Ok, j'ai essayé mais pas moyen. Et maintenant quand je démarre je tombe sur un écran XSERVEUR et puis stop. Là je suis en cd live. Voici ce que je trouve dans le fichier Xorg.conf:

j'ai oublié: je cherche un moyen simple, si possible par ligne de commande sur console pour mettre enfin nvidia geforce  8400 gt GPU en marche. Vista c'est pas pratique. Merci. Yann

Oublie Envy. Quand tu bootes UBuntu et que tu es en ligne de commande, fais

sudo modprobe --show-depends nvidia

si, dans la dernière ligne, tu as quelque chose à propos de lrm-video, fais ça :

sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia-glx*
sudo apt-get remove --purge linux-restricted-modules*

Puis reboote, réinstalle tes drivers et refais

sudo modprobe --show-depends nvidia

Si tu n'as plus la ligne "lrm-video", c'est bon smile

Ce n'est pas normal... Tu as bien viré tous les restricted-modules ?

sudo dpkg -l | grep linux-restricted

Je ne peux pas faire de copier coller car je fonctionne à partir d'une autre machine que celle dont il est question.

Je viens de faire ceci:

sudo modprobe --show-depends nvidia

je vois l'information lrmvideo, je continue donc par

sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia-glx*

ca fonctionne, suppression de nvidia-glx-new, purge des fichiers de configuration nvidia-glx-new,

je poursuit:

sudo apt-get remove --purge linux-restricted-modules*
lecture des listes de paquets, construciton arbre dépendances, E: impossible de trouver le paquet linux-restricted.

Que faire?

Quand je tape à nouveau sudo modprobe --show-depends nvidia, j'obtiens encore install /sbin/lrm-video nvidia

et si je tape ensuite sudo modprobe --show-depends nvidia, tjs le lrm video...

Je ne comprends rien et pourtant je souahite vivement utiliser ubuntu sur ma machine, voyez vous, parce que ppratiquement et philosophiquement ça me conviens mieux que MR B Gates, alors merci de m'aider en core. Yann
