[résolu] Grub ne me propose que "Ubuntu, memtest" et XP

Bonjour à tous,

Grand novice linux, j'essaye d'installer Kubuntu 7.04 sur une machine qui possède déjà Win Xp.

J'ai deux disques : le master qui contient win XP et le slave qui est entièrement dispo pour Kubuntu.

Le LiveCD fonctionne correctement, j'ai lancé l'install depuis le liveCD, elle s'est passée sans problème, j'ai laissé l'install me faire le partitionnement automatique.

Le souci arrive quand je boote, grub ne me propose que XP (qui fonctionne bien) et "Ubuntu, memtest86+".

Je ne comprends pas pourquoi il ne me permet pas de lancer un noyau ?

[dans l'état actuel des choses, je tente la technique habituelle : je recommence !]

es tu sûr de voir grub? ou c'est xp qui démarre toute  de suite.
Regarde dans le bios si ton deuxième disque est reconnu et
change l'ordre des démarrages: disque 2>disque1

es tu sûr de voir grub? ou c'est xp qui démarre toute  de suite.
Regarde dans le bios si ton deuxième disque est reconnu et
change l'ordre des démarrages: disque 2>disque1

Oui c'est bien grub.

Mon deuxième disque est bien reconnu dans le BIOS.

Si j'essaye de booter dessus directement, ça ne fonctionne pas (genre "pas de système d'exploitation").

va sur le livecd et dans un terminal tape :

sudo fdisk -l

et poste ici le résultat de la commande

setup (hd1) (hd1,0)              #on installe grub sur le mbr du disque 2
quit

Configure le bios pour booter sur le disque 2.
Démarre, tu devrais voir la liste d'entrée de grub qui commence par
Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.20-15-generic

essaye cette entrée, si ça donne une erreur
redémarre, replace toi sur cette entrée
appui 2 fois sur e
change root (hd1,0) en root (hd0,0)
valide puis appui sur b pour booter.

Alors le problème a été résolu par la méthode "habituelle".

J'ai recommencé l'installation et - moyennant moults incantations, quelques invocations et un ou deux sacrifices rituels - cette fois-ci grub me propose bien de booter sur le noyau, en normal ou recovery mode et de booter avec memdisk.

Donc ce problème est "résolu", maintenant un autre commence...
