution max et un support OpenGL ? Parce que moi je n'en demande pas plus !

Pour info le problème s'être résolu de la façon suivante : j'ai réinstallé Linux et installé Bumblebee avant d'installer gnome-session-fallback. Maintenant la carte graphique a l'air de fonctionner, mais il me reste quelques bugs, principalement sur l'affichage, qui vont sûrement bientôt faire l'objet d'un nouveau sujet sur une autre partie de ce forum...

Ne t'inquiète pas, avec ubuntu, je ne rencontre quasiment plus de problème avec ma carte graphique. Même si Bumblebee n'est pas parfait, il permet de corriger les plus gros problèmes et ça me suffit. Bon exit les gros jeux qui demande pas mal de ressource et certain jeux moins récent. Danw of war dark crusade rame un peu mais fonctionne.

Sinon concernant l'openGL celui ci est parfaitement supporté et la résolution de mon écran est au max. Bon par contre pas de soutien au niveau des ports HDMI et VGA qui sont directement branchés sur la carte nvidia et non sur la carte intel.

Mais sinon hormis ce problème, j'utilise ubuntu tout les jours et je n'ai pas de soucis (sauf quand j'essaye de bidouiller mais ça c'est un autre problème).

Après, il y a peut être un espoir, nvidia a parlé d'un "possible" support d'optimus pour les utilisateurs linux (NVIDIA Talks Of Optimus Possibilities For Linux. Mais bon l'article datant de janvier, et n'ayant toujours pas de nouvelles à ce propos, il y a peu de chance sad

Just pour info un article plus récent sur le même site annonce le support par nVidia d'Optimus (sans même attendre Wayland si mes souvenirs sont bons).
