j'ai plus de 4GO de ram est ubuntu en reconnai que 1GO.

Bonjour à tous et à toutes.

Voila, cela fait maintenant 1 semaine et demi que j'ai installé ubuntu.Donc tous va un peu près bien.Sauf que j'ai voulu ouvrir le moniteur systeme et il ma affiché que j'avais exactement 1,23 000 Mo de ram. Normalement je devrai en avoir environ 4 car mon pc en a 5 et ubuntu est en 32 bits. Mais je doute guère qu' il y ait une manip a faire au niveau du bios, car sur windows XP j'ai bien mes 5,3 GO de ram.
Donc ce qui fais que je suis très limité.

C'est aussi un ressentit,?... ton pc rame ?...

Tapes la commande   free   dans le terminal et colles le résultat dans ton prochain message

j'ai donc tapé la commande free est voici ce que j'obiten

Comment ça, seule la dernière commande a marché ? Que donne "uname -a" (ou à défaut juste "w") ?
En tout cas, le noyau ne voit que ~1 Gio alors qu'il pourrait en supporter au moins 4. Il va falloir regarder le début des logs du noyau avec la commande "dmesg" après le démarrage, c'est là que se trouvent les messages concernant la mémoire.

Pourquoi  n'as-tu pas installé Ubuntu en 64 bits ?

Disons que j'utilise rarement plus de 4GB de ram et je vai pas chipoté pour un petit giga. car même en programmant ou en faisant des sites web j'attein rarement 4 GB. Mais juste que 1GB c'est trop limité.

Non, ça ne m'aide pas. Ta commande w ne réagit pas comme la mienne, qui ajoute la sortie de uname -a avant.
Faut examiner les logs du noyau.
Note : même en 32 bits le noyau peut gérer plus de 4 Gio grâce à PAE. Cela limite juste la quantité de mémoire visible par chaque processus, pas par le système entier.

Hélas non, il manque le début qui a dû être évacué à cause des nombreux messages (c'est un tampon circulaire de profondeur limitée).
Les messages d'erreur concernent les lecteur de CD (sr0) et disquette (fd0), rien d'anormal s'ils sont vides.
Il va falloir regarder dans les fichiers logs du noyau. Sous Debian ils se trouvent dans /var/log/kern.*, j'espère que c'est pareil sous Ubuntu (pas d'Ubuntu sous la main pour vérifier). Il faut recherche le début peu après la ligne où le noyau s'identifie (3.5.0-21), dans ce qui concerne la détection de la RAM.

Il manque encore le début. Je suppose que cette fois c'est le tampon de ton terminal qui a débordé. Utilise less qui permet de scroller plutôt que cat, ou ton éditeur de texte préféré. Comme déjà dit plus haut, la partie intéressante commence par une ligne contenant la version du noyau (Linux 3.5.0) . Inutile de citer des centaines de lignes si ce n'est pas le cas.

La partie intéressante est probablement dans le fichier /var/log/dmesg (ce fichier contient les logs du démarrage du noyau).

Ouvre le fichier /var/log/dmesg dans un éditeur de texte et copie-colle son contenu dans un message entre les balises "[ code ]".

Le noyau Linux ne détecte que 1 Go de RAM, comme si tu n'avais que ça dans ta machine.

Peux-tu installer le paquet lshw puis exécuter la commande suivante ?

sudo lshw -c memory

(puis nous en donner le retour bien sûr)

Les deux sources convergent et disent que le BIOS ne voit que 1 Gio de RAM, en deux bancs (modules) de 512 Mio.

Donc sa veut dire que je dois allé dans le bios? Mais comment faire pour que linux détecte ma ram?
Pourtant comment expliquez vous que windows détecte 5,3 GO alors que c'est le même bios, j'ai pas 2 cartes mères dans mon pc?
